There was new blood in the Jini-msemi again. THAT made Ninon happy. New blood was always good, in moderation. Kept inbreeding from occuring, and that was always good. She and her line were new blood, after all. Especially her current cubs. But that was off the topic...She was bound and determined to meet the new girl. Best to know one's neighbors, after all.

She was more than a little surprised by the...largeness of the other lioness. She'd never seen a female who could, quite easily, give male rogues something to think twice about. WHY did her dream not give her an idea of the female's size?! Ninon caught herself, however, and smiled politely at the other. "Good day."

Daima-tii-mlei had been taking a drink, crouched down at the waters' edge when the other lioness approached. Even in that position, her size was obvious. She flicked an ear toward the other, uncertain if she was just passing by or intending to stop and drink herself, or if she was intent on stopping and visiting. When the other spoke, Daima knew which it was. She finished her drink and stood up, nodding to the other lioness.

"Good day. Might I ask your name, pride sister?" 'Pride'. Daima was going to have to get used to being part of a pride. But so far, she hadn't minded it. Even if she was still getting used to the mud and water.

Ah...some manners. This was a good start. Ninon bowed slightly. "I am Ninon Anki. Might I have your name?" The other lioness was bigger standing than crouched. Ninon thought she would have been used to others being larger than her, especially given Fleance. But...well, she just wasn't used to such a large FEMALE.

Daima had to catch herself from introducing herself as Lhach. The was no longer her name. She was a new lioness now..."Daima-tii-mlei. It is good to meet you, Ninon Anki." She looked the other over, curious. She was small...and unlike Maji, she was not built like a fighter. She was...soft-looking.

Ninon shifted a bit under Daima's look. "A pleasure, Daima-tii-mlei." She sat, still nervous under the other's gaze. "Might I ask why you're giving me such a look? It's...unsettling."

Daima looked a bit sheepish. "Ah...I apologize. It's old habit, I'm afraid." She sat as well, smiling slightly. "I grew up a rogue...I'm getting used to pride life. To not having to size up others as possible threats. It's...hard, getting used to it."

She was honest about it, Ninon would give her that. But still...She sighed and nodded. "I see. Well...you needn't worry about an enemy in our midst. The one problem our pride has had was taken care of by Mama Asali herself seasons ago." She remembered the murders all too well...She still grieved in her heart that such things had happened, and she'd been able to do nothing.

"I heard about that." Her voice was soft, completely counter to her appearance. Maji had told her of the murders, of the things that had happened. And how he'd lost his mother and father to the murderer. "I hope nothing like that happens again." If it did...she'd be among those hunting the b*****d down. This was her home now. And her mother had always drilled it into her head the you protected your own, and stood beside them.

"I'm certain...if it does...there are those of us who will See it before it happens." Ninon smiled slight and looked to Daima. "And let those like you know, so that it might be prevented." She didn't want such a tragedy to befall the pride again. She loved it so, as much as she loved her own mother and siblings, and maybe even as much as she loved Fleance and her cubs. "You certainly aren't a lady, Daima-tii-mlei...but the world has need of those like you, I think. Especially those of you with good hearts."

Daima laughed at that, nodding. "Well...I'm afraid even if there wasn't a need for fighters like me, I wouldn't know how to be a 'lady'. Mom and Dad raised me a fighter and a hunter, always ready to protect myself and those I care for." She grinned. "And this place, I'm coming to care for. Not just because my mate is here, but for the lions in it, and the place itself. This...this is home. I've never really had a home before."

The other had had no home? Well than! Ninon smiled slightly, and nodded at Daima. "Well...welcome home." It was simple, but Ninon of all felines knew just how much meaning those simple words could have. Home was a very, very strong place for some.

The large lioness was surprised by that. But...they were words she'd wanted to hear from someone other than Maji. Daima gave the other a genuine, thankful smile and nodded. "Thank you. It...it is VERY good to be home." It was very good indeed. "Do you think we might talk again another time, Ninon Anki?"

Ninon nodded and moved to leave. "We can. If you ever need an ear, Daima-tii-mlei, you have mine. Especially if you need any help adjusting. I was a rogue, too, once upon a time. And you can just call me Ninon." It was somehow comforting to know this fighting lioness wanted to talk with her...possibly be her friend, by the sound of it. "It was a pleasure meeting and talking with you."

"Thank you." Daima bowed her head in thanks, preparing to head back to where Maji was. "And...you can just call me Daima, Ninon." She regained her grin, then made her way to Maji. This place truly was home. Daima was home, and her heart swelled at the fact. Maji really was the best thing to ever happen to her, even if they butted heads at times. She had his love, she had a home, and she had five little ones she loved with all her heart.
