Orange sunlight flickered in through the heavy leaves as the silence of evening started to settled in. The only sound was the soft humming of a big lion as he slipped through the tall plants. "Mmm." Pausing he sniffed the air before nosing a slightly wilted plant, "Aww." Mentally he made a note to take care of it later. Right now he was more concerned with actually getting to the water hole so he could grab a drink. It was hot and dry lately and the weather was finally wearing down at him. Emerging from the shade of the plants the lion winced as he stepped into the warm sun and headed to the water.
Like living moss, the lioness slipped around her luscious home with keen eyes. They held a bitter gleam, her entire large mass making her all the more formidable. And yet, the plants carressed her every step, sending her waves of love as she broke away to the open gleen surrounding the watering hole. She didn't look at her surroundings, just plowed for the water to quench her raging thirst.
Reaching the water hole the lion hunkered down and started to lap at the refreshing water. Closing his eyes he took the moment to savour the crisp taste against his tongue. Mmm. His ears barely flickered towards the sounds of another approaching but he didn't even look up. By now he was used to random strangers appearing at the watering hole, though his body did momentarily tense. Looking up just to make sure that it wasn't some dangerous creature he tilted his head. Oh. "It's just you, Clea." He commented before returnign to his drink. Only when her presence fully register did he look back up to jump in surprise, "Cle-Clea?!"
Clea looked up with a hard glare, slowly clucking her tongue against her canines. Well awesome. "What? I DO live here, or did you already forget?" She was prepared to see other lions or a cheetah or two at the watering hole, but honestly, to see him again? It seemed like a distant thought.
"How could I forget?" Pattin's happy surprised went from a hurt expression to a bitter tone. Tail lashing the lion bent back down to the water, "I just didn't expect to run into you here." Giving a sigh the lion took one last drink before splashing into the cool pool. Not even Clea could chase him from such a relaxing spot after all this heat. Though it was slightly hard for him to not stare at her while she sat there. So he resorted to splashign through teh pool and laying about.
"Unlike you, I never left." Her words struck out like a poised cobra. Clea dipped her head down, swirling her tongue in the water before taking a drink. The tip of her tail coiled up aggressively and cracked down on the ground like a whip. She was a bitter lioness, one that didn't like to be reminded of the past, like that blob of green fluff.
"I'm sorry that you didn't leave too?" He replied before wading towards the shore and shaking off. Already his heart was twisted up at just seeing her so he didn't even want to know what her sharp words could to him. It was hard but he was forcing himself distant from her before the emotions came back again. Looking oblivious to her presence the large lion laid out in the sun and began to lick his paw.
The large lioness watch the male intently, analyzing his very paw steps with the ones she'd kept locked away in her brain. It wasn't fair, that he would come back now when she had all, but given up hope of seeing him again. Now that she was angry.
And he ignored her.
Grinding her teeth together agressively, Clea padded over to him and hovered. Let him try and ignore her now. "After all this time, the least you could do was give me the respect I deserve and listen to what I have to say."
Pausing with his paw hovering in mid-air Pattin took the time to collect himself before looking over at Clea. Oh, yes he would give her respect. But could he stand her chewing him out? The lion nearly shuddered at the thought.
"Alright." Pattin stood and stretched again before looking back at her. "But I don't have all day." He blinked before settling back down by curling up on the ground.
Clea took in a deep breath, her face a mixture of anger and slight fear. What if she said her piece and he still walked away? He had to at least know. At his last comment, the large lioness literally nipped his ear. In a...not so friendly way.
"You have a lifetime, fat a**! Just because we broke off didn't mean that you had to leave. Did you even stop to think for one second how I felt before waltzing out of here?!" She'd started off in a pissed rant that elavated to roaring, ears pinned back on her head. "You left me. Alone. We had no one, Pattin, and you left."
Wincing Pattin had to push down his urge to comfort the lioness. If he fell to his desires concerning Clea then the lion was afraid of what would happen. Last time their seperation hadn't been so touching. He had left because of the deep ache that had ravaged his heart each time he had seen her.
Love was painful. Not that he was going to admit that to her. He would much rather have her feeling pissed at him then anything else. He deserved it after all. She was right, he left her alone. "I thought about it." He replied softly before pushing himself up to his paws. "And if you would have thought about it more, Clea, then maybe you would understand why I left."
It was odd how distant he felt from himself at the moment. Even with her yelling at him the lion felt numb. "And maybe if you try to think this time then you'll understand why I'm leaving again." Blue eyes softened for a short second as he studied her one more time before turning away, "Goodbye, Clea." Before she could say another word the male was dissappearing through the tall grass.
