First there were nightmares; endless labyrinths of daunting nightmares. So many terrible things playing in front of her; things she never could have imagined on her own. Then there was only black. It was like she had fallen so far that there was nothing left to see. Emmy was just floating in blackness with her thoughts, no, the realizations that she couldn’t control. She was alone because she was too scared to actually form a strong bond from fear of losing it. She wanted so badly to call Melody and go for lunch, to see how she was. However, everytime she would just close her phone and set it aside telling herself she would later. It just seemed later would never come.

It seemed as though the darkness would never go away, that Emmy would be trapped here for the rest of her life. It seemed however, that she had concluded that too soon. Her eyes burst open and she shot up, as if she had just received one hell of a shock. She looked around to see she was in her own room, hooked up to a couple machines, and all alone. What caused her to wake? She could feel something had happened, that she had missed something important. Her vision was still a little fuzzy and her legs were quite hesitant to move, so she surmised that she had been under for a good amount of time.

After a few moments of fighting with herself, she managed to remove the IV that was in her arm and get out of bed. She found she had to walk slowly, but eventually she made it to her window. Nothing looked different, it seemed as though nothing had changed. She knew it in her core; deep down, that it wasn’t as obvious as say the city burning to the ground. Someone had to know what was going on. However, she had only met a handful of senshi, and she had no clue as to how to get a hold of them. Hell, she didn’t even know if they were still alive.

Emmy rubbed her face and decided it was best to let her family know she was awake. It was best to get all of the gushy stuff out of the way so she could get out into the city and do some research. This was a good plan until she realized no one was home. Great…now she’d have to wait for them all to come back, as she knew if she left and they came back to her gone they’d all have heart attacks. She sighed, and as if on cue her stomach began to loudly rumble. It made sense, considering she had no idea how long it had been since she had eaten. Emmy retreated to the kitchen and pulled out some leftovers from the fridge. While she waited for them to heat up, she noticed a pile of newspapers stashed in a corner. She picked one up and began to read.

Mass comas; everyone one unable to wake up? Something really did happen, and she couldn’t help anyone. She began to question her worth, if she really had what it took to be a senshi. Emmy leaned against the island and slid down its side. She continued to read, and as she did so, the feeling in her stomach worsened. What if Melody was hurt? What if there were no more senshi left and she just so happened to escape because she was so hidden? She had to know.

Emmy got up, ran to her room and grabbed her cell phone. She quickly searched for and dialled Mel’s number. It rang over and over, until finally a voice answered. “Hello, this is Melody. Hello? Is anyone there? Hel” –click- Emmy hung up without saying anything. Though even if she did it would have been very mumbled, as the moment she heard her friends voice, Emmy immediately burst into tears. She dropped the phone and kneeled on the floor, crying tears of happiness that her assumptions were wrong. She then heard a door slam, and voices echoing through the hall. She wiped her tears away and walked out to where her family had entered, ready to get this all over with. At that moment she decided that no matter what it took, she would patrol every night until she found others and find out everything that had been happened while she was asleep.
