Code of the Ranch
-1- Do not post unless the ranch is open to what you are interested in. If you just want to chat, are interested in a job as a stablehand, or need medical assisstance for your kyn, you are a visitor. If you're interested in doing something on the Bulletin Board to get something for yourself or your Kyn, then you are a questor. If you have a breeding pass and want to use it to breed to a feral, then you fall under the those with breeding passes category.
-2- You may only post in-character; there is no limit to the number of stablehands you may create under your single Gaian username, however.
-3- Literate RP only. Please use brackets or parentheses if you are not in character. No chat speak please. Use proper grammar and complete sentences. Spelling errors are excusable to an extent - we're only human after all. ^.^

Barn Layout
House - Aedan's house is not too small and not too big. It's a single story with a loft for the upstairs, and has a nice wrap-around porch.
Bonded Kyn Pens - These pens are roomy even for adult Japanese kyns, and are the place for the kyns that are bonded to Aedan.
Hatching Sands - A huge enclosed area that Aedan and a few of his feral kyn friends brought in nearly a ton of sand from the coastline to cushion the dirt floor and keep it warm enough to incubate and hatch kyn eggs.
Hatchling Pens - Smaller stalls where broods are kept after hatching until they are adopted out. They can still see and have the opportunity to interact with their mother in the hatching sands under supervision.
Corral - A fenced-in enclosure for the hatchlings to run around in without needing to be watched.
Mother Pens - Stalls for the kyn mothers where they can still see their brood but are at a safe enough distance for the young ones to still come into human contact without the motherly instinct kicking in. These pens are for feral kyn only.
Recovery Pens - Kyn pens where wounded feral and bonded kyn may be kept to recover under the skillful hand of the kyn caretaker. He knows all kinds of remedies and herbs that can help to heal kyn.
Watch Area - A covered pagoda where kyn that playing in the water or bathing can be watched from a safe distance.

Bonded and Feral Frequenters
Minya is the only actual bonded kyn to Aedan on the ranch. She's been with him longer than anyone can contest, though she does make month-long expeditions to other places at times doing things for Aedan, one would suppose. She's very motherly, and oftentimes overprotective. Minya is Native American for "Older Sister".
Brody is an adult gargoyle male that was rescued from his predicament with a broken wing. He probably won't ever be able to fly again, and has taken a great attachment to following Aedan around the ranch and helping out with the other kyns that come in. He is very wary of bonded kyn and their riders, probably because his injuries were caused by a bonded pair, though that's unconfirmed.
Brody is Celtic/Gaelic for "Brother".
Hiram is an adult male european kyn of seafoam coloration that was brought in by Hadus and Ganon after it attacked them while trying to recover a nest. The poor thing isn't exactly bright, and had gotten himself knocked out because of it. He has a strong distaste for Hadus and Ganon because they caused his injuries, and doesn't take kindly to even Minya as a bonded kyn.
Hiram is Hebrew for "Exalted Brother".

Hatching Sands/Incubation Barn
The incubation barn's floor is covered in a thick layer of fine-grain sand. Its pale color contrasts with the darkness that the corners of the rafters portray in the high ceiling. The sands are a place for eggs to sit comfortably and hatch in peace, without constant human or dragon attention.
Breeding Passes and Hatching Sands Tickets Order of Claiming
Gold Breeding Pass (requests breeding) -> First Choice
- Bronze Breeding Pass -> Second Choice
- Hatching Sands Ticket -> Third Choice
Silver Breeding Pass (requests breeding) -> First Choice
- Bronze Breeding Pass -> Second Choice
- Hatching Sands Ticket -> Third Choice
Bronze Breeding Pass (requests breeding) -> First Choice
- Hatching Sands Ticket -> Second Choice
If Eggs on Sand are from a random collecting, Hatching Sands Tickets get first choice, then bronze breeding passes. It is not required that bronze ticket holders accept eggs already on the sands, but no new clutches will occur until all eggs are removed from the sands. Pass holders who have the opportunity of receiving eggs will be PMed and told that there are eggs on the sand to be claimed. In the case that there are multiple pass holders that would have the same choice in claiming, the eggs will go at a first-come first-serve basis.

Tokens, Trophies, etc
The following are examples and explanations of the rewards that can be recieved for completing quests from the bulletin board.
Gold Breeding Pass - The holder of this pass may describe to Aedan descriptions and species for two kyns, and Aedan will do his best to locate and breed two ferals with those descriptions, and allow the gold breeding pass to have first choice of the eggs.
Silver Breeding Pass - The holder of this pass may describe to Aedan any markings, colors, and a species for a feral kyn, which Aedan will locate the best possible match for. He will then collect the eggs from this kyn's next breeding and offer the first choice to the silver breeding pass holder. Any extra eggs will move onto choice for a bronze pass holder, and then anyone holding a hatching sands egg ticket.
Bronze Breeding Pass - Aedan will speak with the ferals around the ranch, and request information on any clutches that need homes. The person with this ticket will get first choice of eggs from the hatching sands when two ferals breed if no one holding a gold or silver pass has requested a breeding (in which case they get second choice).
Hatching Sands Egg Ticket - The holder of this ticket will be notified when there are eggs on the hatching sands, and they may come and have their choice of eggs, as long as there are no gold, bronze, or silver pass holders that have requested eggs at that time. In that case, the ticket holder will take second or third choice.
Medal of Appreciation - A simple medal of varying coloration and design, given in appreciation to a deserving kyn.
Ribbon of Thanks - A simple ribbon colored in different patterns, given to the kyn(s) as a way to show gratitude. Each ribbon is hand-sewn by Aedan Matroy.

Ganon whistled and called out, "Hey, kid! Come on out here!" He whistled again, glancing at the message on the bulletin board and pulling it down. Hadus was with him, boredly cleaning his claws. Just another day in the life. Saving the world, one egg at a time and all that rot.

The young man came into view from the direction of the recovery pens, an adult gargoyle kyn with a tightly bound and splinted wing skulking behind him. At the sight of the tamed kyn, the red and black gargoyle bared his fangs and kept his distance, even as Aedan approached.
Aedan stopped a yard from Ganon, looking at the man with a bland, slightly perturbed gaze. "Something I can help you with?"

Ganon spun gracefully and smiled. "Ah, hey, kid. I was looking for you. Something about needing a kyn and rider to go rescue a bunch of eggs?" He wagged his tail slowly while Hadus snarled back at the gargoyle, coiling himself and uncoiling again in order to face the other direction.

The gargoyle rumbled angrily, single good wing fluttering in annoyance. Aedan moved forward the last few paces seperating him, Ganon, and Hadus quickly, reaching a hand out to try and touch Hadus' side. "Hush, fine warrior. He won't hurt you."
He turned from Hadus then, to face Ganon, obviously displeased with the nickname that had been given to him. "Yes, I do. There's been a report of an abandoned nest on the coastline. I don't have a confirmation on it, so it could simply be a rumor. It may even be occupied. But it needs to be looked into. If there are any eggs left, then please bring them back with you."

Ganon nodded. "Right then. You heard him, Hadus. Let's go." Ganon set off at a run and leapt, spreading his wings and flapping them, moving upward in a circle until he caught a thermal and soared. Hadus pushed off and slid gracefully into the air, slithering into the sky beside his rider.
[I'll make another thread. Will you play any ferals he might encounter?]

Aedan watched the two take off before turning his attention back to the wounded feral with the bound wing. The gargoyle still leered after Hadus, muscles bunched.

Ganon landed smoothly, sitting down to rest. Flying that kind of distance is hard work, especially when you have to flap a lot before you catch a thermal, and even moreso when you're carrying more than usual. He had an egg in each arm. Hadus landed a second later, his body wrapped around a feral European, the color of sea foam. The European was by now conscious, though still tightly bound, and blood was running down his face, cut open by his impact with the cliff face. Hadus carefully set down his two eggs and stepped back as Ganon grinned over at Aedan, panting. "Got 'em, and a playmate for that Gargoyle." He set his eggs down with the ones Hadus had carried.
It was late afternoon by now, and Ganon and Hadus had missed lunch. The collective rumbling of their stomachs could almost be felt vibrating through the ground.

Aedan approached the scene in a run, slowing down as he approached. A shadow flew overheard, a quickly fleeing feathered kyn with a huge wingspan and only hindclaws, colored like fire. From behind Aedan, the the same gargoyle kyn from earlier neared with nostrils flaring.
"What happened? And how many eggs were still intact?" Aedan's voice was rushed, his breath heavy.
