There was one thing that became evident as the days passed... no, crawled by, second by long second. He had to get out of his apartment, or he would go insane. Slowly, he was recovering - both from his injuries (a slower recovery) and from his own mental beating-up (thankfully a much quicker recovery). It was slowly starting to sink down that he had ******** up, but that was okay. That no one was perfect, and he certainly wasn't.
It was a nice day outside tonight, if not a bit chilly, and Xavier was heading toward the park to enjoy some of that nice weather. He'd taken over a park bench, music blaring though his headphones as he tended to this phone every now and then - mostly messages to and from Bell.
His cast wasn't really apparent under his jacket, but the sling his right arm was resting in made his injury obvious.

Istas was dressed in her pink outfit with jean skirt today as she hopped across the sidewalk in the park. Her stuffed backpack seemed to be pink as well. She was humming a soft tune as it was coming closer and closer to the holidays.
She paused when she saw Xavier. He had his headphones in again, and he probably wouldn't see her sneak up on him from behind and place her hands over his eyes. She wanted to surprise him and see if he could guess who it was!
She grinned as she attempted the 'well thought out' plan.

Istas' approach went completely unnoticed - Xavier was much too focused in his own little world to notice the young girl creeping closer and closer. His valid hand was tapping lightly against the bench, to the beat of his music.

When the child was close enough to place her hands over his eyes she did and grinned waiting for him to say something. Maybe she wouldn't scare him to death when she did this.
She waited to see if his head phones came down before giggling, "Guess who!"

Things were nice and fine, until suddenly, there was a pair of tiny little hands on his glasses. It did startle him, and he tensed, but at least he didn't start screaming like a little girl.
The headphones did come down, courtesy of his left hand. He had a very good idea who it was - how many young ladies did he know, after all ?
But it was more fun to play dumb.
"Oh, my ! Beats me if I know !" He was grinning like an idiot.

Istas grinned and let got of his eyes leaning on the bench, "Hello~"
She looked at Xavier "I didn't mess up your glasses did I?" She asked with a giggle. She was looking him over with a curious twinkle in her eye. "What happened to your arm!?"
She saw the sling, now that she was looking. "Didja get in a fight?" Her head tilted as her butter yellow eyes were trying to find if there was a cast.

"Oh !" He let out, as if he'd just gotten a great realisation. "Hi, Lulu !"
She'd forever be Lulu to him. Even if he one day learned to handle her first name without mangling it.
"My glasses have seen worse." And it was the perfect truth. His left hand went to adjust them back into a straight line.
She noticed his arm, Of course, she noticed his arm. It was hard NOT to notice, really. "You could say that. Im a boy, after all. Boys are troublesome creatures that get into fights." The least he had to explain, the better.

"Hi Xavier!" She gave another giggle as she moved so she could sit on the bench looking at his poor arm.
"I'm glad I didn't mess up your glasses!" She gave a firm nod, she was trying not to she just wanted to give him a surprise.
As he answered her she leaned over to try to look at it. "Have a cast?" She was curious, she wanted to know if it was just a bad sprain or a good break. "You sound just like fox. Always getting into trouble!" She giggled and pulled her plush pack to her lap. In case there was a cast, Istas would make it pretty for him!

He laughed at that. It was his most genuine laugh in the week since he'd woken up at the hospital. "That's not a bad thing now, isn't it ?" He didn't find it accurate, but it was better if Istas didn't question it.
"I do." He slid his arm out carefully, and rolled up his sleeve, and there it was - dark blue fiberglass on his lower arm.

Istas paused, "Well that depends. Perhaps the rabbit is more the trouble maker sometimes, but still. Fox fixed it so rabbits tail was tiny and not big and bushy. So I suppose it's how you look at it."
She gave a smile as he laughed. It at least meant he was in good spirits as she dug through her bag. "Lets seee here...." She mused as she pulled out metallic-glitter gel pens
After she found them her butter yellow eyes turned to Xavier, "Can I sign it?" The obvious question, something all kids loved to do. You couldn't have a cast and just not get it signed. It just wasn't done, at least in a child's eyes, however he still have the right to refuse her.
"I can make it pretty." She assured him well at least where she'd put her name she'd leave room for others.

Uh ? Probably another tale she heard from her mother. There were really so many interesting myths and legends in so many cultures... He really felt bad that he had nothing interesting to share with her.
This was the first time Xavier had a broken bone, but not the first time he'd heard about cast-signing. He'd been part of such thing before. "Sure." He answered to both questions. It wasn't like she could turn it into a glittery thing that could be seen from outer space, right ?

If Istas knew what he'd been thinking she'd say of course not. She didn't have her glitter glue and stickers with her! A few gel pens could only do so much.
Now if he'd seen the pumpkins she'd did, that's what she could do if she had the proper equipment. She was looking at her pen colors and tossed the dark blue back into her plush back pack, so it was between pink, purple, green, yellow, red, gold and silver. She looked deep in thought as she looked at the colors grabbing the yellow and purple.
Istas of course ended up sitting on the other side of the bench closer to his arm so she could work, and in her very best, nine year old hand writing she scrawled Istas Lulu in bright yellow lettering, under it, in smaller lettering, she put. You should be more like wise owl and not sly fox!
She paused and looked at the cast. "Should I put a ducky on it for you?" Butter yellow eyes watched him curiously for his answer.

It was so adorable. How did Istas managed to cram so much cuteness into one tiny little girl, he would probably never know. He remained still, very still, in order not to mess up with her handwriting, since it was clearly visible that she was applying herself. The text she wrote under it made him smile again.
"There's clearly space for a duckie on this, I think." And how. There was nothing else beyond what she'd just written on the cast.

Istas nodded when he said there was space for a duckie. "I can't believe your cast is pretty much bare. Shouldn't your friends want to sign it?" She asked as she worked on drawing a duckie with a pair of headphones.
She looked up at Xavier, "I can lend you my pens if they don't have anything to write with." She didn't mind, not if it was such a cause as signing a cast. She grinned softly, "Or maybe I need to go with you and ask them to sign?" Maybe his friends didn't understand how cool signing a cast was.
When she finished she sat back and looked at her handy work, the headphones had small music notes around them as well, and the ducky had round circles around it's eyes, they were suppose to be glasses. Istas beamed at her handy work.
"There that's better!" She gave a firm nod.

"I havn't seen many of them lately." That was a bit of a lie, but better than saying that older teens and adults mostly didn't bother with cast signing.
This was cute, though, and he grinned. "It is !" Most glittery cast ever. But he didn't mind.
