Lachesis, being the second fate, was in charge of measuring someone's life thread, deciding their life in the process. When they would die, what they would do, who they would marry and such. Such a lifestyle provided her with extraordinary insight to future events, and seeing as for her life the woman had done this....a teaching opportunity to shake up the monotonous lifestyle was ideal.
