For some reason Terentia had not been herself lately. She had been sick and moody over the last couple of days and not even she knew why - at first she thought it was due to a winter bug however as time went on she started to think otherwise.
It was a chilly morning and once more Terentia was up at the crack of dawn with her sickness. She had not been sleeping much which probably just added to her off temperament. Looking across the land as the sun just began to rise she wondered back towards the home of Wisp and his family.
She felt herself sink into what could be considered a deep thought, putting the pieces of the puzzle together in her head. Looking at it from a logical point of view only one thing made sense... but she couldn't be... was she? Her eyes widened slightly and she felt her heart sink. She was nervous and excited, however at the same time she did not want to get her hopes up.
It was true that she had become a little chubbier and her back was starting to ache as she walked but she presumed that weight was a mixture of her winter coat and also the extra food she had been eating to keep herself warm - everyone ate more in winter.... this year she had been eating a little more than most...
She thought for a moment, she felt like she should not tell Wisp about her concerns yet, if she was wrong she was afraid it would hurt and disappoint him. So instead she decided to discuss the matter with the flutter mare who had become a third mother to her. She looked for the white mare, a small smile across her face - she would probably be hiding in a flower somewhere.
"Hello, Sevati...? Where are you? I need to talk to you. I-"
I think you are going to be a grandmother...

The flutter mare in question was sunbathing, spending her time soaking up what rays the weaker, autumnal sun sent her way. She was also spending her days in her normal size so she could absorb more sunlight and warmth, spending the nights curled up a tiny ball of mane and tail in an abandoned squirrel drey.
Sevati detested autumn and winter, hating the season that heralded the end of all the flowers, and then turning her dislike to that season which kept the land locked in its frozen embrace. She was a creature of light and warmth and life, and so spent the time chasing the sun until spring.
At the sound of a familiar voice she stirred, lifting herself with a considerable amount of reluctance from the sun warmed patch of grass and wandered out to find her daughter-in-law, stifling a sleepy yawn as she went.
'Hey there.' she said on finding the Angeni. She didn't immediately notice anything different about the young mare but then she was still half asleep.

Terentia looked at her mates mother with a concerned look on her face, it soon turned into a warm smile and she bowed her head slightly, her long gold and black hair falling over her shoulder as she did.
"G-good Morning, I hope you slept well."
She greeted, polite as always. She looked around. Of cause she did not know if Wisp was around spying on them. However she did not see it in his character so for now she was safe. Yet he would soon notice his mate not sleeping next to him and come looking for her, so she needed to be fast.
"Mother, I am very concerned and there was no one else I could think to go to."
She began lowering her head slightly and looking to the ground. Terentia did always want to be a mother but now she found out she might be emotions plagued her that she did not expect. She was confused and most of all worried. What is she was wrong? What if she was not ready? What is something went wrong in her pregnancy?
Deep down past all the shock and the negative she was excited and happy. She might be a mother in a few months. Maybe it was because it was something so close to her heart that she was so concerned.
What would Wisp say? He wanted to be a father, but for it to happen so soon...
"I- Think I might be with foal..."

Sevati gave another half-yawn before answering the mare, shaking the foggy feeling from her head and slowly opening and closing her butterfly wings.
'Not bad, not bad, got a lot of sun to tide me over for a while.' Now that she was more herself she could see there was something slightly off-kilter with Terentia, and she tilted her head to one side as the angeni spoke and then lowered her head.
'Speak dear, speak! Do say what's wrong..what can I help with?' her eyes roved over Terentia and then she saw a slight thickening to her middle. Hmmmm she mused to herself, maybe? Maybe - but she would wait for what her daughter-in-law had to say for herself before peppering her with questions.

"I... think I might be pregnant..."
She mumbled in a quiet voice, shaking her head from side to side. She dare not say it in fear she was jinx herself. On top of that look who she was telling. It was her mother-in-law and with her reaction to the engagement she was pretty sure she needed to brace herself for the rolls and flips that where to follow...
.... which is why she wanted to be sure before she said anything, it was early days and who was to know. She gave a nervous chuckle and took in a deep breathe before bowing her head. Okay... after three. One... Two... Three. She counted in her head before shouting out what she wanted to say.
"I-I think I am having foals!... I might be... I think... Haha...." She meeped before looking to the side.

Oh yes, had the mare said it twice? Sevati was obviously still not awake enough and she bent for a moment, rubbing her face against a foreleg. There..
'What makes you think that in particular?' she asked when she had straightened up again, and she looked again at Terentia. With a flick of wings she shrunk down to her smallest form, flitting into the air as she did so. She described a slow arc around the Angeni mare before landing and changing back to her regular size.
'Well, there's a definate curve to the belly..have you and Wisp been making merry?' she asked, grinning as she went straight to the point.

If Terentia was not one with such a white completion you might have been able to notice the corpse like expression she gained when asked the question, it was not until the blood rushed to her cheeks that her embarrassment became visible, her face turning a very rosy pink. She did not just ask that! She was her mate’s mother! W-why you you? She shook her head and looked to the side not looking Sevati in the eye, she could not... for now at least. ”Well, if not I would not be worrying now would I?” She replied, it was the only thing she could think to say, she was not really going to publically discuss what happens behind closed doors. She was way too shy for that part of her personal life to be out in the open. Especially with his mother! She felt like she died a little inside.
She then looked at her to reply to her earlier question, clearing her throat and trying to regain her lost composure. She usually moved and talked with the grace and elegance of a swan however she felt like she just had a fruit thrown in her face which knocked her off her routine. “Well, I have been ill a lot, put on some weight and emotionally I feel... drained.” She explained hoping that would explain it. She must admit she was a little amused in the way the mare had flown around her stomach, it put a comical element to this awkward situation.
Then when she said she saw a curve her heart sunk. She was wasn’t she? ”S-should we find Wisp?” She asked nervously. She wanted him to be here, he had the right to know, and even if there was the smallest chance she was carrying his children. She knew this nervous and uneasy feeling would not go away until he was by her side.

Sevati let loose a small giggle, noticing the mares evident embarrassment at the question.
'You really should be able to discuss that part of your relationship with me without blushing. It's not like I'm asking for details.' she grinned. 'Well, the act doesn't necessarily mean foals, otherwise I'd be pregnant all the time.'
Sevati chuckled at that, but decided she wouldn't say anymore and make Terentia squirm again. 'If you've been making lost of merry, and have gained weight and feel different in yourself I would say yes then.' she fluttered her wings. 'I'm far from an expert, having had children just the once myself but it sounds like you should tell my son.'
She gave a small, over dramatic sigh. 'I'm too young to be a grandmother..' she teased and then changed size once more, exerting herself to reach Terentia's nose and gave it a small hug, her wings whisking the wind as she did so.
'I'm a grandmother!' she chirped.

Indeed Terentia needed to learn how to cope with her mother’s comments. She had for most things however that is one topic she always felt uneasy about. She gave a small chuckle as she heard her go on, it was the only thing she could think to do and even more so she did find her own reaction quite amusing. It was her that was caught red handed after all. She watched on as the flutter hugged her nose and confirmed her concerns. I guess that means she was. Well they would see but everything was pointing in that direction at the moment. ”You will make a wonderful one.” She gave a soft smile before turning and wondering towards the fields giving the flutter a ride since she was attached to her nose.
Her black eyes started to scan the area in search for her beloved lifemate. It was not too long before a blue male came into sight and for a moment she forgot her mother-in-law as still attached to her and whispered under her breathe. ”Come on girl, you can do this – you have come through worse.” She gulped, she had never had to do such a thing, it really was life changing. This was the first time she had fallen pregnant and even though she had studied her family she had no idea how to be a mother, at the moment she felt like all the information had escaped and left her. However at the same time she felt in her heart if little ones where on the way she would do well. With Wisp by her side she was invincible.
”Darling, I have some news.” She voiced out with a small smile on her face. She wondered how he was going to react, she remembered her mother say when she told her father he actually fainted...

Sevati heard the murmured words, but for once decided on a little tact and said nothing. As they neared her son, she silently slid off of Terentia and fluttered quietly away, heart singing of the joy of her first grandchildren. She would have to seek out Rohannon and let her Prince know that he was to be a grandfather.
Wisp looked up at their approach, a warm smile crossing his face at the sight of his lovely mate. He watched as his mother drifted away at ground level, wondering for a moment what his two favourite ladies had been talking about.
'News?' he echoed, looking at her face to see if he could gauge what type. She didn't look sad, or concerned but there was something there that he couldn't put a hoof on.

Terentia soon looked around to realise the fluttering of the mare has soon halted and she had left the scene. Even though she could fully well understand why she would think this was meant to be something done privately she could not help but feel nervous. I mean it was no small news she was delivering it was something that would change both their lives forever. Even though the two were already life mates, a child was something else, a physical bond which would tie them both together for eternity; something that they created together. It was a miracle for sure; however she knew that it was one she would not be able to enjoy until she knew his reaction.
”My love, I am sure you have realised that lately... I have not been acting myself.”
She began looking to the side cautiously; she was beating around the bush a little however she did not know how to word it. It was not like she had ever been in a situation like this before. She took in a deep breath and prepared herself to continue on after a small pause. She had reflected on how her condition had changed, the mood swings, the illness, everything would come to expect. At the moment she felt like a idiot about not confronting it sooner, however she did not want to rely on false hope, before stirring up a fuss she wanted to be positive. She would not know what to do if she had to tell him she was wrong.
”I have, had the suspicion... however I wanted to be positive before confronting you. You see...”
Another pause, the words just seemed to not want to leave her lips for whatever reason. She looked at him and a smile formed onto her face after feeling comforted by his large blue eyes. I guess this was the moment that she knew everything was going to be okay. He was there to help her and she knew more than anything that he would never leave her. She leaned closer, her voice becoming fainter; however still loud enough for him to hear her without difficulty.
”I am carrying your children Wisp, you are going to be a father.”
