The favourite places thread deals with places you've been to, but i'd also like to know where you'd love to visit too 3nodding
once again, no need to worry about page stretching in this thread, the bigger the pictures the better biggrin

San Francisco, this city has massive appeal to me, i love the way it looks, it's diverse cultures, it has hills! as i'm from a hilly town this greatly appeals to me, i hate the flatness of the land where i live now.It has a beautiful bay and a beach too, and just over the Golden Gate are mountains, sure it sits astride a massive faultline, and there will doubtless be another quake that will destroy all the lovely old buildings that survived the 1906 disaster, but it's still somewhere i'd love to visit, if i win the lottery i shall go and live there 3nodding Golden Gate with the Bay Bridge in the background downtown at night Telegraph hill and the Coit Tower, Bay Bridge in the background It's called Telegraph Hill because in the early days a semaphore sat atop the hill and would signal for residents when a ship was coming in with supplies. The tower was built in 1933 by San Francisco figure Lilly Coit in the shape of the nozzle of a firefighter's hose in honor of the firefighters who saved San Francisco after the 1906 earthquake and fire (it was the fire that did the damage, you know). Lilly left a grant to the city for beautification purposes and they used the money for the tower.Telegraph Hill from the top of Russian Hill, looking down Lombard Street
the same view, painted by Thomas Kinkade Lombard Street'the crookedest street in the whole of the US' a hint at the steepness of Lombard Street, there's a 5mph speed limit on this part of the street. The Painted Ladies, also known as the 6 sisters or Postcard Row~ Alamo Square, Pacific Heights with the financial district in the background The Palace of Fine Arts in the charmingly named Cow Hollow, down by the Marina streetcar, with Alcatraz in the distance follow the bay round to the left and you get to Great highway, a street bordering the beach and the Pacific Ocean the greensward you see is golden Gate Park, a half mile by 3 mile green belt seperating the Richmond and Sunset districts
