Funny story really. Now, what makes this odd/funny/annoying is that no one bothered to inform me that my sis-in-law was going into labor. How did I find out? Via a note left by my younger brother (which basically told be to go to hell) when I woke up stuck to my lamp yesterday morning.
The note instructed me to call my mother (which I did) and I got the answering machine. Several hours later, my mother called back and hung up after 20 or so seconds of not talking to me. Not too long after that, my brother (the father) called me and I congratulated him. He noticed that I sounded pissed, and I told him that I was because no one thought to inform me of this. I made it open and clear that I wanted to be involved, and yet I was pretty much the only one who wasn't.
A few hours after that I see my mother, who showed me a few pictures of my new niece (many of which were quite frankly disturbing) and told me that she didn't bother to tell me because she thought I wouldn't want to know that early in the morning.
But, I got to see little Jessie today (after my mother ignored how to get to my sis-in-law's room since I said how to get to her and a fight we had about me not wanting to live in my father's house), and she's adorable. I think she likes me. I mean, when I was holding her, she wasn't crying or squirming or nothing (unless that means she finds me unbelievably boring), and I told her that she has to root for the Yankees, Coke over Pepsi, and I sung 'Drain You' to her.

(no, that's no me holding her, that's my mother)
