Ahahahahahaha!
There was a look of pure TRIUMPH as one Demetri Wright dragged his prize home from the carnival. Well, one of his prizes. Thankfully he had taken a small bag that now had his lightsaber prop and two plushies jammed inside of it. It left him open to juggle two fish tanks in one hand and the other prize in his other hand.
Just wait til Zac got a load of this...
"ZEEEEEE, I'm HOME!"
The door burst open, Demy meeting the room with a manic grin and a fish in each hand. The giant prize? Stashed to the side so it wasn't instantly viewable from the occupant of the room. No no no, he had to put his other stuff down first!
And hey, at least he remembered to burst into the room this time.
"Have a nice night? I'm TOTALLY dragging you down to the carnival one night Zee, it's pretty damn awesome. Look! I won some friends for the glo-fish! ...Well, they're not going in the same tank, they have neat tanks of their own! But...well you get my point, right?"
He strolled in, setting the fish down on a table before continuing his explanation.
"But I have one more thing to show you...."

"Dear....god what are those?! Piranha!?" Zac leaned to stare into the beady black eyes of the sharp tooth fish that patrolled their small tanks looking generally as welcome as a field full of land mines.
"...I can not even IMAGINE what else you have dragged home, please tell me it doesn't swim or eat things, It's not a gerbil is it?! I know you keep looking at them but we WILL be caught if we try and sneak one in here!" He said with growing alarm at the manic grin on his roomie's face.

"They're goldfish! ...Really -weird- looking goldfish, but goldfish all the same! There's a fish scooping game Zee, you should try it out."
At the mention of a gerbil Demy simply snickered and removed his bag to dig through it a moment.
"No..no gerbil, unless you want to count the friend for Oreo I won..."
A gerbil plush and also a donkey were dug out of the bag, set down beside the fish who immediately started to eye them like they were prey.
"Okay, close your eyes!"
And then he was gone out the door, peeking in through it to wait for the other to follow his directions.

"That is....SO ...not a goldfish..." He said staring at the predatory gaze it was giving the plush animals.
"...I'll close them if you swear you're not about to hand me that fish." He said with a suspicious pause but closed his eyes all the same.
"...it better not be a carnivorous surprise!" He added though he kept his eyes closed all the same.
There was a great temptation though to watch that fish, he thought if it could find a way to breathe out of water it would probably consume them and half the dorm before dawn.... maybe there was a future to he had in horror movies involving 'strange goldfish.'

"It's just a REALLY. HEALTHY. goldfish Zee! Nothing to worry about!"
His roommate's giggling could be heard, followed quickly by the sound of the door being shut. Demy maneuvered the giant surprise right in front of Zee and stood behind it to watch the other boy's reaction.
It was a plushie. A GIANT plushie. A giant plushie panda, about the size of a small child.
And Demy was quite pleased that he had won it.
"You can open them now!"

Zac opened his eyes, stared, closed them again and rubbed them as though he could not believe what he was looking at.
He opened them again, nope... it was still there. My god... his jaw hung open rather like a codfish as he stammered for words and found himself without them.
He glanced up at Dem and back at the bear...
"Thats..." He started and stared at Demy, and then the bear... "It... w...."
He reached out a hand to brush against the fluff of the plump plush cheek.
"It... I..." He cast Dem another look as though he were uncertain if it were for him or for Dem...

"Isn't it HUGE? It was the biggest plush panda there Zee! And it's allllll for you!"
The boy grinned from ear to ear, waving the plush back and forth in front of Zac a bit before nudging it forward for him to take.
"I would have gotten it a ribbon or a bow or SOMETHING man but it was getting pretty late and I didn't want you to worry about me buuuut..."
He paused, sliding around the plush to plop to a seat beside the shorter boy.
"Consider it the first gift from your 'new' boyfriend?"
Yes, air quotes and all. New because it was the second go around, but 'new' because...well they had been boyfriends before, right?

'That.... that is the...biggest ...panda plush I have ever seen..." He conceded staring...and than laughed quietly.
".....thats not going to fit under the bed either..."
He leaned forward and dragged the plush to him, turning it so he could give it a good test squeeze even if it looked more like he was trying to give it a headlock. It was marvelously squishy for a plush from the fair, not the normal crunchy sawdust and shavings.
"...It's outstanding Dem..." He said and let shine a very real grin.
It would of course be named... Grandpa Tenebrous.

"Nah...it'd pretty much need it's -own- bed...which I am sorry Zee but it cannot have mine okay? Just no. Unless of course you give me a place to sleep..."
He eyed the bed a minute before turning his own grin back to Zac. Hey, it was a good compromise right?
"You'll go with me next time right? It's really awesome man, I promise!"

A dry look but tinged with amusement. "I think I'll build it one, if they complain it can have my bed at the house to keep his extended family company."
He fluffed the panda head and tapped the felted nose.
"My god... that's one HELL of a prize... what did you DO? Sell your soul to win bottle-ring ross?"

"Nope! Still no good at that game."
Demy tilted his head at the panda, reaching out to refluff it's head. Dear god, he was trying to give it bedhead like his own.
"I plucked the best duck out of the pond! ....Yeah it's a kid's game, but so what! Lookit that thing, it's awesome. And you know what's even more awesome? I won three out of three! The other two came from that game too!"
The gerbil plush would be a good match for Oreo, who Demy still adored. The donkey...well that was new, but once Demy was done dressing it up in glowsticks it'd fit in just fine.

"... I might have to try that game some time" He chuckled and rested his chin on the panda with a happy sigh...god it was even comfortable... he could probably nap on the bloody thing that was amazing.
"mmm... thank you... VERY much." He let out a contented sigh before a flicker of suspicion made it through his eyes.
"So... what does the 'new boyfriend' want in return?"

"I'll go with you! Maybe my luck will rub off on you, though it'd be pretty hard to beat a gigantic panda..."
At the other's question Demy blinked a moment, head tilting to look at Zac.
"...Nothing? When they handed that over I thought it was PERFECT for you and wanted you to have it..."
Should he be amused or hurt that Zac thought he was giving him a gift for any reason besides the fact they were -dating- and he loved him? Well...there -were- always things he could ask for, but he really just wanted to give a gift!
This time.

"...thanks man." Zac said again with a small nod... he really meant it too. It wasn't often in life that something came with no strings attached. Sometimes even when you earned something there were unseen 'prices' to be paid.
He reached over and 'slugged' Dem in the arm lightly.
