Fiona had snuck out of her window at approximately eleven o clock at night, which proved to be far more difficult than she imagined. Why? Because she had been battered and bruised, mildly, her parents and more importantly her brother had gone in protection overdrive. Of course they had heard about what had happened at the Halloween ball, that monsters, senshi and some other characters had all been there and that there'd been a rather nasty fight, but they had been certain that their precious little Fee wasn't there.

So when she got back home and they saw the bruises that were starting to form, well the trio certainly hadn't been happy. In fact Peter had made it clear that he would be checking up on her frequently, that was until Fiona begged him to let her 'sleep' in peace. Once he had agreed, then she had her opportunity to escape.

She slipped out of her window in her PJs, which consisted of a hot pink tank top and green flannel pants, she made sure to get at least a block or two away from her house before she whipped out her senshi pen and uttered her little phrase, "Denebola Power, Make up!"

Once powered up the redhead began her patrol by making her way to the park. It took her a good hour, because she took a few back routes to allow her to warm up so to speak before she arrived at the entrance of the park.

Denebola found it rather amusing that as a civilian most of her time was spent at the park, though for different reasons, and as a senshi it was the same. She chuckled softly to herself before walking down the main pathway.

Wolframite didn’t usually visit the park while in uniform. The place had become a breeding ground for senshi and only brought out memories of past failed battles. It was his desire to find a certain senshi that brought him here at long last, and also to train. He HAD to train with senshi, because they were his only chance of finding out more about them and being better prepared. Was he prepared? Not at all. He had the drive to kill, but his abilities were in question. Could he stand up to someone at his level or even below it, or was there a lot of practice and compensating to be done? More than the training he was already receiving. Trees and cans weren’t going to cut it. He needed moving, fighting targets, and while his co-negas were especially challenging (most only hitting the point right before killing him), he knew the different between a battle between Nega and ones between senshi.

So he went to the place he most often seen them. The park had always been a refuge for him, a place to escape from fighting. Running from bullies or just taking long hikes, he had always loved it here. Now he hardly had time for hobbies that didn't involve his second life. He hadn't visited the park in a long time, even as Ladon, and he took a moment to breath in the fresh air.

Unlike Fiona, Ladon had dressed for the night just in case something happened that required he change back to Ladon and not look completely out of place in his PJs. He sometimes went to a 24 store or whatever late-night place that wasn't a bar to warm up and relax after a patrol. It helped break up his patrol from going to home to sleep. Else he would have some bad dreams or bring some unwanted thoughts to bed with him.

He was dressed in a sweater, jeans, and a forest-green pea coat. The white medical patch was covering one side of his face, but it was dark and he could hide in the shadows. When he got to the park, he shifted. There was no call out, no noise created, but a dark ripple passed over him and he was in uniform once more. To this he jumped and made his way on the wall before finding a thick tree to jump on. He remembered practicing his jumping on these very same trees as a Lieutenant, and he was here as a Captain to do the same. His aim was off even when jumping and landing, and he wanted to do better.

So he started to hop between branches, testing out his landing. So far, not too shabby.

Fiona often dressed in rather...unique clothing as a civilian so it wasn't particularly odd for her to go out in her pajamas. In fact there had been more than a few instances where the girl had been up late studying, got the case of the late night munchies and wandered to a convenience store to pick up a snack in her PJs. It certainly hadn't been the girl's brightest idea but it wasn't completely unusual.

Of course she didn't think there would be anything wrong with it, simply because she hadn't thought of the possibility where she would have to henshi down quickly. She was still very new to the whole hero thing. She was far too naive.

As she walked down the well lit path a reminder was set off in her head. "Keep to the shadows, you don't want to be out in the open it's dangerous," Super Sailor Taranis had told her on her first night of training with him. Sighing she stepped off the path and into the grass headed towards the line of trees that made a path of darkness.

She felt the change in the way the area felt, but she didn't think too much of it since she still couldn't distinguish the feel that different powered individuals gave off or the good from the bad even.

Following Taranis's advice would prove to be her undoing because she was only a few trees down from the one Wolframite had just landed on.

While he wasn't a rookie, he couldn't help feeling like one when he was waving his arms to regain balance and finally latched to the trunk of a tree. He miscalculated a jump, getting a little too cocky with a few hopping successes from branch to branch, and over thought himself on one leap. He was glad he didn’t fall down as, even when he was a Captain now and with added durability, it would still hurt!

It was gaining his balance that he looked down to notice how far away the fall would have been, when he noticed the senshi. It was a good thing fall meant falling leaves and groaning tree trunks or else his jumping about might have caught her attention. As for sticking to the shadows, he was a master at that. A black uniform helped, and while he blended in, the girl in spring greens and petal pinks stood out like the last flower of summer.

There was no mistaking her for what she was, and he watched her a moment to see if she was meeting anyone important. When he saw no sighs that she was here for a reason other to just be a senshi and have an bothersome existence, he decided on another type of training.

His weapon had a longer chain now, and he was sure that he could throw the blades down to reach her. He wanted a moving target for his blades. He had it. If she ran, then he would just take it from there. She wasn't the senshi he wanted after all, but that didn't mean he couldn't continue doing what he had been doing with all the others. Damaging them so much that they became an example and message to someone else. There was no way for Wolframite to sniff Castor out and find him, so he was sending damaged goods back to him.

He'd get his message across.

The cold twin blades were summoned to him, their heavy chain comforting in his hands. Making sure to stand against the tree trunk, he started to spin one end and held the other end. He could talk to her, but maybe he should see how well he could throw first. He reached out with his hand and the spinning chain flew out from his fingertips to the girl below. He was hoping for fatal, but anything would do.

There was hardly ever a time that the girl felt uncomfortable in the familiar field of the park but tonight was her exception. Perhaps it was her still heightened nerves from the fiasco at the Halloween ball but the scout couldn't shake the feeling that something wasn't right. Her instincts told her that the shelter of the trees wasn't good, that something was wrong. Maybe it was that feeling that made the hair on the back of her neck stand on end.

Her instincts proved right.

She looked up just as the blade was thrown at her. Her eyes widened with panic before her survival instinct kicked in and she dove forward into a roll. The blade managed to slice into her arm as she jumped. She had moved quickly but not quickly enough. "Damn," she mumbled to herself, palms against the grass, glancing at her fresh wound. She hissed in pain as the aftershock hit and she pushed herself up out of a crouching position.

She didn't waste time looking for her attacker, she just started running. There was no point in trying to fight someone she couldn't see so she did first thing her mind told her to. She ran.

She ran along the line of trees before switching her direction. She was moving back towards the well lit path. At least then she could see. If she could see she could retaliate. If she could do that then she could stand a chance.

She wasn't running away, she was running to a better spot to fight.

Wolframite nearly jumped up and down at seeing that he hit something, but decided on a more stable and dignified 'yes!' as he gripped the tree he was standing on. With great satisfaction, he yanked the chain back and started reeling the weapon back. It was then that the target moved, and he quickly yanked the rest before turning about. Jumping from branch to branch was a real pain, and while it was good practice, he nearly fell twice before he decided that it was best to just jump down and run.

He was a good runner, and as a Captain, he only became better with the added power boost. While she seemed like a new senshi, one could never be sure with their uniforms, and she had the foresight to at least run in a straight line and make her an easy shot. The trees also got in the way of his aim, and he decided that he'd wait. He couldn't do anything until he got a good shot, and then he started to slow down. Why was he running? This was a senshi – and if she wanted to fight, she would. If she didn’t, well, he at least nicked her and got a message to stay away from the park. That was something – but then again, if he let her go, she would become stronger and a bigger hassle later down the road.

No. He couldn't allow even one senshi to just to get off that easily. He picked up his pace, and noticed she was heading for the paths, the lights shimmering up ahead through the barren trees. "Come on now! Are you that afraid of the dark?" he asked. The light only made them BOTH a easier target, but if she wanted to see him that badly, then so be it.

With a swing of his weapon, he aimed again, watching it fly out.

Sailor Denebola had still had much to learn about being a senshi. She needed to learn about the real dangers that came with the job and how easy her new found powers made her a target for everyone. Humans, other senshi, and worst of all seasoned Negaverse agents. Her lessons with Taranis simply weren't enough, she needed first hand experience and she just happened to get it with someone she would come to wish she hadn't.

She skidded to a halt and flipped around quickly as her hand wrapped around her wounded arm. She hissed in pain as she looked around. "Darkness doesn't scare me, only the thought of seeing your ugly face does!" She yelled once her eyes found him.

So this was someone from the negaverse. She swallowed dryly as she pulled her hand away, her palm soaked with red. She didn't have much time to think of what to do, in fact she didn't have any time at all because his weapon was flying at her again. So she did the first thing she could think of.

She ran at him.

She moved in a zigzag pattern leaping in the air to avoid his attack. Charging forward her hand curled into a fist, she was planning on getting close and punching him. His weapon was long range so she wasn't sure how close she could get but she wasn't about to risk weakening herself by using her attack too soon.

She had to figure out some of what he was capable of. It was lesson number two.

His weapon was meant to keep others away and fight from a few feet of safety. Of course he knew that there were long range senshi attacks, and even some that covered a wide area. He had met these senshi, and they had done their damage. It was the close range attacks that tended to do the most, and he knew his advantage laid in keeping others away.

For someone who appeared knew, he was very impressed by the, pardon his slang, "balls" she had in attacking him straight on. Cocky, but he had to wonder if she was desperate. His weapon had already flung out, and while he usually reeled it back bit by bit, there was another way. "I don't think I look that bad, but you might after this fight." He jerked the chain hard, causing the limp end of his weapon to pick itself off the ground and hurl itself back to him. Of course, he yanked it so that it swung back to him but towards the running senshi. He wondered if she thought about the damage his weapon could do when it was returning to him, not to mention the length of chain that could ensnare her.

All the while, he was being conscious that she could be getting close to use her attack. If that was the case, it was best to keep her at a distance.

The girl behind the senshi was one who was ready to face the world. She was the kind of girl who didn't back down from a challenge, not if she could help it. It was a quality that certainly translated well when she learned of her senshi half. The girl was one of courage certainly but she was mixed with a dash of a fool.

Only fools rushed in headfirst.

While Denebola wasn't exactly a fool she wasn't thinking clearly. She was charging forward without first trying to learn anything about her opponent. But after his first attack she had deemed it unnecessary and dangerous to sit and try to figure everything out.

This was a situation where you had to learn first hand.

She was gaining upon him when her blue eye caught sight of the chain, and blade, whipping back toward her. She jumped into the air in hopes of avoiding the attack. If it hurt the first time it would probably hurt worse the second time.

She successfully evaded the blade only to find the chain whipping forward, back to it's master, slamming into the legged that had just touched the grass yanking her forward before slamming her into the ground.

"Ughhhh," she moaned. She was in over her head but she didn't know it yet.

While it wasn't a nice cut, he was very impressed with himself that he was getting some of his alternative moves down. All the training wth his fellow Negas was really paying off, and he made a note to thank Uranophane for opening up his horizons a bit with the different advantages of his weapon. Sure, it had hurt like hell to train with her, but at least he could now repay all that abuse by inflicting it on others. What a warm thought!

The tricky part was catching the chain in such a way that the end blades didn't spin about and slice him, but he managed it with great success, catching it near the blade and breathing out. Great. What was even more rewarding was he moved over, was that the senshi was down and it would take her at least a few moments to pull herself up. "Hurts, doesn't it? You should just lay there and let me make dying easier for you. All the struggling means I'll be yanking your starseed a little more slowly than necessary, and I can testify that it hurts like a royal b***h when it happens." As a Nega, he knew the consuming pain of a hand gripping your starseed. It was a invasion like no other and caused his blood to run cold at the recollection.

He started to spin his weapon again, and calculated the throw. "You wonder you'll make good compost when I bury you. I know a nice spot near a dumpster." He threw once more, aiming for her back.

Her head was spinning from the force of her fall, but she didn't let it keep her down. She pressed her palms against the grass and was in the process of pushing herself up to her feet when he started speak. "Not as much as my fist will feel against your face," she snarled once she was on her knees. She spat in his direction as she continued to move to stand, it was a much longer process than it should have taken her but her head was still spinning and she had to take it step by step even if it let him have more time to attack her.

She was on the balls of her feet about to spring up when the blades came whipping toward her once more. She had been glancing behind her which gave her just enough warning time to try and dodge. She launched herself into a forward roll, shoulder first, landing on her feet.

This time she had been successful in dodging but it reminded her of the aching wound on her arm, blood was dripping down the side and soaking into her glove and her ankle, the one she had caught the chain on, wasn't holding up too well.

But she wasn't down and out for the fight, she still had a fighters chance. Apparently the warning from her mentor hadn't sunk in properly. Once she was back on her feet she was charging forward again, fist raised and determination flaring in her eyes.

The senshi wasn't realizing one vital fact. A chained weapon was a weapon designed to keep others away. Charging at him was just the wrong move, and he wasn't about to let a senshi get close to him. He'd already experienced the repercussions of letting any senshi move close enough to throw a punch, and he didn't intend to let his guard down with this girl, bleeding or not, to let her pull out some move of her own.

For added measure, he jumped back once to get some distance as she was fast approaching, but running straight at your target had to be the simplest move out there. What did she expect him to do? Wait for her to beat him in the face? Like he'd let THAT happen again.

Instead, he swung his weapon a moment to gain speed and then swung the chain out, holding one end and letting the rest of the length sweep out in one large arch, the blade gleaming at the end. She was either going to get cut or wrapped up in his chain if she didn't move, and considering the wide radius to which he was covering, he hoped she would get tangled up somehow. He'd been eager to rip out a senshi starseed for a while now.

Denebola was a smart girl but sometimes her courage and inability to always think things through darkened her bright mind. She had the terrible tendency to charge forward, headfirst, without thinking about the consequences or how her actions could backfire on her. Of course her arm did hurt like a b***h and her head was still spinning from her earlier fall could have been clouding her judgment too.

It occurred to her that it wasn't the best idea to charge forward in a relatively straight line. Especially when that damn weapon came flying back at her once again. She swerved from her course and even did a tuck and roll off to the side in an attempt to dodge.

She was successful, until one of her legs was snagged. It yanked her down and back towards the officer. Son of a... she mentally cursed as she dug her fingers into the grass. She twisted her body so she was on her butt before reaching for the chain currently wrapped around her ankle. Deliberating for a brief moment she wrapped her hands around it and tugged hoping it would do her some good.

PostPosted: Tue Dec 21, 2010 7:41 pm

Holding the chain would have been a good tactic IF Denebola could have kept a firm footing and anchored herself to one spot. Unfortunately for her, the one thing that was chained was her leg, and while she held on and pressed her foot down to stop her, she pulled to one side, and was back to being dragged. Link by link, foot by foot, he dragged her to him until she was just close enough. Then, with one hand firm to hold the chain, he took the other hand and gripped the other end. "Tsk. Tsk. You should have just given up from the start."

Moving over, he gave a hard kick to her side, before spinning the other end of his chain. "Charging at me. What did you think you were going to do?" He slashed down at her with the other end of his weapon. "Hurt me? Make me bleed?" He slashed again. "Killed me?" He slashed again. "Make me suffer?" He slashed again, one hand keeping his grip on the chain, the other slashing as he went. What better way to make someone weak enough to steal a starseed from then to make them bleed?

For someone shorter than most, looking younger than most, he still had experience. He practiced. He patrolled. He let his duty take high priority. Playing with his catch - that was for cats. Now wolves....they were a different beast entirely.

The girl was dismayed to find that her attempt at keeping herself in place, as she tugged at the chain desperately hoping to free her ankle. Unfortunately it was to no avail as the physically stronger captain began to pull her in. As she began to slide sideways toward him she threw herself forward, away from the chain wielding negaverser. She scrambled away, or rather tried, her fingers clawing at the ground trying find purchase. Her hands fluttered about digging into the ground trying to find something, anything to hold on and stop her descent towards the one-eyed captain.

Her ballet-like shoes scraped against the ground as she tried to push herself to her feet yet every time she thought she would be able to stand she was yanked back to the ground. Unfortunately for the battered senshi she only had handfuls of grass as she twisted her body towards him, glaring.

She was in a dangerous situation and she knew it well but she was determined to not show him the fear that was swelling in the pit of her stomach. Having courage meant facing what you feared and Denebola was certain that was exactly what she was doing.

She had been foolish from the beginning, a lesson she had learned the hard way and one she hoped she would live to fix. Though, at the moment, it didn't seem very likely.

He returned the chain to himself but before she could even react he attack and her arms flew up instinctively to protect her face adding to slash already on her arm. She didn't have the chance to respond or move when he slashed again effectively cutting across her stomach. She let out a foreign sound and she brought her knees up trying to protect herself.

This was a losing battle for certain.
