((Backdated to right after Schink were promoted <3))
All things considered, Scheelite was feeling at the top of his game.
Just hours before Zink and himself had received the honor of being promoted to captains. Him! A captain! No more grunt work as a lieutenant. Nope, now he could have a team of lieutenants of his very own! Zink would have one too, and they had already agreed to work together when they could and have the uber team from hell.
Clearly this plan was awesome, his team was going to be awesome, and everything from this point -on- was going to be awesome. The dark little voice in the back of his mind was quite pleased as well. Captain! He was getting somewhere in the world.
And now he had to go share with someone!
So clearly Paragonite would be the best choice. Afterall Paragonite was going to be on his team whether she agreed to it or not (obviously she'd agree, Para loved him! Or...something). This much had already been decided and once something was in Scheelite's head well...it was rather difficult to convince him otherwise. Scheelite had picked Para to be his number one lieutenant, and damnit that was what she was going to be.
But first he had to find her, show off his captainess, and inform her of this change in team. Given the time of day, the most likely place to find her was band practice, so he set up camp nearby and out of sight to wait for her.

Heather liked her band uniform. After a month of arguing with the band leader, she'd managed to get them to let her go around without the stupid hat on. Instead she had fashioned herself a cute, matching headband. She was in a particularly good mood, practice had gone fabulously, she hadn't lost her touch with the baton. No big surprise there really, she still practiced relentlessly. Plus it'd been quiet on the home front. No pesky blonds, no rushing around trying to collect star seeds (though she still found time to take out her daily stresses on the unsuspecting masses to collect them here or there), and in general...
Things were just pretty awesome.
Well, outside of Demetri being in a coma, but as much as that was rather terrible, she'd never seen him so quiet. A person could almost (almost) get used to it.
As she walked down the street, she pulled out her baton giving it a practice twirl between her fingers. As she continued down along, she failed to notice the familiar figure lurking nearby in the shadows.
Tossing her baton up in the air, she moved her arm up to catch it as it came falling back down towards her. However, she heard it thunk off something and it clambered down on the ground, away from her.
"What the," she started, her hand shading her eyes from the sun as she peered upwards to see what had happened.
"Hello?"

"Heeeeeey!" That was quite a distinctive whine. In fact Heather was probably well aware just who had that whine. But hadn't he been in a coma?
Well yes, yes he had. But her probable fears were simply confirmed as the figure jumped out of the tree and landed in front of her. Those bright (damn close to glowing) green eyes, that mess of blonde hair. That sickeningly silly grin.
Yep, it was Demetri alright. Scheelite, at the moment.
But something seemed...different about him? His uniform was definitely different, that hair of his was different, and he seemed to have just a bit more actual confidence about himself. Just...what the hell?
The boy glanced around for a moment before moving closer to Heather to whisper "Hey, think you can come with me for a bit? I've got stuuuuff to teeeeell youuuuuu but this probably isn't the best place ya know?"

"God damnit Schee, really? Could you have met me in any more of a public place?" disregarding her questions that were bubbling to the surface about his amaz-er-ing revival, she took the time to scold him nevertheless. Bending over to pick up her baton from the ground, Heather groaned. So much for the 'best day ever' mantra she'd been rolling over in her head. Not that she'd ever let that be shown on the surface.
As she stood back up she felt what could only be described as a death grip, wrap around her arm and begin to drag her off towards the park. Flailing a bit under Schee's grasp, she managed to spit something out about "NO SWINGS." in an exasperated voice.
"The hell is going on Schee? And why do you look like a glowworm from hell?"

"Well I could have come into your band practice but I decided to wait outside! So actually yeah, I probably could have met you in a more public place. Should I next time? I was trying to be good!"
Scheelite had a death grip alright, and he wasn't letting up until they were in the park. "I'll tell you when we get there, okay?"
------------------
One short (though it probably felt long to Schee's 'victim') trip later the two were in the park. Despite Heather's earlier protests Schee was still dragging her towards the swings, and he wasn't going to let up until they were there. Thankfully the swingset today was abandoned, and it was only when the bright Negaverser saw them that he released Heather and bounded forward to sit on them.
"I uh...I guess I've been out a while huh? I even missed my BIRTHDAY man, that really sucks. But other stuff has happened too! And guesssss whaaaaat!" He was swinging back and forth a bit, that silly a** grin still plastered across his face.

"Damnit Schee! LEGGO!" it happened that just at that moment, Scheelite released his unwilling buddy from his stone grip, which sent her reeling forward a few steps before she caught her balance (she'd been attempting to yank her arm away. Physics is a b***h).
Turning around on her heels, she revealed her lieutenant form, trading in her school baton for her favourable black and purple one. She was about to bring it down on Demy's arm when she paused, mid-swing,to actually hear him out.
There was a moment where the boy almost seemed melancholy, and her mind flashed to the fleeting moments when she'd visited him in the hospital. His face had been sullen, almost sad. Like he knew he was missing out on the rest of the world.
She let her arm fall to her side, her baton disappearing, and walked a few steps over. The melancholy had almost been immediately replaced with over-enthusiastic hyper-active Schee...ness.
Same ol, same ol.
"Alright alright, what's up?"

If he had any control he'd hold back the information a bit longer just to tease Para. Really, the fact she about beaned him with her baton did little to phase him (had he even noticed? Probably not), and the little secret was just DYING to get out. So, he blurted it out as soon as she asked.
"I'm a CAPTAIN now Para! A captain ISN'T THAT AWESOME? Zink is too, promoted at the same time and just...IT'S SO GREAT!" Here he hopped up, standing on the swing as he flailed his arms and went on and on about just how amazing it was. At any moment he'd likely fall over in his excitement, but that wasn't bothering him right now.
He had been PROMOTED.
"I've got this awesome new uniform and an awesome new WEAPON and I get a teaaaaam, and and and, I want you on my team okay? You can be my number one lieutenant and help train the newbie lieutenants and we can hang out all the time and do missions together and it'll be just like before except it's my team now! Sweet huh? It'll be great!"
And horrifying.

She stared.
She stared more.
She stared longer, harder, and strained her ears to make sure she had heard right.
After a few moments of letting it sink in (who in their right minds let HIM be promoted? Zink she could understand.. but SCHEE?), she formed a thin line across her lips.
"No." she said flatly, her arms crossing over her chest.

At that moment Schee looked very much like a kicked puppy. The grin faded, quickly replaced by a pout (complete with quivering lip!), as the blonde sunk into full on sulk mode.
"Why not Para? Cmooon, I don't need any more bad news...I thought today was going to be a good day. I thought you'd like being my number one and we'd build a super cool team..." The boy sniffled. Sniffled. Then he moved to plop back into a seat on the swing so he could sit there quite sullenly.

"The nice way to say this because you and I have differing opinions on these things. And don't sulk, it really doesn't become you." she was irritated now. Scheelite's crybaby antics never did appeal to her. Too whiny for her tastes.
"Besides, it's just... you know." she sighed, "I'm just... I'm older than you, it's weird." And it would be like taking orders from a five year old!
...
At least she had the common decency to leave that part out..

"So? I've been in the Negaverse longer and I'm the one promoted and...cmooon Para, please?" Acid green eyes (still part of a pout), shifted to meet Para's own gaze.
"I just....dunno who else to go to." Everyone loved him, really! They did!
...
But he had no idea who else would even want on his team whether because they were busy or they actually -didn't- like him he left out of his thoughts. Afterall, everyone loved him. Clearly.
"Cmoooon! I just woke up recently and got all kinds of bad news..." Here he paused to shift uncomfortably. "And this was my good news and I don't want it to turn bad too. Please Para? PLEASE?"
He wasn't giving up easily.

"No!" she placed her hands on her hips now. She wasn't going to fall for his antics. No way. No how.
"I'm telling you Scheelite, it's just not going to work. We're not gonna mesh, okay? Can't you just co-run Zink's team? I'm sure he'd love to do that with you, right?" she fumbled for legitimate sounding excuses beyond "no ******** way, no ******** how, I don't want to be on your damn team of crazy monkey."
Just didn't feel right to say that to someone just coming out of a coma.
Even if it was Schee... since he was the closest thing to a crazy monkey she knew.

"No!" His own response had seemed rather sudden and uncharacteristically harsh of the boy. "I can't just co-run Zink's team. I was here BEFORE Zink! I can do stuff too! I don't mind working with him, I don't mind aligning my team with his, but I want my team and my chance to shine and do something for the Negaverse!"
A pause, and then a bit quieter "I don't want to be just Zink's shadow forever..."
Scheelite heaved a sigh, his gaze dropping back to the ground. "It's just..it's not the same. Things aren't the same, and please Para you can't abandon me too. Please. I really just can't handle that okay?"

A sigh heaved from deep within Paragonite's chest. She walked over to the boy, and ruffled his hair with her hand.
"You know, you're lucky I'm having a good day," she offered, her words had a hint (just a small one) of kindness attached to them.
"I get it. I'll stay... for now." she added sharply, drawing her hand away from the boy's head.
"You owe me though."

Within mere seconds Schee was on his feet and latched to Para in a tight hug. ...He kept his head away from her chest, of course. "THANK YOU PARA! Thankyouthankyouthankyou! I totally owe you, and and and this'll be GREAT thank you!!!"
He needed this, really he did, and for the moment he was quite content to show just how much he needed positive support by remaining quite latched to his 'new' teamie.
