As students begin to file into the main kitchens, they find themselves greeted by a very large, muscular woman with a very large, full afro. "Step right in, lovies, right in here. There ya go!" Lunchlady Ginger's voice is deep and rumbling, but sounds cheerful nonetheless. "Right in with ya, get yaself suited up now. There's a dear! And don't ya look the sweetest thing!" Hanging neatly on hooks were seven aprons, "Don't be forgettin a 'kerchief fer those o'ya with hair now." Matching scarves are folded and stacked neatly to the side. ...was this really going to involve Battle Passes?

Thackery made sure that he arrived as early as possible for "Home EC". He still had icing smudged across his cheek, and every now and then, when they caught the light, sprinkles...sparkled...on various parts of the Cerberus' body. He stood bright-eyed and waggy-tailed in the kitchen, tried not to be intimidated by Ginger (she was so nice but so much bigger than he), and forced a laugh as he reached for his apron.
"Ha...ha..! And so do you!"
He carefully tied the apron behind his back, and tried to wrap the scarf around his head as best as possible. He failed. Frowning, he made a second attempt, managing to somehow tie it over his left eye. With a whine, he tried to remain calm, removed it once more, and tried again. The end result looked like a highly effeminate Rambo.
Thackery settled.

Junko was determined to be on time for this class. Her first battle...card...giving class and she wanted to make a good first impression. She hummed happily as she walked through the cafeteria into the kitchen, peeking inside to make sure she had the right place. She gasped softly when she was greeted by a deep voice, staring at the lunch...lady? Man? Per..son? She'd just call Ginger the Lunchperson for now. But it seemed she wasn't the first person here! That was good, it made her feel a little better, less awkward about being by herself and getting stuck alone if maybe no one else came. But why would someone not come aside from..forgetting? "Hello! Thank you!" Junko chirped to the wom--lunchperson, feeling more and more comfortable now that she was actually here.
She looked toward the aprons, smiling brightly and grabbing one to put on. At the mention of kerchiefs for their hair she paused a moment and looked toward her hair. "Um...Miss Ginger? I'm not sure my hair will allow me to keep one on." She gave a little huff, helping Junko tie her apron behind her neck.
"Indeed. I refuse to be bound." How absurd! Cover Her with a common scarf?! As if! Hmph! Junko grabbed a scarf anyway just in case Ginger insisted, finding a place to stand near Thackery and watching as he messed with his kerchif. She giggled and pressed her fingers to her lips.

Igneous made her way to the kitchens, turning one last time to make sure Chip had stayed outside as she had told him to. She wasn't exactly sure where all the ingredients for the meals came from and the last thing she wanted was for the little winged nuisance to become part of tomorrow's homework!
She was glad she wasn't the first to arrive, though she didn't know either of the other students. Wait... Hadn't she met the fellow with the scarrf and glitter during the elections?
Whatever.
She grabbed an apron and kerchief for herself. This didn't look like battle armor, maybe she had misread the flyer after all!

Tahki made her way into the class and quickly grabbed a scarf and an apron. The gryphon successfully wrapped her scarf around her head and tied her apron on her first try. Though, the gryphon kept her headphones on. Didn't know when she'd need to ignore some one. It was a safe bet to keep them. Yeah.
Now to get on with class and not call to much attention to her self. She needed that battle pass to complete her goal or make a step toward it. Tahki needed to learn how to be brave. She needed to know.
The gryphon silently blended in with the rest of the gathering group quickly becoming a faceless figure amongst her peers.

Julian had certainly come prepared. He wasn't much of a cook, not really, but he knew the basic rules of it. His hair was already tied back in a tail and he made sure not to wear any long sleeves or anything he... really liked. But when he walked in and Lunchlady Ginger mentioned the kerchiefs, he put it on along with the apron with no trouble at all.
"It's n-nice to m-meet you," he said to the lunchlady, finding her very... odd, but friendly, before moving to stand next to Tahki, giving her a reassuring smile. He let his gold gaze rove over the other students who had signed up for the "class". A dog boy was fidgeting, looking very excited about being there and there was a girl with... talking... hair. Another girl with wings who looked like she was made of stone, then Tahki and himself. By his count, there were two missing.

Malodore didn't mind aprons or scrubs - they were par for the course, excellent for keeping squirts of blood or other, more unsavory fluids from polluting one's person. However, these aprons were rather...
Um...
Well, not the most dignified thing in the entire world. Malodore thanked its unlucky stars that it had no hair to cover, thus sparing itself the kerchief, and slipped the apron on over its clothing. Pink did not exactly go well with black and red, but... well.
That done, the plague doctor surreptitiously surveyed its fellow classmates. It recognized a few from its other lessons, at least.

Alcyone glided into class and then noticed the aprons. Well, this was a home ec class. Grabbing the apron and the kerchief, Alcyone wouldn't want to get anything on her clothes especially blood or anything. Speaking to Lunchlady Ginger, "Thank you very much." The lunchlady looked very strange but this was Halloweentown. Though, this was strange 'armor' and she wondered what they could be possibly be doing in this class. Maybe she signed up for the wrong thing?
Smiling at the other students, the water demon stood next to Maladore and she had seen the plague doctor in some of her classes though she hadn't introduced herself yet. "Hello there. This class seems a little strange to be a home ec class doesn't it?" Alcyone wrapped her voluptuous hair up with the kerchief and somehow it managed to stay up. She was very eager for this class to start because she wanted to know what home ec had to do with battle passes.

"I've investigated the meals here, and I'm quite certain some of the dishes are prepared from... ah... very large beasts. Still, presumably we will be armed with something suitable..." Perhaps a large cleaver or other prodigious butchery blade. "Presumably we will need to learn how to prepare the meat for cooking. Given the battle passes, I assume the meat may well be alive when we begin..." Malodore thought momentarily of the very large tentacles it'd seen in the stew last week. This might be difficult.

Tahki returned the owl demons smile with one of her very own. Julian was always a good spirit to brighten any class or club she had with him.
"Wonder what we're going to be doing to get battle passes," She whispered to her owl demon friend. The gryphon never thought of home ec as a dangerous type of class... But she'd been proven wrong before... Maybe she'd be proven wrong yet again.
Oh she hoped not. The gryphon really hoped this was an easy smooth class...

Oh my! More people were coming in! Junko looked around to see if she spotted anyone she knew. She hadn't recognized either of the names on the signup sheet before her, and she hadn't come back before class to see who had joined in after her. But Thackery was here, a person she didn't know but a name she recognized from the elections? So far she really didn't know any of these other people. Junko frowned with worry, the insecurities she'd been trying to dispose of through socializing flaring up. This was something that made school fun, right? Meeting new people! Her eyes turned warily toward the back of her head and she bit her lip, worried that She would do something that would ruin this attempt she was doing to make. Make friends. Make friends. She wanted to make lots of friends.
"I think it's strange we'll be getting battle passes from this. The name might just be very deceiving to get our hopes up into thinking it's an easy A?" Junko piped up with a giggle in reply to the girl with the...were her ears fins? That was neat! And her hair was so pretty. She blinked and stared at the one with the beak, her face paling a little at the suggestion they were making. The meat was going to be alive? I-in animal form, right? Not...like...ground up and living and...gross! She tried to distract herself from the thought of being attacked by a pile of meat by seeing who else was here now, giving the other two students a curious look. Wow! They had such pretty wings!

"Donno, hope it's nothing too tough, though..." Julian replied, glancing again at the other students. The final pair of students came in, rounding off his count to seven and that meant this was it. The one that walked in right after him was in his Shadow class... and his Lit class, too. And the girl he didn't recognize. He overheard part of their conversation about what they might be doing and it made sense when he thought of what the cafeteria served. His wings fidgeted at his back idly, hoping they wouldn't get tugged on or feathers torn out or anything like that.
He caught the girl with the talking hair looking at Tahki and him and his eyes widened in surprise for a moment before returning his attention to the Ms. Ginger. "We're not doing this on our own though, so it should be okay..." he added to his friend, giving her a side-ways glance. It was seven of them against whatever Ms. Ginger wanted to trow up against them... Or maybe he was still stuck in his home-mindset of banding together in a task or fight. He seemed to constantly need reminding that here at school, sometimes he would be on his own...

Tilting her head as he spoke, Alcie was interested to see these beasts but she had never had to kill something and then eat it... That seemed a little primitive for her tastes but she would do whatever the Lunchlady had planned. Alcie wasn't the type to get squeamish either so this activity seemed promising in the 'entertainment' department.
"That would be interesting and potentially troublesome. Hopefully we're at least armed with something unless we're expected to utilize our fear somehow. Having to prepare a meal in that manner sounds appropriate for this class. We'll see I guess." Smiling widely at Maladore, Alcyone was also curious to know what these battle passes were for and if they would be needing them for something in the future. Her fear was still relatively weak and she knew that she wouldn't be able to hold off anything for very long. Though, at this point she really wasn't too concerned about getting hurt.
