It's New York 1923, coffee shops, jazz clubs, and strip clubs are very popular with the mobsters. The kids hang out in the corner stores, and the restaurants of the mobsters. Most of the kids don't even bother to go to school. It's the kind of neighborhood where everybody knows everybody. Secrets don't stay secrets for very long...
This is a 1920’s organized crime roleplay! It has a loose plot and is open to all types of characters as long as they make sense to the time period.
There are two main crime families in town, Vario & Carmine. Vario is more
prominent than the Carmine family. The heads of both familes are going to be mostly NPCs. Meaning that they can be controlled by everyone. i.e. The boss said we gotta do this. They will be more or less mentioned in posts, and if the time comes for someone to HAVE to play them, then we will figure it out.
That being said, you DO NOT have to be part of one of the familes, you could be a shop owner or a hang around.

The Rules
1. You have to be literate. This means at least a paragraph per post.
2. The is no rating in this roleplay. Basically, anything goes but sex or anything that goes along with it. That's just gross, so take it to PMs. You can say your character(s) did such things, but no details what-so-ever.
3. You can have as many characters as you want. As long as you can keep up with all of them!
4. You CAN kill people in this roleplay, but the people involved in the killing must be okay with it, also I need to know.
5. You have to stay in character, meaning you have to stick to the time period. That means, girls can not be part of any gang or even have a 'real' role in the mob. Sorry, that's just the way it was back then.
6. Please PM ALL character profiles to me.
7. More will be added if I feel the need for them. ^.^

Appearance: Tall, and decked out in a white pinstripe suit with a white fedora. Tommy has blue eyes and a 5'o clock shadow on his jaw. He has curly brown hair that's usually mussed up from his hat or a tussle in bed. He doesn't walk but swaggers everywhere, like a 1920's Jack Sparrow.
Personality: Tommy goes through life as if it's all one big drunken game. A womanizer and a bully, Tommy sleazes through the city on the pomp of his Father and family's name. He isn't interested in helping with the family business unless it benefits him directly.

History: Tommy is the second son of the Vario's Donfather. He's a disappointment to his parents in their eyes as he does not take his place seriously, whereas his older brother is the perfect example of a future leader.

Personality: James is for the most part quiet, but don’t let that fool you. He likes to drink and is quick to shoot first and ask questions later. He likes the ladies and isn’t afraid to spend a pretty penny on one. He takes his friendships and family seriously, and will do anything to protect them.
Family: Vario family associate
History: James got his nickname “Bruno” because it was his father’s name and James is constantly confused as his father. His father was gunned down on June 23, 1918 when James was 20. His father was an outstanding man and James prefers to be called Bruno in his honor. He grew up being best friends with Tommy Vario since his old man worked for the Vario family. He is a low ranking member but in more than excellent standing within the family. Everyone listens to what he has to say.
Other Information: He spends so much time at the family restaurant that people joke about him being part of the wallpaper.

It was a rainy day and the sun was only able to peak through the clouds from time to time. The streets were as busy as ever. People begging for food or change, a few business men walking briskly past them worrying about getting to work on time.
What are you doing?
