Elliot was out scouting, the Boss had been .... edgy lately so Elliot had offered to do some recon in the surrounding area, just to get out of his way. Occasionally he stopped and thought about carrot cake when his stomach grumbled. He had to admit to himself he'd gotten bored lately, it seemed that there was little to do, most Soquili stayed out of the lands which suited Blood but a stallion like Elliot needed some action, or at least something to distract him. As it was there was little more than a few flies that he swished away with his tail easily. He yawned as the sun warmed his fur and made him a little sleepy, after a quick glance around to check if anyone was looking, he lay on the grass, eyes drooping a little, his muzzle slowly making it's way towards the ground as his body felt heavier and heavier with the first notions of sleep.

Elliot nodded off quickly, the rays on his back warming his body as he snoozed. The normally alert stallion now oblivious to all around him. He didn't hear the soft hoofbeats of another Soquili approaching him, neither did he twitch when her breath moved the hairs on his ears, which were inclined to stick right up even when he was asleep.

"Boo."

Elliot bolted awake, his hooves flailing for a second as he realised he was laying down, his heart thudded in his chest so hard he thought it would burst right out.

"Remember me..?"

"Dice?! what...what are you doing here?" he frantically asked, while he tried to regain his feet, she was lucky that he had been lying down, because normally if he'd been surprised like that he'd have struck first, see who it was later. Taking a deep breath once he was up he whipped his head around looking for the Boss "Where's Blood?!" he said, voice edged with ..something not quite his normal calm tone.

Elliot frowned, his ears twitching this way and that for sounds of his Boss. He was surprised to see Dice here especially after..... what happened before she left, he flicked his head around looking for anyone else. He opened his mouth to tell her that she should leave when she calmly explained, "You knew what i meant Dice" he sighed, relaxing once his mind processed the fact Blood had allowed her back to his territory. "Well, i'm glad you're back Dice, we all missed you" he replied, smiling.

Elliot grinned, happy that Dice was back, "Well, everyone was pretty hurt when you left, but we eventually went back to how things were, maybe a little less happy than before" he said honestly, he wouldn't lie to Dice, he didn't need to. "So where did you go? did you have fun at least?" he asked, falling into step with her next to him.

Elliot nodded, his tail swishing to keep the flies off. "At least you had fun Dice, we.....we were afraid you would never come back, I for one promise never to fight over you" he smiled at her. He looked over at Dice and knew that although she had come back, his feelings for her were that she was his great friend and would do all he could to make her happy, she was ... family.

He looked over at her after the suggestion, looking shocked "i could never leave, Blood would either hunt me down or never let me back home, i go out on his orders ... mostly" he said, looking away a little embarrassed, his journey out today hadn't been .. exactly ran past Blood first but he'd been so busy lately he had just wanted some time alone. "this is my home, it's always been my home ... how could i leave the herd?" he said, with just a tinge of sadness... and maybe something else.. an idea.

Elliot thought to himself for a moment, then switched his mood and beamed at her, "He's not all that bad, i'm sure that if you promised to come back really soon, he'd let you go all over the place" he said breezily, nudging her neck with his nose as he sensed some unrest in her. He wiggled his ears a little for her, knowing that it made her smile. As long as she didn't touch them, he didn't mind.

He nodded and laughed "He'd be a nervous wreck without me, having to deal with the twins, let alone Ace, Boris or any of the others" he giggled, pawing at the ground with his hoof a little, eager to move away from the leaving the heartland herd conversation. Privately he thought that since Dice had left, but came back without Blood flipping out, maybe he could too. Lord knew he needed the break. He was loyal to a fault though so these thoughts stayed ever secret. Putting the herd.... and Blood before himself.

Elliot wasn't privy to Blood's private thoughts about everyone, as much as the Boss relied on him, he never really confided in the long eared stallion. Elliot was loyal to a fault however. Never questioned Blood when he gave him an order or some other such task to carry out. Maybe that mattered more than confiding in him. Elliot didn't know, what he did know was his life was Bloods and he wouldn't want to change it for the world.

Elliot smiled widely at Dice's reaction "See, when you laugh, everything is better" he said to her, wiggling them a little more, just to tease her. He frowned a little as she looked away and he cocked his head slightly, his ears now at odd angles. His mind not reaching as far as to wonder why she'd looked away at the mention of the cat.

"AIEEE!" he cried when she tugged at his ears, instinctively he was about to rear, but stopped himself just in time. It was Dice... only Dice... calm, breathe. When she calmly trotted off, he looked at her retreating back, slightly offended but what could he do, it was Dice after all, and if he so much as touched her with harm in mind (not that he ever would of course) .. he'd be a dead Stallion, that or forever hunted by agents of Blood, of not the Boss himself. "Dice! what was that for?" he asked when she turned to look at him.
