I'm seeing a doctor. Going to the women's clinic this weekend if I can. Any questions I should ask?

I hope everything is okay. ;=; I can't think of any questions to ask besides "wtf".

I'm seeing a doctor. Going to the women's clinic this weekend if I can. Any questions I should ask?
"Why is my vag still bleeding and why haven't I died yet?"
"What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?"
"If I just kissed her once does it make me gay?"
"So, what are you doing later?"

But seriously, I'd ask why I was still menstrating. I couldn't really think of much more than that to ask.

I don't know what I'd ask apart from 'wtffffff' a lot.

I went through a box of 40 tampons... in three weeks.

Masturbation is officially painful now. But I really just want to see my family doctor, so I'm calling my mom for her professional, motherly opinion later today.

My periods used to be heavy enough to go through a box of 40 each period.

Hence why I couldn't understand how people could use pads their entire period. Now that I am on BC they are light...LIGHT ENOUGH THAT LAST ******** PERIOD IT WAS SO ******** LIGHT I BARELY NEEDED TO USE PANTY LINERS AND FREAKED BECAUSE OMG BABBY? AND HAD TO TAKE A PREGGO TEST TO CALM MY a** DOWN.

But in the future, BC can help control this kind of thing. I usually get my period the Tuesday after I take my last pill of the month and it's light and ends that Sunday.

If you're bad at an everyday sort of thing, maybe consider depo or implanon (depending on your weight, I can't use implanon because I am over the ideal weight for it.) Or even Neuvaring!

So, it still hasn't stopped. But this is what I've come to know:

I spotted for two weeks, starting mid-October, and the heavy flow started following Halloween. As of yet, the heavy flow is still going strong, generally with big clots. I've talked to the advise nurse at my doctor's office back home and tried to set up an appointment with a doctor here -- and from the looks of things, I probably won't get in to see one before I go home for Thanksgiving in another week and a half.

What was funny about calling the advice nurse was that she immediately thought I was having a miscarriage. I told her that would be strange, seeing as I'm not currently sexually active. She was really pretty fun to chat with, and my doctor's assistant (who I'm on a first-name basis with) got back to me by the time I was sitting down for dinner. I love my doctor.

I haven't felt faint at all from blood loss, but I have been trying to be extremely attentive to my body since I called the doctor. Drinking lots of fluids and making sure I don't accidentally give myself TSS. I've gone through two boxes of tampon (one regular, one super) and I'm almost out of supplies, so I need to hit the store tomorrow or Friday, or I'm going to have to start using rags to stop the bleeding.

I've been moody, but that's a given. I'm going to discuss the option of BC for future usage just to get it under control and regulated again. Hopefully, it won't interfere with any medications I'm already taking. That is all.

ADDENDUM: This is my hope that I don't have fibroids or anything that may cause me to need to a hysterectomy -- as I actually want to have children, I think I would be emotionally crippled if I lost that ability.

I'd suggest a menstrual cup. It's reusable, and will save you tons of money, and imo, more discreet than tampons/pads. Plus, no risk of TSS.

Moon Cup
Diva Cup

Those are the two most popular, but there are many other brands out there.

That looks pretty handy! I'd give that a try when I have a job and can buy one for myself discreetly. :B

Cait, ask your doctor about this, to rule it out. PCOS can also give you irregular periods that can last up to a few weeks.
