Sadly I haven't played Kingdom Hearts yet. Was actually planning on buying a PS2 so I could play them all. Although a friend recommended I play the Final Fantasy games first because of all the references between the series. thoughts?

Played Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories.
Planning on getting Birth by Sleep since I so happen to own a PSP.
Don't really care much more about the series right now. Maybe after I'm done with Birth by Sleep.

The only one I played was 358/2 Days and I liked it. I own KH 2 but only got through about 1/4 of it before I quit playing it.

I always liked the Kingdom Hearts Series. I wasn't too crazy about it until 358/2 days came out. birth by sleep was pretty good, too. im looking foward to the next game in the series biggrin they already released the titles to the next 3 games coming out in the series.

Personally, I would say don't bother, but that's mainly because I'm not at all a Squeenix lover. Some people love Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts...I see recycled plots about memories, mental breakdowns, and emo prettyboys. I'd suggest seeing if you can borrow stuff first to play a couple FF games or KH1 to see if you like it enough before dropping the money for the system/games.

Although a friend recommended I play the Final Fantasy games first because of all the references between the series. thoughts? Kingdom Hearts 2 was actually my first video game, then I started playing Final Fantasy in which I started going "Ohhhh" to a few things. I would have to agree with Nassiral that maybe you should rent the games first because if you buy them and don't like them, Gamestop won't trade them in. (Except 358/2 days and Birth by Sleep which are on newer consoles.) Also if you're used to games which are just the gameplay with very few cutscenes, then prepared to watch cutscene after cutscene with both Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. These games are RPG's (Role-Playing-Games for those who play shooters and are thinking grenades.) so they have a lot of story. You can skip the cutscenes in all Kingdom Hearts games and most Final Fantasies, but that would be a waste unless you already saw them a million times due to the fact that the cutscenes let you know where you are and give youan idea of what your doing. Also most Final Fantasies have a turn based combat though the older games' battle system was much smoother than the newer ones. However the 60 bucks you'll spend on a PS2 will be well worth it because even i Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts don't appeal to you there are some of the older Call of Duty games along with Medal of Honor. If you prefer fighters there's Tekken, Soul Caliber, Street Fighter Mortal Kombat and a whole lot more. Hope this huge block of text helped! biggrin

Kingdom Hearts mixed together 2 of my favorite childhood things. Disney and Final Fantasy. I love meeting FF characters and getting ideas of what they did when they were younger (with KH creative licensing) Goofy has always been my favorite Disney character so him being a main character was a big plus for the game. I've played all of them except BbS (PSP sux IMO)
Also fave keyblade=Metal Chocobo

We all can amit that Kingdom Hearts made most of the Disney characters look awsome! I have KH2 and beat it on proud mode. I borrowed KH1 from a friend, beat that 2 on proud mode. I don't have a DS so I can't play Roxas. sad then Planning to get Birth by Sleep. KH2 was like the best KH game.Loved fighting the 1000 heartless part. Sephiroth was hard! My cuz beat him tho. Loved playing around in my Final Form, it's wicked. Then Anti Final form (I like calling it the heartless version of Sora) is like really weak, but fast as sonic man. Good Game!

So, from recent news, Nomura has said: "I’m thinking Kingdom Hearts III will be about going to cure their 'pain'" I seriously cannot wait for this game. And I should really buy a PSP right now.
