I'm not the only one doing NaNo this year, I know that.
I'll be gone for most of November.
Now excuse me while I attempt to catch up. Heat exhaustion's doing a number on my energy reserves.

National Novel Writer's Month- writing a novel with 50,000 words in 30 days.
It's fun, but it's rough.

I always think "It won't suck up my muse! =D" but it DOES.
I'm lovin' my story however. :B

>.> I'm doing a real bad job about the NaNo challenge. I've started, but now I'm going really slow. I've been doing too many things at once, it's not been mixing well >.< Oh well. When I really get started (needs to be soon if I'm going to accomplish the goal) Hopefully I won't make my already slow posting slower.

Oh my, how did I NOT see this earlier? Not cause I've been ignoring Gaia and the internet in general in favor of writing, no, not at all! >_>;;
At present, I have just over 13,000 words--still about a day ahead. I'd like to get 14k, 15k if I can manage it, as I have a lot to do this week. And this weekend. And the next week.
. . . Yeeeeeeaaaaaaah, let's get back to writing, shall we? ^^;;
EDIT: WRIMOES, PLEASE REMEMBER TO MAKE SURE THE TIME ZONE IN YOUR USER SETTINGS ON THE NANO SITE IS CORRECT. Otherwise, come November 30th, this site may say it's past midnight for you when it really isn't, and then won't let you validate to win, and that would SUCK.

Geebus. Ouch.
Made it with two days to spare. Cumulatively, the story now has somewhere around 104k words.
Well, guess what? It took me 80k to hit the climax.
In the amount of words it took Orson Scott Card to finish Ender's Game, add 16 thousand words, and that'll be where my story got to the start of the climax.
Oi vey. Oh, well. Maybe I'll finish it between now and next November- I don't think I could do this story for a third NaNo, but I won't let it sit half-finished!
How'd you all do?

I chugged along very nicely this year. I had a good buffer for the most part, the words were flowing pretty well (mainly due to two of my characters being unable to stop fighting every time they showed up together in a scene), and I had some great music to listen to, courtesy of Roy. I hit 25k, then had three nights in a row with a concert each night, which meant I had no time whatsoever to write, and then the next day was the first day of Thanksgiving Break for me.
And the I proceeded to lose all motivation to write. XD;;
BUT I got 25,417 words! Which means I've got about 30k total for this particular story, adding in the first chapter bit I wrote for one of my fiction class's workshops, pre-NaNo. I also know exactly where the story is going, even if I don't have a solid handle on all of the characters yet (two of them went and swapped personalities on me, without telling me until it was time to introduce them, and then several more showed up out of nowhere). Fortunately for me, I now have a solid idea of the plot, conflict and all, and everything makes so much more sense than it did in this story's original form.
All in all, quiet a fun NaNo, even if I did putz out in the 20ks, which makes this NaNo my worst one to date in regards to word count. XP

I tried that, but didn't make it. I was working on a great story, well in my opinion it was great, but then I hit 38,419 works. And my mind just wiped out all ideas to continue the story and I was like NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! and then I gave ups when we had a thunderstorm and the power surge killed my computer memory. and my story along with it. You ahve no idea how close I was to becoming a god killer.
