According to MovieWeb.com, the Silent Hill 2 Production will be moving forward and in 2011 we should expect to see it in theaters.

I hope that Jodelle at the least returns as Alessa and Sean Bean comes back. I'm so excited! I remember movie reviewers loved this movie and thought it was hot. The only people who didn't like it was Yahoo News, but ******** Yahoo. xD

Bloody-Disgusting has learned that Lionsgate International will start offering pre-sales of the impending sequel Silent Hill 2 at the 2010 American Film Market.
Silent Hill 2 was first announced last September, with Silent Hill screenwriter Roger Avary writing the new screenplay. A few weeks after that initial announcement, we reported that Roger Avary was sentenced to a year in prison following a drunk driving accident that claimed the life of his passenger. Avary was released from prison back in August, and has apparently now finished the Silent Hill 2 script.
It still isn't clear if original Silent Hill director Christophe Gans will return to direct. And it also isn't known what this new sequel story will focus on. Radha Mitchell, Sean Bean, Laurie Holden, Deborah Kara Unger and Jodelle Ferland starred in the original Silent Hill. It also isn't known which actors, if any, will reprise their roles in this new movie.
