The first thing Sakngea noticed the was the smell.
It was heavenly. Delicious, tempting. It was a smell that had Sakn's stomach doing flips and howling like a starving dog. He pressed a hand to his bare belly and felt it shift and rumble beneath his fingers. This caused the boy to groan, realizing just how hungry he was.
Today was market day, and he was helping his father to unload the netted fish they had caught onto a cart to take to market and sell. The sun was glaring down on him and the fishing crew, and already Sakn had stripped himself of his shirt, which hung down around his waist. The boy had been so excited earlier in the morning to go with his father that he had skipped eating breakfast.
Now as the mid-afternoon sun burned down on his bare back and that sweet, deliciously delicious smell tickled his nose(and tortured his stomach), all Sakn could think of doing was finding something to eat. And soon. He pressed his hand harder against his stomach as it rumbled and moaned again. He should have really eaten something, even if it was his mothers disgusting porridge.
"'Ey boy," Sakn turned his head to face his father, who hopped off the boat to come check on his son, and tried to feign a good smile for the big-bellied man, "Dun' you try t'look awl manly," Noreaksey warned light-heartedly, shaking a finger, "Jus' a secon'ago ya wus nearly doubled over in pain. Y'sick or somethin'?" there was hint of worry in the mans voice, and he let a large calloused hand rest on the redheads shoulder.
"Jus'hungry," Sakn mumbled, because he knew his father would willingly send him off to get food, but now feeling bad about leaving when there was still work to do.
But of course, there was no arguing with Noreaksey when he made up his mind, and soon Sakngea found his dark-haired father pushing him towards the market (and that so-sweet smell!) with a hand-load of coins in hand. He was to get what ever he wanted, but had to remember to buy his mother one of those fancy little cakes she wanted while he was out.
Sakn had accepted (partially eager, partially not so much) and quickly jogged over to the market. He bought himself a large lunch box, full of vegatables, aromatic rice (a guilty pleasure of the boys) and prahok jien. His mouth watered as he smelled all those delicious smells, but he managed to hold off on gorging just long enough to buy his mother a fancy little white cake with pink(shudder) sugar roses on it. After getting the cake boxed, Sakn grabbed a couple sweet buns to tide him over while the boy hunted for a spot to enjoy his lunch(and ignored the stares he got from people as he trapezed around without his shirt on).
In the end, Sakn found himself wandering outside the city, and quickly left the beaten path and searched for a warm spot to sit as the sun eased, no longer angrily glaring down on the earth. He soon came upon a large flat(ish) rock, and quickly climbed on top; setting his lunch out before him.
The boy quickly started on his lunch, happily munching away as he basked in the sun, stomach rumbling happily.

The king of the rock found that he was mightily displeased. Earlier that day he had set out from his yurt with great plans and great intentions, but it was all for naught.
There was a certain rock out there that the filthy Mongol possessed a deep love for, you see. It was his domain, and when he stood atop the rock, he felt as if he were the king of the world. That very hunk of stone that Bataar adored was where he thought he might even set up his yurt next-- it was a pleasant idea, and he was extremely proud of himself for thinking it up. He'd been absolutely certain that he would no longer need to reside in Kyung's backyard, and that he could live in peace just off the beaten path-- a man and his kingdom, a choice piece of real estate.
It hadn't been just a flimsy fantasy, either! He'd been absolutely serious about that fantastic little rock. And yet... it had been colonized. The captain allowed himself the tiniest of whimpers before taking a deep breath and manning up. The boy eating on his rock would soon find that life was no so easy when you were missing an appendage or two!
Bat cracked his knuckles and advanced, deciding to make himself known. "Hey, you!" he shouted, coming to stand at the very edge of the rock, his eyes settling on Sakngea with proper indignation.
"What the hell are you doing on my rock?!"

"Hey you!"
Sakn's nose scrunched as the words broke his peace and, more importantly, quiet. Why was it he always was being bothered when he didn't want to be. From being pushed into lakes by stupid legion men to being harassed to clean by his mother, it seemed Sakngea was never just left to be.
As was the case now. The redhead set down his food, took his time to finish swallowing what he was eating already, and then turned to glare at the person bothering him. And for a moment, his eyes flickered from a glare to something else. Holy gods, the guy was huge! Sakn enviously stared at those arms and thought of how they rivaled even his father's! Then the redheads face was back to irritated, because now Mr. Big-arms was accusing him of something.
"Uhh...whu'?" Sakn mused, scratching his head. What did he mean? "Wha' y'mean y'ur rock?" the fiery fisherboy finally questioned, giving the man before him a look over, then looking at the rock. He disliked being yelled at, and also disliked being bothered during eating. "I dun' see y'ur name on it, and iffin y'gotta know, I wus jus' eatin' my lunch here is'all."
No reason to get so angry(look at the pot calling the kettle black). Sakn then stared back at Bataar, his face set in a neutral position. For now. There was irritation boiling in his stomach, but he wasn't sure how angry he had to be at this guy. Yet.
