Why did Elegancia choose to 'patrol' in the malls, you ask? Simple! She could kill two birds with one stone. Fabulous shopping and youma stomping, all in one day's activity! It was ideal, actually, since youma happened to appear in the malls more often than you think. The Negaverse was getting smart like that-- they apparently knew that people simply could not resist the allure of a mall.

So, it was no surprise when Elegancia was waltzing down the mall's lengthy halls and a youma 'suddenly' burst out of the shadows. She had a formula-- pretend to be just as shocked as the civilians, fall-back somewhere and out of sight, transform, and hide anything she had purchased behind a ficus. This time, however, the youma was just a bit different. It rolled out of an antique carpet store and bore its intricate design for all to see.

Seriously? A carpet?

Rosalind stared at the rug-youma with a somewhat skeptical expression. She dashed towards it, showed no signs of fear, then struck a sassy sailor soldier pose. "Carpets need to know their place," she started in a haughty tone, "and that place is on the floor and beneath my feet." She hopped on top of the intricate rug triumphantly, only to notice that it appeared to be. Well, it couldn't be laughing, because it had no mouth. But if she ever heard a rug laugh, it was then.

As she stood upon it, golden pumps glittering in the light, Rosalind felt it stir beneath her. In an instant, it had knocked her down and rolled itself up with little effort on its part. Rosalind was in a real pinch! The creature began to roll around the mall at incredible speeds, never stopping for even an instant. It cut corners like it was nothing, did not discriminate in who it rolled over, and even slid down escalators.

Rosalind felt as thought she was going to be sick. Was this the end of the Soldier of Wealth?!

Eve Summers had not gone shopping in quite a while, not when she was dealing with chaos on both sides of her life. On one hand, she worried about Serenade, on the other, she was juggling schoolwork and looking for an apartment. Shopping helped to take away worries, at least, although she had tried on outfit after outfit and still wasn't satisfied. There was a lot of pent up frustration she wished she could let out, but bit back because she didn't want to burden anyone.

There were some screams outside and Eve immediately rushed to henshin, although she swore she heard some laughter as well. She had never heard of people laughing at youma before, and when she peeked out of her hiding place behind a pillar, she finally knew why.

...If Eve hadn't known that a youma meant serious business and had to be taken down, she would have doubled over in fits of laughter at the sight of the senshi atop the carpet monster. I think I'm losing my sense of humor. She reflected, as Sailor Flora, struggling to keep the grin off her face, shouted. "Hey youma! I thought carpet rides were supposed to be for two!"

In response to Sailor Flora's arrival, the carpet-youma came to a sudden halt, although for some reason Rosalind held on tight. She'd be damned before she slid across the nasty mall tile. Almost instantaneously, the rug rolled up burrito-style and took off with Rosalind once more, rolling along the floor.

Well, darn it all. Turns out Rosalind should have let go when the going was good.

As it rolled along the tile, it made a bee-line for Sailor Flora, the particularly cute Soldier of Spring. Rosalind had never seen her in her time of being a scout, but there was a first for everything! Rosalind could not see anything clearly as the demented rug tumbled around, making her feel more and more sick with every roll.

She attempted to cry out for help, but all that came out was: "hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee-------------," then a choke. The Soldier of Wealth was obviously holding something back mid-word. Everything began to whir in her ears! The copper brunette needed help, and fast!

Youma at least, were predictable because they always liked heading straight for senshi. It was a good thing, to be able to distract it from any poor civilians it had been currently targeting, but sometimes, like now, it was hard to decide what to do. Especially when this youma was particularly... ahem, flexible.

It was also hard to use her attack on the youma. The other senshi was in such close proximity, and Flora doubted that Rosalind would actually listen if she told her to hold her breath. And how would pollen work on something that couldn't breathe? Unless of course, the carpet youma was somehow terrified of being dirty.

... And if powers failed, it all boiled down to physical attacks.

Namely, flopping down atop the carpet youma and pinning it down. The youma struggled underneath her as Flora tried to hold her balance, her gloved fingers prying desperately at the tassels at the edge to unravel and get the senshi out of there.

The rug youma, in all its intricately woven glory, whipped back and forth. It was intent on sending Flora flying, or atleast knocking her off of it. As the Soldier of Spring's hands tugged and pulled on the tassels, Rosalind sure enough found a way to pull herself out. Although her skirt was a bit mangled and her hair wasn't as perfect as it was at the start of the battle, the Soldier of Wealth was in one piece. She did, however, look a little green in the face.

"I cannot thank you enough," Rosalind started as she gasped for air, "it smelled in there like old man feet, and I did not like it." Rosalind waved a hand before her nose, then composed herself for a moment. "I am Sailor Rosalind, the Soldier of Wealth. And yourself?"

Unfortunately, Rosalind had left her guard down-- her back was facing the carpet youma, which had somehow managed to stand on its 'feet.' It shook the top half of itself, the tassels waving back and forth, attempting to intimidate Flora. In the process, it lunged towards Rosalind and had done something awful-- carpet burn. It skid across Rosalind's slender and sleek legs, leaving a ferocious red mark on the way down. "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!!!!!" Rosalind began to hop on one foot, holding the damaged leg. "It hurts!!!"

Flora wasn't a very heavy girl, so it wasn't easy to keep the carpet down. At least, even as it tossed her about, she had managed to help the other senshi out of her predicament, and Flora rolled off the carpet before it decided to get more vicious.

"No problem!" She told Rosalind breathlessly. Even though she hadn't been wrapped on the carpet, she had been in pretty close proximity to it too. The other senshi was right, the carpet had a pretty horrible smell, and Flora had wrinkled her nose while wrestling with it. "Sailor Flora, Senshi of Spring!"

If the youma could talk, and voiced its thoughts, Flora would have rolled her eyes and said she had met scarier youma than it. "Flora Pollen Cloud!" The attack was aimed directly at the carpet youma, although Flora didn't know if it could do any damage. At least it would distract it from hurting her fellow senshi?

Flora's attack seemed to be rather effective on the rug-youma! After all, what kind of of carpet liked being covered in filth? To the youma, pollen was most definitely filth. It flailed around, trying to shake the pollen off of itself. As it did so, Rosalind stared (while hopping around in pain, of course), and had something of an ah-ha!! moment. If the carpet didn't like that, then it most definitely wouldn't like coffee spilled all over it.

Looking around frantically, Rosalind found a businessman holding a cup of Starbucks. It seemed fresh, so Rosalind dashed towards him and grabbed the latte out of his hands. The whole thing was rude, so Rosalind curtsied as an apology, of course-- in addition, Rosalind would later return as Elegancia and purchase him a new one.

She returned to the scene of the deranged carpet and Flora, which was still rolling around and trying to get its threadwork free of pollen. At the most fortuitous moment, which was when it was wide open, Rosalind removed the top of the latte and spilled the scalding beverage all over the rug. "How does it feel to be burned, you evil rug?!" She wanted to cackle evilly, but that most definitely was not something a lady would do.

"Whew." Flora murmured with a grin; her attack had actually done something! She had doubted it would work but thankfully, the youma did not seem happy at having pollen stuck to it. Both senshi stared at it as it flopped around, trying to figure out what to do next. Flora was still trying to brainstorm, while Rosalind dashed off and she watched as the senshi returned with a coffee cup.

...She could see where this was going.

Again, Flora had to hold back her laughter. Instead, she manifested her amusement with a smile. "Nice one!" Now if only there was a guardian cat around they could set on the carpet and tear it to shreds... but they probably weren't that lucky. "Can your attack destroy it?" She mused, glancing over at the Senshi of Wealth.

As if it were having a seizure, the carpet flailed around on the mall's tiled floor in extreme agony. Rosalind wondered if it had the capability to feel pain, or if it was upset over the fact that no one would want to purchase it now that it had been pollinated and sullied. Would anyone have bought a demonic rug in the first place, anyways? The brunette watched it squirm around with something of a twisted smile-- yeah, that's what it deserved for almost making her barf all over herself!!

"While I do have a splendid attack, rest assured," Rosalind began, briefly removing her gaze from the rug, "but I am not so sure if it is capable of dusting this awful monster of a carpet. I'll give it a shot, though!" The Soldier of Wealth snapped her fingers, then called out her magical incantation-- Sterling Silver Volley-- coins began to rain out of the mall's ceiling thereafter. They didn't discriminate who they struck, as civilians, senshi, and rug were all pelted. Rosalind smiled sheepishly, all while being struck in the arm by a coin herself. "Sorry!"

The rug didn't seem to like being pelted by coins, but it didn't seem too distraught, either. It wasn't dusted, at any rate. What could the two soldiers do? Rosalind's eyes glanced over at a gardening tool shop...

Who knew a youma would be so vain, Flora thought, an amused smirk briefly flickering over her face as she watched it writhe about on the floor. It was sadistic, really, to feel pleased at it's pain, and this thought washed the laughter away into grimness. But youma caused pain and destruction too, she convinced herself, remembering all her bruises. Rosalind too, had gotten hurt by this very youma.

Coins bonked on her head, and Flora's arms instinctively rose to protect her head from the attack. "It's alright!" She understood that sometimes one couldn't help what their attacks did. As the flurry of coins began to trickle to a halt, Flora followed the Senshi of Wealth's gaze and then grinned at the other.

The Senshi of Spring ran over to the shop and grabbed... borrowed, she told herself, two hedge trimmers and handed one over to Rosalind with a raised eyebrow. "Let's prune this weed of a carpet, hmm?"

Rosalind took the offered hedge-trimmers and smiled sadistically. "Yes, let's!!" She lunged toward the heinous carpet, snapping the blades together repeatedly. There was a satisfactory thick ripping sound, and suddenly, the creature went limp. The sailor-suited duo both went on a clipping-frenzy, making sure the rug would not spring back up and burn the hell out of their soft and delicate skin.

Once everything was done with, a pile of carpet shreds and stitchery was before them-- shortly thereafter, the threads phased into dust and seemed almost melancholy. Nobody ever said it paid to be evil! "Such a talented carpet should have taken part in an Aladdin movie," she began, "not as an Agent for the Negaverse." Rosalind dropped the clippers atop the pile of dust, then smiled at Flora. "Thank you so much for rescuing me earlier," Rosalind said while rubbing the burn on her leg, "I don't know how much longer I would have lasted before I became really sick."

It was actually rather morbidly fun to be cutting up a youma; but hey, what senshi wouldn't feel satisfaction in ripping one of the monsters to pieces? It gave them great satisfaction as they stepped back to admire their handiwork.

"Aladdin was nice." Flora commented, grimacing down at the pile of youma dust. "If the Negaverse sends out more furniture youma, like teapot youma, I'm really going to question why they are drawing inspiration from Disney movies." It was so strange to imagine them sitting in a dark room and watching Disney movies together, and then pausing the movie and going 'Hey, wouldn't that make a great youma?'

"No problem." She told the other senshi with a grin. "I think we should reward ourselves with some shopping. Are you up for that?"

Shopping? Duh.

"Why, of course I'd love to go shopping-- we've more than earned it!!" Rosalind flipped her glossy locks over her alabaster-white shoulder, then grinned at the Soldier of Spring. Honestly, Rosalind felt awful over the fact that they had made such a mess. What kind of poor putz would have to clean their mess up? No wonder people hated them! In addition to this, the brunette felt guilt over stealing someone's latte and the two of them 'borrowing' the hedge-clippers from the gardening store.

Following closely behind Flora, Rosalind stared back at all the people who pointed and gasped and chattered. It was definitely unladylike, but it was truly tiring going through the same paparazzi-like act. "Actually, on second thought," Rosalind began, "I'm not so sure." She stopped in her tracks, her golden pumps clicking on the tile, "won't the police be arriving soon? I'm not so sure I'll want to be here for that-- civilian or otherwise." The brunette smiled in a melancholy manner, then curtsied at the blonde. "Once again, my condolences, but I have to get going." Before dashing off like Cinderella, Rosalind made sure to register Super Flora's information in her sailor-cell, just in case her assistance would ever be required again.

Who knew, maybe furniture youma were going to be the norm from now on?
