What if Hideyuki Kikuchi wrote a novella about D returning back to Ransylva? What would be your reactions to it?

I'd think it interesting to see what would happen if he did. D, after all, made Dan promise that even after he left, he would become a man and take care of his sister. I wonder what it would be like for Dan to see his 'big brother' again. Of course, the relationship between D's and Doris' character would be interesting to see renewed-- even if it was one-sided most of the time.

I guess I created this thread because I was extremely curious as to why Hideyuki Kikuchi alluded to Doris and Dan in the fourth book, Tale of the Dead Town. Usually, from what I've read so far, there has never been any mention of previous people D has met in other novels that follow-- brief, none of the novels have any connection with each other in relation to the characters, aside from D, Left Hand, and the Sacred Ancestor.

Another thing that also piques my interest is how Kikuchi-san can be so vague at times-- especially when it comes to describing D and his past. I've only collected 14 volumes in the series and aside from Twin-Shadowed Knight, I would really like to know more about his past-- as I'm sure most, if not all of us in this guild, want to know as well. I keep on telling myself that the next volume I read will have some indication of his past, or at least reveal a little more of who he is-- aside from his obvious occupation as a Vampire Hunter and being a dhampir.

Consider this thread a sister thread to "D's Origin's", which was created by my account, Dead Astronaut in Space.

I'd love to read about that. Out of all the character's I've yet to see D meet, Doris was my favorite. I also liked the feel of the town and that just made me want to read more. I was a little bummed when I found out he wasn't going to see or even mention Doris and Dan at all. But yes, I think that would be quite interesting to read. I wonder how Dan would react. Doris I suspect might just stand there with her mouth open as her brother runs up to D.

But I suppose leaving people behind is what being a Vampire Hunter means...especially if your name is D....
(Yay for cheesy lines!)

hm... I don't know xD
I guess it would be neat, but I like more logical progression and I guess it makes more sense for me to sorta forget about it?
idk
I'm just kinda like... whatever xp

It doesn't seem to be in D's nature to go anywhere he's not needed. So were he to return it would be because there is more vampire trouble in the town. He showed some care when he asked how they were doing, but it seems to me that H.K. (or K.H. if you use the Japanese ordering of his name) has been writing a more detached D than in the earliest books lately (though I haven't read the latest three due to needing to catch up after falling behind due to years of reading non-stop for college). I really wonder if he would treat Dan the same were he to have that job now instead of as the first book.
