Witches.
A name that could only mean black or white magical arts, women practicing spells and chanting to the moon for cleansing. This come waxing moon will be for something else. To find their familiars. Now familiars are creatures or even humans who are bound to the witch come the moon. They feel drawn to each other and the witches try to seek them out. Familiars are used for the helping of spells, and aid and even a lover, better to keep the witches strong magic intake for children. This time the strongest of the witches, from the silverlight clan will rise up and also pray to the moon goddess for her familiar, too bad it wasnt what she was hoping for.

This takes place in salem, the place where innocent women were hung, being claimed as witches. Those times are now over and to keep their identities they have permently stayed in salem to draw off suspition. To fully bind one to their familiar is simple. Mearly have each cut their finger and draw a star within a circle, then press their palms together and the witch will chant the oath to forever bind them both.

Sage Moonshine
hocous pocous...

                  It was the time.

Sage moved about from the other witches attending and stared openly at the moon, feeling it's rays hit her exposed skin and leave a warm feeling. It had been months until they finally agreed she was ready to look for a familiar and now her time has come, and sage couldnt be more happier. The others gave their congrats and pats on the backs and she mearly said thank you gave a wave and headed off like she had something to do. Sage was never comfortable around anyone, so being her made her senses on all fours.

And then the head of all the clans rose and said it was time, making sage even more nervous then before. Alright, I can do this.. She spoke to herself, moving into the circle where they would pray to the goddess of the moon and ask to bestow the thread of fate that would tie them to their familiars until they fully made a blood bond. Sage took her spot and held the others hands, closing her eyes before she started chanting along with everyone else, feeling the magic seering her body in joy from tonight. We bless thee moon goddess in hopes you can let us meet with our familiars. Show us the way with your guiding spirit so we may begin to grow..

And then it was over, the magic that was formed inside the circle hitting each one and then a feeling on longing surfaced inside them. A slight tug is what sage was feeling and then the elder spoke once more. "Go now sisters and find them!" And that was that, sage was free to find the person she was supposed to be with, moving through the forest with care, keeping her staff close at all times in case a blood thirsty leech appeared..They were always after witches blood..

Nykyrian Syn Zarek

Nykyrian walked through the forest, just enjoying the full moon and the beauty around him. He had already hunted, and was sated, his hunger dimmed greatly by the witch he had fed from. That witch was already home safe, her body weak from the willing donation to him. He sighed and looked up to the moon, his silver eyes glowing slightly as the light hit them. "What to do now?" He said to himself as he leaned against a tree with his hands in his pockets.

"I wonder if there will ever be something to keep me occupied for more then a few hours. This is starting to bore me. Even my garden is starting to not be entertaining anymore." Nykyrian sighed once more, his eyes closing as he rested there against the tree. Even as he rested his senses were awake, telling him where everything was around him. He had learned long ago to never drop his guard.

Sage Moonshine

Sage closed her eyes and opened her heart up to it, feeling the pull that her familiar was making, urging her foreward and take a step to where he was at the moment. She breathed in a sigh and moved from her spot, heading off to where she felt that pull of thread trailing in front of her. Soon the thread will end at the person your supposed to be with.. Her mind chimmed, filling her with a small hope.

But then again she really didnt like that this was how you found the person who completed your life, by trusting magic instead of meeting them and getting better to know each other better, like how humans did it. She clentched her staff tighter and closer to her body, eyes narrowing with the pain her heart felt, like thorns circling around her heart. Sage continued to walk, moving until she froze, eyes wide with shock.

What's a vampire doing near here? She yelled in her mind, eyeing the person warily. He had the scent of witches blood, making her shock replaced with anger and rage. He... Fed from one of her kind?! No witch would ever offer her blood up to these nasty beasts. And sage jumped out from where she was hiding, her eyes ablaze. YOU! What have you done to the poor witch you fed upon?! I will kill you here for even thinking about biting into the neck of one of my own! And she stood in a defensive stance, ready to cast a spell on this leech.

Nykyrian Syn Zarek

Nykyrian slowly opened his eyes and looked over to the witch that was yelling at him. He smiled slightly to himself and mentally shook his head as he looked to her. But as she stood there, ready to attack him at any minute, he remain relaxed, or so it seemed. He suddenly move, his motions so quick they were a blur to all but others of his kind and appeared behind the witch. He wrapped his arms about her, holding her to his body in a firm but gentle grip as he spoke softly into her ear. "I would enjoy watching you try to harm me, but unlike others of my kind, I don't kill those I feed from. I only kill to protect myself or any who are under my care." He laid a soft kiss to her cheek before he spoke once more, allowing what he said flow into her mind, showing her exactly what he had done after the feeding. "The witch who I fed from is back in her home, safe from those who would harm her. She is one of the many people I protect from vampires that would not take care of those they feed from." With his next words he knew she would not believe him, so he braced for a fight, knowing it would come. "As much as you might not wish to believe this but she offered me her blood. Those who are under my protection offer to help sustain me. I normally take a small amount and return them to their homes in perfect health. The witch is weak because I regrettably took a little too much from her because I hadn't been able to feed for a few days because I had been out hunting." He took a breath, feeling the weight of the losses he had not been able to stop and closed his eyes. His emotions were clear to see and sense, and what those emotions told were feelings of loss, failure, and self loathing for not being able to protect those he cared for. "I was out killing a group of vampires that had attacked one of the villages I protect. We lost some children and a few women who were expecting. And because of that hunt I had been gone and upon returning when I fed I took too much, leaving the witch weak but otherwise unharmed."

Sage Moonshine
hocous pocous...

She was muttering something under her breath while he mearly looked at her but before she could say the last word of the spell he moved and soon sage felt a firm body pressed against her's, making her face heat up, even if the look on her face was disgust. When she was little they alway's told her vampire's were dangerous because they hunt for witches blood. Witches blood was more potent then humans, and it contained magic, making said vampire stronger if he drank from them. And when he mentioned that he fed from witches most of his life she choked back a gasp.

It was too much, and then she felt his lips brush against her cheek and she moved backward's, almost feeling like she was trying to woo him, but it was the opposite. Bind. She muttered, the spell she was currently casting activated, making said vampire imobile from the time she released him. And she highly doubted that she would anytime soon. Right, because's witches are just so helpless! They do not need your protection! The witches council would gladly aid them! And she glared at him for even muttering that they gladly did it.

He must have them fooled! No witch dumb enough would let a vampire feed upon them, that would make the blood sucker stronger.. Too strong for even the most powerful if it was like this. But she soon felt it all sinking in and she shook her head, despair written all over her features until a small teardrop fell from her face. Ngh.. I dont belive you! Why would they...? You are, the enemy of all witches.. I dont understand! And she buried her hands into her face, stepping out of reach from him and turned to face the opposite way, wipping the tears from her face.

She felt it. Sage knew this man was supposed to be her familiar.. That bond the older witches told her, the way it made you feel like something's tugging at your heart, making it race when your next to that person. She didnt want to belive it. If the elder's found out the only daughter of the strongest line of witches familiar was a vampire they would burn both of them at the stake. Why does it have to be you...? Why couldnt my familiar be human or something else?! Why!! And she muttered the word release, letting the vampire go on his merry way because she really didnt want to talk with anyone right now... For now she wanted to sit down, think, cry and then sleep. But she had a feeling this man wouldnt leave so easily.. And with that tidbit she hid the small smile from him.

Nykyrian Syn Zarek

Nykyrian stood in the binding spell, a spell he had been expecting. He didn't struggle or fight the spell, just stood there and looked to the witch with the emotions flowing through him, emotions that most thought a vampire couldn't have. As he stood and listened to her he shook his head slightly and spoke, his voice low but calm. "I never said they were helpless now did I? They do need protection, whether it is give by myself or the men in the village that are of able body. Your precious council knows about them, they were the ones that kicked them from your oh so precious home." His words were spat from his mouth, his anger at those who would willingly endanger those they had sworn to protect. His body trembled with his suppressed anger as he spoke again. "Why do you think they need the protection of a vampire. One of them found their familiar and he was a vampire, and instead of burning them they kicked the witch out. Told her that if she wanted a bloodsucker she could have him, but they would offer her no protection when he was murdered." He froze in his place, his eyes focused on the single tear that had slipped from her eye. His temper drained from him as he watched her turn and wipe at the tears. "Do you really believe vampires or the enemy? How do you know that? Because your council told you? Well I am proof that vampire are not the enemy." As he felt the spell be released he slowly stepped to her and placed his hands on her shoulders gently and turned her to face him. He knew that she would not believe anything he said but he had to try and set her mind at ease. With that, he told her something he had told no one else since his father had been murdered and his mothers death. "Miss, the witch I spoke of, the one that was banished from her home because her familiar was a vampire. She was my mother, so I am proof, not all vampires are the unemotional bloodsuckers you think they are. I am not only a vampire, but because of my mothers blood I also have a very strong gift with magic as well." He looked down to her, not knowing what he could do to ease the torment she was feeling. But as he too started to feel her torment, he knew what it meant. He was her familiar, and she was scared that she was going to be burned because of it. He hung his head and closed his eyes. "I wish I could change what I am but I can't, I'm sorry. Go back to your council, tell them you didn't find your familiar, or that you found him on his death bed. I will leave you alone, but know this, if you need anything at all, my village and home are not far from here. So just come to this spot and call for me and I will come, and do what I can to help you. I will leave you now, but take my name with you, but please tell no one what I told you about my parents. If the council knew I was the son of one of their most powerful witches they would find me and try and use me to bring back the line. Or kill me when they learned of what I am. I am Nykyrian Syn Zarek, my mother was Rose Willowtree, the head of the council before she was banished." Nykyrian took a few steps back and looked to the witch with sadness in his eyes, for he knew that if she didn't complete the familiar bond with him he would die. He gave a graceful bow to her and slowly turned and headed in the direction of his village and home.

Sage Moonshine
hocous pocous...

Sage listened to what the man was saying, so they had a nice little village with a single vampire to watch over them? If she was a normal women she would have felt two things, one fear because of all the things people say about their kind and two, protected and happy. Well three then, but it didnt change the fact that if she put herself in those people's shoes she would feel nothing but graditude toward's him, no matter what he was. And feeling that made her guilty, something that was tearing at the center of her chest, making her look all the more painful.

And she murmered something soft, a bit of holding back a sob at the mention of her being kicked out for her familiar being a vampire. They didnt help her, and she had truely loved him so it seemed. Sage heard faint stories about it, but since they were in this day and age they couldnt burn them anymore, but instead leave them to have their blood sucker and never meet at the council ever again. They were no longer witches, but only blood whores. She shivered at the term they gave people who willingly gave their blood, but none the less they still stood by the vampires... But... I.. She got out, after hearing that she did belive him, her heart's thread told her so.. But the council was all she had and she couldnt just give it up, not yet.

My home.. Mother and father.. I cant loose them or never see them again.. And my sister need's training. But her mother could most likely help with that, they both doted on her younger sister, but they couldnt help it. She was young and helpless while she could handle her own easily. So in truth even now she had no true place to really call her home. And she turned when he touched her shoulders, staring him in the eye with sadness seeped into her features, unshed tears waiting to be released. And as soon as he spoke once more she had to cover her mouth to keep the sob's at bay. His mother.. Was that women? The most powerful of them all, and she choose to be with her familiar through thick and thin, even if it ment to never be with the council again.

So.. Sorry... She murmered, dabbing at her tears again. Really, since when was she such a crybaby? She watched his head hand down from all that this was causing her and her hand instantly started rising, to better comfort him, but she stopped and fisted it to her side, trying really hard not to cry. Then very suddenly he just.. Let her go, moving away from her with word's like, 'say he's dead' and 'that she didnt find him'. He wanted sage to lie to them? That sounded like the easy way out and she was almost tempted to take it, but something nagging in her chest wouldnt allow it. So when nykyrian started off she shot her hand out to grab a slip of his shirt stopping him in his tracks. Sage, it's my name... And.. She bit her lip at what she was going to do, but she moved and raised one finger to her lips and nicked it with her teeth, blood barely making it's way out. Then she let him go and drew the star within the circle and started the chant that would bind them forever. By the power of the moon that hang's in the sky, bless this witch and familiar who will forever remain apart of each other's lives so long as they live. Whenever one's in danger the other will stand to defend. When one is lost the other will find them and when one need's love... The other will give it. That is the duty of the two and it will be heded, or fear death that will soon decend upon you... And she held out her hand with the star on it, waiting for him to do the same.

Nykyrian slowly turns back to her when he feels her hand in his shirt. He looked down to her and shook his head, not sure why she was completing the bond when he could feel that she wanted nothing to do with him because he was a vampire. He was about to turn around and walk off before she could complete the bond but something stopped him. He looked to her hand that had the star on it and took a slow breath as he then looked her directly in her eyes and spoke to her. "Are you sure about this Sage? There is no going back from this, and the coven will kick you from your home. I don't think they will kick your family out, but that would mean unless they come with us to the village, you will never see them again." He closed his eyes and shook his head, if she was sure about this she deserved to know what he looked like when he had to defend the village and villagers. He knew not many could stomach seeing him in his true form but he took a deep breath and looked to her as he spoke one last time. "Sage, be sure you are positive about this. If you are, I will complete the bond but only after you know what I am. I will show you my true form, the form I have to change into when I protect those under my care."

Even though on the inside she was nervous, scared and most of all horrifyed at what she was doing on the outside her face held it's serious and determind look, not once changing it's appearance. I do not care! My family tend's to the younger while the oldest's make their choices and im making mine! Dont make me say this for nothing! She practically screamed at him, her eyes tearing up with hot embarassment at even deciding this.

She shook her head at him offering to help her family, but it wouldnt matter, they had nothing to do about this, so it was just easier to mearly slip away so they dont get blamed. I'll leave a letter before they find out so my family wont be judged.. Sage thought to herself, her free hand clentched so tight that her nails were making her palm bleed. But she didnt care, she just wanted to get this over with and go on with her life, even if she had to live with this guy for most of it.

So at the mention of him first showing her his true form sage nodded tightly, she wasnt going to run away, no matter how scary he looked or got. She would stand her ground until the end and he completed the stupid ritual. If you dont hurry my bloods going to dry and then it'll be impossible for it to work.. And then what happens? We both die! She yelled, already feeling her magic wane at the chant not being finished, her leg's shaking in both fear and weakness.

Nykyrian nodded his head slightly as he stepped back and allowed his true form to appear before her. He stood there, looking down at here with his silver eyes waiting for her reaction, waiting to hear her say that she could accept him as he is. When she saw no revoltion in her eyes he slowly placed his hand in hers and nodded his head saying she could finish the spell. As he waited he allowed his true form to slip and the one he wore normally to come back into view. He had expected to see fear from her and when he did it didn't hurt, he was a 'blood sucker', something that all witches despised, and other then his mother everyone else seemed to have the same reaction. "Complete it then if you wish. But this needs to be over with soon, the sun is starting to rise and even though I can stand some amount of it, I don't wish to be stranded out here when it reaches the point that I can't survive."

When he stepped closer his true form appeared, making her flinch and wait for a moment that she would die, but she shook it off. No! He was.. Different. Well, as what he say's, but sage wasnt all too sure. But she could at least make an effort to try and be close with him, even thought they'll have a long long time to do that part. So she surprised him by smiling smile, tears forming in her eyes. Alright then..

And she felt his palm pressed against her own, his form returning to the one she first spotted him with. He told her to get on with it and she nodded, opening her eyes wide and lifting her head up to the sky. With this they will forever be with one another, even if one dies the other will never forget and cherish their memory of what they had together. With their blood the two are now conjoined by soul and it will alway's remain that way.. And she let go of his hand, seeing that now her blood was completely gone, replaced with a small tattoo on the center of her palm.

She peered at it, trying to decode it's meaning. Witches who had familiar's often mentioned having different or the same marks, telling how long they will be with each other or their fate together. So when sage inspected the curve of her mark she noticed it looked like the half of a heart, before she looked at him and saw that his completed her's, making sage blush before she turned from him. Well... I need to send my parent's a note so they dont get kicked out as well.. And before he could even say anything she ran from there, moving about the tree's until the council stood before her. She was on the verge of tears, but she composed herself and headed off.

Trying her hardest to move without another witch to spot and talk with her sage made it to her room and slipped inside, shutting the door tight until she heard. "Heya sis! When did ya get back?" And she froze, looking at her kid sister like she grew into a horrible monster and was about to eat her. Nothing, im just not returning back here ok? Im leaving with my familiar on a great journy to make the best spell ever! She hated to lie to her sister, but she couldnt just tell her that she was leaving to be with a vampire at his town because they'd just kick her out here.. "Ah really?! That's so cool sis! So you came to grab your stuff? I could tell the elder's your going..." No freya! I dont need you to tell anyone, i'll just write a note and that'll be it ok? So just stay here. And her sister shut up while she got to work writing the note that stated her familiar was a vampire and she was leaving with him for good.

She looked at her sister one last time after packing all her clothes, spell books and other things she'll be needing sage left the room, her sister looking at the door before flopping onto the bed and sighed, closing her eyes to head off back to sleep. Sage slipped off into the wanning night, wondering how on earth she was going to make it to the place he was talking about when even she didnt even remember where she met him in the first place! But with her eyes closed she could feel him, so it wouldnt be hard to find him ever. And when her eyes opened again she headed off to where her heart was pulling her to.

Nykyrian sat in his home, his eyes glued on the door, waiting to see if the witch would actually return or not. He wanted to hope that she would, that they might be able to have what his parents had had, but didn't want to hope too much. He had seen things like these fall apart, and didn't want to be hurt if that happened with them. He looked around his small home and grimaced as he saw how little he could give her. He shook his head as he thought of all that he would need to do to change his home to accommodated her. He wished he could get what was needed and fix up his house before she showed up but he knew it would take him a few days to do what was needed. He stood and cleaned the small messes that were around his home, straightening things and making it as clean as he could. He was a very neat vampire, but there were times when his home got a little messy, so he cleaned until he was not able to clean anymore. He walked to his room and laid down in his bed wearing just a comfortable pair of pants and slowly fell asleep as the sun started to reach its peak. He left his doors unlocked, and a small note on the door asking her to lock up when she enters and to keep the windows closed.

She stopped when she noticed just how big this place was. She blinked a few time's and even pintched herself just to make sure she wasnt just dreaming. Sage took one step inside to town and headed off, looking about at everything with wide eyes. She was alway's with the council she never went anywhere but into the forest, the elders telling her she'd become corrupt if she even tried to set foot into another place other then the home where most of the witches lived.

And since she was in a new place she became worried, moving about quickly until she spotted the place where she felt him in. Hand on her chest she mearly stared at the door, like it would open for her and everything, but no matter how hard she stared at it, it just wouldnt budge. So she finally opened the door, finding it unlocked and she stepped in, her heart hammering inside her ribcage. Im.. Acctually here.. And she spotted only a few thing's here and there in his house and she placed her hands on her hips and gave a wry smile. I guess I can help with the decorating ne?

And she heading off to the living room, starting there first before anywhere and rasied her staff up with one hand, taking her other and also lifting it, her voice as soft as a whisper as to not disturb the other in the house. Things human's need to truely feel at home, appear in your appropriate places! And soon many things appeared. A couch, a coffee table, another table with a vase full of sweet smelling flowers.. A chair poofed up and a small tv with a stand to hold dvd's and a player. She nodded at her handy work and moved off to the kitchen, to make something to snack on before she snoozed her long night off.

Sage sighed and tapped a fingers to her forehead, wondering what on earth could she make until she snapped her fingers. And a box of cupcake mix landed neatly in her other hand. Sage pulled out a bowl and poured it into the bowl before reading the back of the box saying it needed vegetable oil, water and two eggs. She snapped her finger's four times and a measuring cup appeared along with a bottle of the oil and two eggs. The egg's landed softly in her hand and she cracked both of them into the bowl before adding water and the oil all measured out. She muttered for them to return to their rightful place's and while she was mixing it all together behind her magic was washing the cup and putting away the oil in a cabinet.

She hummed cheerfully as she worked and then poofed up a cupcake sheet and filled them all up with the batter and soon she let go of the bowl and wisk to also be washed while she set the oven to the right tempature and set them inside, now having about 15 minute's for nothing really to do. Well, she could change her clothes into more normal one's. So she moved back to where her bag was and slipped out of her dress, going to pick something a little better and not so 'im a witch!' one. And she pulled out a pretty dress with white frills. She pulled it up and tied the strings at the top and then sighed, the cupcakes still not down yet..

Nykyrian Syn Zarek

Nykyrian slowly woke to the sound of someone moving about in his home, his first instinct was to attack the intruder, but as he felt who was in his home he sighed a little and slowly sat up in his bed. He got up and looked about his room, surprised she hadn't tried to harm him in anyway, but then shook that thought away. He opened the door to his room and started to step out into the living room when a beam of light hit his thigh and he hissed as pain seared over his thigh. He closed his eyes, trying to calm himself before he opened them again and spoke gently, but loud enough to carry through his small home. "Sage, can you please close the windows. Just pull the shutters closed and I should be able to walk around my...our home." He waited for the shutters to be closed and once they were he stepped out into the living room and looked about, shocked to see all the different things that she had put in his home. He looked about and found her in the dining room near the kitchen in a different dress. As he walked up to her he gave her a small smile before he bowed to her. He might live in a more modern time but he was used to the curtasies of old. As he straightened up he gave a sad smile, noting all the others things she had added to his home. "I am sorry I could not provide better for you Sage. I would have had all that was needed for you to live here had I known about our bond."
