Assignment Solo
Logan had been growing so fast that Jackie felt that it was time to get another child, preferably from the same agency that she had gotten Logan from. So she set up the appointment and waited patiently for the day to come to go meet her new little one.
Logan was excited as well. A small child to tell stories to seemed like it would be a lot of fun. He had been listening to some so many times that he had them memorized. That and he could play her or him lullabies on one of his instruments.
On the day of adoption, both Jackie and Logan came to the Labs. They were greeted by Apoxi as usual, and were directed to an aquatic room to find the charge that had been picked out for them to take home.
The plaque said Mermaid/Kirin. The two of them walked in and over to the pool's edge and peeked in. All of a sudden a little face popped out of the water, odd silver looking eyes blinking at them. They talked for a bit, the three of them, though at the time the girly wasn't all that good at stringing words together. They all smiled and laughed together and after a while Jackie dipped her hands into the water and plucked up the small girl, and she and Logan left to the main lobby where papers were signed as Logan held and told a story to her.
And that's how Aevon came to live with her new family.
