Hi there! Here in the Roleplays, we're always looking for more of 'em. Here's a place where you can throw out an idea for a roleplay, and us here at NNR can say if we like it, dislike it, think this can be better or maybe that should have more detail, et cetera, et cetera.
So go on, let's see what roleplay ideas you all have!
In summary...this is a roleplay brainstorming thread. Put ideas and other such stuffs here.

Lately I've been craving a mermaid roleplay, but that is a very specific genre of roleplay that probably wouldn't appeal to many members of the guild, especially the boys xp

Well we could always have us ladies play male characters.
Seems that we're good at that.

A mermaid roleplay, if it has enough depth and uniqueness can be good, just as any other roleplay can be. But it has to have a lot of depth. As deep as the ocean.

Harem-style anime RP anybody....? Lol, just kidding, but I wouldn't mind trying it. It'd probably end up like an anime with the guy having to be utterly oblivious to all advances against him, so that shenanigans may ensue. ninja

I have also previously thought of the harem-style to be fascinating.

I'd say that's a go, then. But... guy surrounded by girls, or girl surrounded by guys? Personally, I'd go with the first.

How's about a twist. Two brother surrounded by girls.
That could go a few ways. 1) One brother is totally into having so many women around - the majority of girls would probably ignore him. The other brother doesn't like/ is easily embarrassed by it.
2) They could be twins and are always trying to confuse the girls.
3) A mix of the two.
4) One of the brothers or both are gay =o.O= {which none of the girls no about}
Just to list a few ways. {if people decide it's girl surrounded by boys, then just switch all genders.}

I vote option number 3 whee although someone would have to point me in the direction of some good twin pics. I like playing the awkward / easily embarrassed / romantically inept brother.

Alright, well time for me to get some ideas of my own sorted. Apologies to sparrows for posting these incorrectly last time, but I have two ideas up for discussion.
Salem
Set in fantasy / semi-industrial world, Salem’s plot would revolve around a group of adventurers (divided into different archetypes) who converge on the sleepy, little town of Salem. Recently a farmer struck gold on a small patch Ember. Ember is a strange, mutagenic substance in short supply which normally appears in areas of high magical concentration. By the time the group arrives, Salem is in a state of chaos. Talking to the locals it is discovered that the extensive mining done to retrieve the Ember deposits accidentally opened a gateway to hell and now demons are threatening to destroy the world. The only choice now is to send a group of people (please take a guess as to who that would be) and have them destroy the Demon Master in control of all the lesser demons and shut down the portal from within Hell itself.
Things to note :
(1) There will be defined archetypes. I’m open to suggestions, but my ideas are thus.
Blade : Your basic swordsman type character. Loves to fight and be in the thick of battle. Came to Salem to try and claim the Ember deposits for himself.
Cardinal : A member of the Church sent to stop the excessive mining (the church has certain reservations about mining Ember) but low and behold arrived a little too late. Is essentially the group healer.
Avenger : A traveling gun-for hire drawn to rumors of Ember appearing in Salem. Has essentially been caught in the crossfire between the humans and the demons and is simply trying to get by. Fights from afar.
Sorcercist : A mage type character. Traveled to Salem in hopes of acquiring some Ember for his studies.
Gypsy : The wild card ; a nomadic character who was simply passing through Salem when the demons appeared. Is good (not great) at fighting, using magic, stealth, and some healing.
(2) Salem is an objective based roleplay where the goal is to descend X number of levels. The main objective for each level (save the last) is to reach the end of said level and move on to the next. I would also like there to be side objectives as well. Things like killing a particularly strong or evasive demon, recovering a particular type of Ember, or recovering some strange artifact. I’m always open to suggestions.
(3) If this roleplay garners enough interest I’d be most appreciative if I could perhaps receive 2 helpers to help me mange the roleplay. A helpers job would revolve around controlling the Demon Master (who is the one that dictates all the minor and objective specific fights), keeping things fair and balanced amongst the RPers in my absence, and if time and ability permits help me make / brainstorm new maps. Salem will probably be a long and time consuming project, so any help is really, truly appreciated.
(4) This RP was sort of based off a true story. The story is that when my dad was a kid (maybe 7 or 8 ) he was playing in his neighborhood and saw some construction workers digging a hole. My dad got curious and went over to them. My dad asked something to effect of “what are you guys digging a hole for?” and the one workers turned and told my dad “we’re digging a hole to hell and after we’re done we’re gonna throw you in it!” My dad ran away after that. Funny now, probably not so funny then.
Last Breath
A Dead Space knock-off with a twist. The story takes place on a dilapidated space station whose inhabitants are constantly at odds with one another. A long while back the air-filtration system went bust and the whole space station went on lockdown. Sadly with the air being constantly recycled, various pathogens and whatnot have started to effect the inhabitants of the Space Station. Some humans were able to receive special air masks (now in short supply) and were more or less saved. Those who didn’t became afflicted and now wander the halls in constant agony with barely a shred of sanity to hold them together. The two group have been named “Airheads” and “Chokers” and have very different goals from one another. The Chokers simply want to eliminate the Airheads for their selfishness and betrayal. The Airheads want to find a way past the Chokers and the lockdown so that they can restore the filtration system and help cure the Chokers from their sickness and insanity.
Notes :
(1) I don’t have any non-generic names to use for the space station atm, but give me some time and I’ll come up with a few ideas.
(2) Airheads require specialized air-canisters to refill their masks. If people find this element of the roleplay to be too difficult let me know and I'll remove it.
(3) Playable Chokers have to be in some way, shape, or form be slightly saner than the rest.

Or how about one involving twin/ triplets? (minus twincest, because I can't do that stuff) Either way though, it could be fun. Oh yeah, FYI I'm horrible at mimicking females, so it would likely look like something out of an anime if I had to play the part.

Twincest? neutral Really, they have that now? Well I could play a chick if I have to. My skills at that have been improving, though I only really do the tomboys and the ditzy ones. The girlie-girls and crazy-psycho women are not in my repertoire as of yet. Sorry, I really wish I was more skilled.

Yeah, they do now. One anime that comes to mind is The Ouran High Host Club, though the guys there are only mimicking it. I've watched waaaay too much anime, I've got like over a terabyte of different series so chances are, if you can name it, there is a 75% probability that I've seen it.
I suppose I could do a girly-girl one... though to be honest I don't fee right rping as a female. xd

It takes time to learn to play girl characters. I'm still nowhere close to playing them right. Real girls on the other hand seem to play guy character really well. Makes me kind of embarrassed. If a girl can play a guy then I should be able to play a girl. Which is why I try to. It's a little embarrassing at first considering I mostly play romance RPs, but it's doable. Also did you manage to take a look at my roleplay ideas up above? Would help ease my nerves to know if somebody actually read it.
