It'll recover with time, but don't expect it to be fast.

yeah basically there are other blanket items that look similar to your blanket except are MUCH cheaper so people dont buy your blanket as much anymore, causing its price to go down
your blanket is a monthy collectible, so by default it WILL go up over time i doubt it will go up very fast, if i were to guess when its going to hit 1mil id say 10-15 months

acesuv Shadow Sharpies =o as long as it hits 1mill =Dnd thanks for a info all you could sell your blanket, invest in something better, and get 1m in a few months But your guesstimate isn't a guarantee. It might only take a few months for the Wind Security Blanket to rise to 1m as well.
Based on the graphs I'd say that after this period of deflation, it'll only take about 5 months for it to recover. On top of that, it's a guarantee that it'll go up. If you want to compare this to CIs and even REIs, which earn a risky 10-15% return per month, waiting 5-6 months for a safe 40-50% return isn't bad at all.

Also, I might be wrong about the new blankets being the main cause—they came out much earlier than the price drop started. I think it's just falling because of the market-wide deflation atm, and that's it.

acesuv even getting a random more popular MC would be a better investment than the blanket there are safe investments to be made that are better than this blanket if he wants to sit on it and hope it recovers faster, thats his choice but i honestly think he could use his money more wisely problem here is you aren't basing your advice on hard facts, and that's troubling.
The Wind Security Blanket rose 120% from the start of last November to the middle of June. It's dropped to 650k since then, but it's starting to recover now. if it follows the same pattern as the last year, it'll rise another 120% in the next 7 months, meaning it'll be worth around 1.3m.
If you can suggest an item with something to support that it's a better investment then it's totally fine to tell him to swap, but if you're just telling him to get rid of it without suggesting a specific alternative, it's not really good advice.
Shadow Sharpies: are you talking about as an investment or just for your avatar?
If you want to invest in other old MCs, try the Lusty Scoundrel or Cloud. Honestly the Cloud isn't that much better than the Blanket (140% compared to 120%) but the Lusty has gone up 285% in the last year and is one of the best MCs to invest in—the only MC that beats it atm is Angelic/Nitemare Minis.
