FIRST TASK

TASK: Catching a unicorn.

DANGER: In the forbidden forest with other students cosplaying as monsters to distract you.

**Send up red sparks if you want to withdraw**

I shall play "The Unicorn" by posting some picture of a unicorn every minute or so.

I will entitle it "unicorn appears"
What you do is post back, TWO things. *sees unicorn* and *catches unicorn* before i post it a second time with the words "unicorn runs"

I will post more than just once or twice of course, you should be able to see me quite a bit, but catching me..that's a whole other ballgame.

I will NOT plan on posting so quickly that it is impossible for you to post two times. However, these are tasks, so I'm not going to go easy on you either.

Inbetween sightings of the "unicorn" I want you to cosplay to the MAX. THIS is actually, what you will be rated on quite a bit. Ex: "My heart beats faster as I run panting, looking for a gleam of white in the dark forest surrounding me...etc"

SCORING:

35/50 points of your score, is actually your cosplay believe it or not, since I can't expect all of you to catch me, what if one of you doesn't since you had a slow computer? It isn't fair.
15/50 points is a give or take : Did you catch the unicorn?

***I WILL NOT BE RATING YOUR COSPLAY***

An outsider, an IMPARTIAL outsider, will be reading them. I will show her the stories, she she will rate them on what she thinks. She has read harry potter so she knows what it should sound like. There are 3 things below, just suggestions, that you may want to include.

1) MADNESS. When this person read the intense portions of harry potter where people felt like they were going mad, she loved it.

2) BLUNDERS. I'm not saying fall over a tree root every second...but by the same token, don't be perfect either, since where's the interest in that? She told me specifically she hates it when she reads a book and everyone seems so perfect that it is impossible to idolize them of be like them in some way.

3) SUSPENSE. (of course) Everyone loves suspense! Really get the reader going, build up, and when the unicorn appears, it'll be like a climax moment!

Please reply to this message telling me if you can make it or not...I would hope you guys all can, but if you can't, then we can of course re-arrange it. The time is the only changeable thing here though. Yes, if you see a flaw in the task please let me know, but the task is as it is, catching a unicorn.

SECOND TASK

TASK: Getting past a giant.

DANGER: The giant is very savage, you have to get past it and collect a treasure of sorts, different for each champion. Also note that I did not tell the champions about this task until the minute before.

**Send up red sparks if you want to withdraw**
(Reminder) The incantation is: Periculum.

I shall play "The Giant", by taking swings at the champions, and they need to avoid me and simply catch the treasure. *The treasure has a non-summoning charm put on it, so don't even try.

I will attack and swing and throw rocks and things. What the champions must do is get the treasure, by avoiding me.The task lasts until they get their treasure,
or until the time limit of 2 hrs, for this particular task. Perhaps a bit longer if needed. The champions need only avoid 2 blows by me, the giant, in a row. I will constantly be posting things worded like I threw my arms at them and them aimed a swift kick to their gut, whatever it is. They have to post three times in a row something to the affect of them getting out of the way and moving to the stone. They must do this two times in a row. THEN they need to make a third post, about them getting their treasure, before I can even swing at them again.

In total, they have to make 3 posts. 2 are avoiding attacks, and 1 is them sneaking around and getting the treasure. The second time they avoid me and the getting the treasure post must be in a row.

Attacks take two posts. One is basically me just saying I swung at them, another is me saying I got them. Avoiding the attacks WON'T be too difficult, since it takes time inbetween posts.
(If I do happen to succeed in attacking them, students MUST make some type of refrence to it, saying they recovered or used a healing charms on themselves)
But then avoiding me before the giant even SWINGS at them, is VERY difficult. Note that I will NOT plan on posting so quickly that it is impossible for you
to post that you avoided me and got the treasure. However, these are tasks, so I'm not going to go easy on you either.

EXAMPLES FOR GIANT TASK:

The giant task I found extremely difficult to explain and understand. So below is an example of getting past the giant.

GIANT: roars and throws a rock

STUDENT: Avoids the rock and rushes towards their treasure

GIANT: angered by not getting to attack the student, they swing again with their fist

STUDENT: runs quickly away from the fist, feeling it's vibrations as the rock around them shakes

STUDENT: grabs the treasure and leaves back to the safety of the tent.

There we go. Now, the student avoided me twice, then had to grab their treasure, before I could even swing at them.
If I had interrupted those last two posts, they would not have gotten the treasure, and would have to start all over again.

Now below is an example of NOT getting past the giant.


GIANT: roars at the student and swings their massive fist

STUDENT: runs quickly past the giant

GIANT: growls at student menacingly showing all their teeth and attempts to crush them with their feet

STUDENT: avoids their feet and uses stunning charms, trying to escape.

GIANT: the stunning spells have no effect and the giant continues to stomp

STUDENT: intimidated but not shaken, grabs their treasure and runs.

This is a fail to get their treasure. They have to avoid me, then post twice in a row, first one being avoiding, second one being them getting their treasure. If I break the flow at any point, like I did in the latter example, it's not a legit capture of their treasure.

***The last task was on keeping focused in trying situations.***

***This one is more about courage in the face of danger. ***

***After all, Giants aren't the friendliest of creatures. ***

THIRD TASK

TASK: Getting through a maze as if searching for the exit (which you cosplay that you find in the last 10 minutes).

DANGER: People change in the maze, and there is an army of mules with ready picked quotes to distract you.

**Send up red sparks if you want to withdraw**

I shall be watching the entire time, but the posts won't be my words.

You have 3 hours in the maze, and all of you go in, all 3 champions, at the same time.

Once everyone is in the maze, I shall take quotes and ready- made distractions, and post them all from my account.
These posts however, won't be my words.

You see, I am facebooking all of my Harry Potter lover friends asking
them to come up with distractions for you in the maze. Not really things like dementors, but devil's snare, plants, strange and weird enchantments, that type of thing. I will post them all from my account as you all enter.
*Each of you must react to each distraction. I can't have that many ready-made distractions since they aren't as easy to think of as you may assume. So every champions must get rid of each obstacle, regardless of where you are in the maze, you all need to post as if the very obstacle I posted was after you. After a couple minutes I make another post saying it went away or retreated, so this way the champions can wrestle with it a bit more if they have the time, and those who simply didn't react, will just get a few points knocked off.

10 minutes before the 3 hours is up, I want you to cosplay you getting out, something about you find the light at the end of the tunnel, and in the last minute, you all run into one another. Then the task will be over. It'll all be done, and the winner will be chosen, based off of the total of points they have earned.

SCORING:

50/50 points is the cosplay. This is an entirely cosplay-related task.

5 of my friends will come over the day after the task, or I can just ask them to rate your performance. Some of them may be older, younger, maybe I'll have even a few teachers rate you all.
Each of them is worth 10 points. The player with the total max of points wins. NOTE: My HP lover friends are very difficult
to please, really work your magic!

(My friends are mature and they understand this, it's not just some random thing...my mom was rating it previously, but I think she's going a bit easy and giving out high scored perhaps a bit too easily? Though you guys are great, I'm not 100% sure of how this rating will go quite yet)

Welcome, readers of the guild. Today, Kenneth (Nerevar) faces the first task. As you know, his job, is to catch a unicorn. Although it may not seem it...this task may be very dangerous. He will be going against the unknown. Many things could wait him in the forest, we shall have to see. Now that he is chosen, he stands alone. He will face not only enemies in the forest, but other things as well. Trials lay ahead of him, each one just as treacherous as the last. I wish him the best of luck, as I hope you all do as well.

*Headmistress Sing points her wand and taps it on the cannon to her side, which suddenly sounds off, signaling the start of the task*

She turns to Kenneth, gives him a weary smile, and shouts powerfully:
"Let the task...BEGIN!"

At the sound of the cannon I walked slowly into the Forbidden Forest the sound of all the insects seemed amplified this night. The slight wind was rustling though the branches, causing leaves to drop all around me. The sight brought back memories of two years ago, me running and fighting for my life as two on the run Death Eaters chased after me, with the intent to torture and murder me. I stopped for a moment and placed my hand on a nearby tree, thinking to myself, ‘you got to push those memories aside, focus on the task at hand, if you can survive that night two years ago, you will do fine in here tonight. Taking a deep breath I increased my pace and moved deeper into the forest ever on the lookout for the silver blur of the Unicorn, and any possible danger that I might face during my hunt.

Hearing some twigs snapping and the crunch of leaves I head over in the direction of the sound, wand at the ready.

The crunching sound got louder and louder as I got closer to the source. My heart started to beat faster in my chest. What could it be I wonder to myself. Sneaking up behind a near by tree I peaked around the corner to see what was causing all that noise. It was a Hippogriff, it had its back to me, think it best just to slowly back away and head off in a new direction.

I managed to back away without making a sound, the entire time I thought the Hippogriff would hear my heart betting inside my chest it was beating so hard. Feeling that I was a safe enough distance to start moving quickly again, I saw a sliver blur race by. It was the unicorn, watching the path it was taking, I raced off after hoping to cut it off and then somehow bring it down.
