User Image

Name: Orghul
Species: Infernal
Race: Imp
Age: Over 9000

Appearance: Two foot tall at the most and with dull, red-scaled skin Orghul looks like a tiny, emaciated demon. His body appears wasted and twisted, with an oversized head nearly the size of his gnarled body. His arms and legs are too long to be within proportion, and in fact his arms are long enough that he tends to travel along the ground three-or-four limbed, like an ape.

His face is almost humanoid, but with an over-large mouth populated by crooked, cracked and yellowed teeth. His nose is bulbous and oversized, apparently having been broken and reset repeatedly and his eyes are asymmetrical, the right being slightly larger and differently angled from the left. A tail completes the image, the barbed tip shining wetly and occasionally dripping.

Height: 1' 11 1/4"
Weight: 7lbs
Skin: Dull red, scaled and pitted
Eyes: Pale yellow

Background History: Orghul's memories of his past are fuzzy to say the least. After several tens of thousands of years in service to greater demons he remembers little other than that he was once a living soul. Maybe a human. Or an orc. Or an elf. Could've been a dwarf even. Not only can he no longer remember, but little even cares any more. His memory extends back no more than a few decades in detail as he has chosen to forget much.

Only recently has he been returned to the Prime Material plane and begun to concern himself once more with temporal matters. In particular he seeks to bind his mistress ever tighter to her infernal contracts, and of course to wreak whatever mischief and evil he has the opportunity to in doing so.

Combat: Although Orghul can hold small weapons so long as he clutches them in both hands he usually attacks with his tail while in his natural form. When polymorphed into a creature he will fight as normal for that creature, although he generally prefers to flee.

Skills or Powers: Like many imps, Orghul can regenerate almost any wound or injury - including having been diced into very small pieces. As if this were not enough he is also extremely difficult to harm, being hurt only by magical weaponry or pure silver. Fire, cold and electricity along with normal weapons do nothing.

Orgul can naturally see those with a truly Good aura, and magical dweomers.

At will Orghul can turn himself (and only himself) invisible.

At will Orghul can polymorph into either a monstrous spider, or a monstrous raven.

The poison produced by his tail causes immense pain, and the swelling/seizure of joints to slow down movement. Onset takes mere moments, while recovery takes days for full movement to return.

Once a week Orghul can make use of a communication with his master to ask up to six simple questions.

Physical Weaknesses: The touch of anything holy or blessed and of Good alignment does cause him agony however, enough that he will flee unthinking regardless of consequences. If struck with enough force, such a weapon will cast him from the Prime Material plane for a time, causing both him and his mistress immense pain and distress as their souls are linked.

As an outsider Orghul is subject to banishment, although due to his particular arrangement he can return after some time.

Mental Weaknesses: Orghul is unable to resist any potential mischief which does not directly go against the wishes of his mistress. He is also bound by various agreements and contracts with her, and is unable to go against the letter of these agreements.

Finally, Orghul is unable to directly lie, or to break any agreement once he has given his word, so long as the other party stays with their side. If the other party in the agreement does break their part then he aware instantly and may act accordingly.

Gelyl

A somewhat rotund drow of advanced years, Gelyl is the accountant and patron of The Scorpion. He rarely uses his feet any more, preferring to be carried around by several of large harem of young male slaves who also function as his bodyguard. Because of this, and his regular bouts of gluttony and over-indulgence, his weight has grown immensely, to the point where his ability to walk any substantial distance is uncertain.

Despite this his mind is still sharp and quick. He is certainly capable of managing the accounts of The Scorpion, and has also constructed a minor criminal organisation which he is currently trying to expand. His wealth originally came from inheritance but, unwilling to simple fritter it away, he took the opportunity to invest and reinvest. Eventually he met Vierlin and realised the perfect opportunity not only to fund a promising business, and have a healthy amount of input, but also to provide for his less open tastes by having a legitimate reason to have muscular young men carrying him around.

The only magical item he possesses is a Rug of Smothering. This sits in front of his office desk in The Scorpion and, on a command, will wrap around anyone standing upon it. The rug wraps quickly and tightly enough that, once caught, escape is nearly impossible (although a particularly strong character could try to hold off the rug). After someone has been suffocated by the rug it will unwrap and lay itself neatly upon the floor once again. The rug was especially enchanted for him by an old lover from his youth.

The clearest weakness which Gelyl suffers from is obviously his weight and health. Years of indulgence in all and sundry have their price, and he is paying. This is partially offset by the fact that he surrounds himself at all times with loyal bodyguards drawn from his harem. While slaves, his harem is treated exceptionally well and are trained to be both fanatically loyal (to near the point of worship) and terrified of Gelyl's influence. It should be made clear that his harem are such in name only, he has never been able to perform any sexual function due to being a eunuch.

Llith the mushroom eater

Llith is the blessed of Llolth. The Lady whispers to me, when I eat the mushrooms. She guides me to the mushrooms and whispers to me. She guides me to the heretics and I kill them for the Lady. They are to be beaten, flayed, tortured and killed, and the Lady helps me. The heretic must die. The non-believers must die. All who do not believe in the lady must die.

Llith is mad, yes, but with madness comes strength and divinity. The Lady blesses me. She scars me, so that I might bear her marks. She drives me to scar myself, such that I might share her pleasure in inflicting pain. All will bear her mark, come the dying day.

Llith is a fanatic, similar in many ways to a paladin for less wholesome deities. Her weapons vary, but she uses them with very little strategy. In fact her tactics mainly depend upon her drug-and-faith fuelled immunity to pain and hysterical strength when she works herself into a killing frenzy. In such a state she is a whirling mass of blades, teeth, nails, rocks, arms, legs, and anything else she might set hands upon. The arms and legs are not necessarily her own.

Until the killing frenzy subsides and the drugs wear off she is quite capable of tearing apart fully armoured opponents. Unfortunately doing so will often leave her near-death through massive over-exertion.

When not in a killing frenzy she tends to make oracular predictions, both cryptic and prophetic. Sometimes they are accurate, and a minor reputation has been established for her in the lower slums of the city in which she resides.

In spite of, or possibly because of, her madness Llith is very close to Llolth and a very powerful cleric. Were she not of such a chaotic mind she might even carry a threat against many of the elder priestesses. The idea of thinking in a tactical way to try and destabilize the church is beyond her however, and she is quite happy to server her Goddess in the crumbling slums of the city.

Llith's body is a mass of old scars, and often fresh wounds, covered in places by a patchwork of rags and webbing sewn by the swarm of tiny spiders which constantly crawl about her skin, weaving webs over the wounds she suffers and healing her through the blessings of Llolth. The only piece of genuine clothing she always wears are two leather bandoleers, covered with pouches and worn across her chest. These contain her symbols of devotion, and her precious mushrooms. Her age is indeterminate, mainly due to the constant work of the spiders upon her body and the ravages she has been through. She is certainly more worn in appearance than the average drow, and none would describe her as attractive except those who have taken her potions.

Any might approach Llith for prophesy, but those who she does not consider to be devoted followers of Llolth would be advised against this, as she will commonly descend into one of her killing frenzies upon sight of them. Her one goal in life is to serve the Spider Queen, no matter what it may cost herself. Those who are considered to be of appropriate faith may approach, and will be given whatever aid or prophesy Llith can manage - often accompanied by the mushroom liquor which she mixes herself. Taking the liquor is wise only since it avoids offending Llith, as the mixture is heavily toxic (though not lethal, and tolerance can be built to its effects) and highly hallucinogenic.

Combat - for those in any doubt, Llith's approach to combat is to run at it kicking, screaming, and swinging whatever comes to hand. Since she only ever fights in a rage, and the spider swarm both heal her and attack any within reach, she is surprisingly effective. She is not by any means unbeatable however, and the only reason she has survived this long is that even the most hardened opponent will pause when an enraged, hideous, mad, drugged, screaming, scarred, spider-covered hag comes charging towards them with murder in their eyes, a rock in one hand, and a butcher's knife in the other. That pause is all that is needed to let Llith get within reach, and by then it is too late.

As said she is also a very powerful cleric, and has the ability to cast most spells under Llolth's domains.

Familiar/Companion
A great swarm of tiny, poisonous spiders, enough to cover her entire body if needed, constantly crawl over her skin to patch her clothing and knit flesh together with their webbing. The spiders are mildly poisonous, and there are thousands of them in the swarm. These are considered by Llith to be a proof of the blessing of Llolth, though it is equally possible that some mix of the mushrooms she eats attracts them.
