Kay was, for lack of better words, all geared up now. After speaking with Quint and seeing (a picture of) his babies for the first time, his resolve had solidified; he had to see them with his own eyes, at least once. Then, and only after seeing them, would he actually talk to Victoria.

And oh did they have many things to talk about.

Kay was angry of course; several people knew of the twins and their birth long before he did. Him. The Father. Not to mention the two people to corner him about it had knowledge and opinions that were way off. That had to be straightened out, definitely.

But first?

He wanted to see those babies.

He found her address no problem, but the scenery did not interest him. The Shaman walked with a purpose to the door, his red eye narrowed in determination. Children first, then talk.

Once at the door, he knocked. Hard.

It was a rare thing that Tori answered the door herself. It was generally Alice the nanny, or Daniella the maid, or Murrey the driver. Today hadn't been much different since Tori had her hands full bathing Ixchellia and Sanqui... She had, had the bright idea of putting them in the bath together. Together was never a good thing when it came to these two... there was never a moment they weren't up to something. Especially now that they were crawling around.

"Who in the Heaven's," Alice said as she hurried to the door. It wasn't like this place was right off the street. Matter of fact it was a good few miles off of the street, and most the acres were part of this house. "I'm coming! I'm coming!" She called out. Last thing she wanted was for someone to beat the door down. Finally she got to the door and opened it.

Tori who had heard Alice and the ruckus quickly scooped up the twins and quickly wrapped a towel around each. This off course didn't help her any as she too ended up being nearly as wet as them. She wasn't about to leave them in the water alone while she went down stairs to investigate. She was down the stairs by the time Alice had opened the door. "Kay," she whispered as she stopped mid-step.

Alice looked from the boy to Tori. "Should I excuse my self Miss?"

"Yes please," Tori nodded her head.

Kay stared at the woman who answered the door; he faltered a moment, somehow expecting Tori. But when it wasn't her, he forgot what he was here for, and what he had wanted to say. Instead he stared at her for a moment or two. When he had finally opened his mouth to ask for Tori; lo and behold, there she was. Then, like a rush, everything he was here for and everything he wanted to say came rushing back to him. The unknown to him Nanny was spared his heavy stare, instead turning it to Tori.

"I want to see them." He demanded right away. He didn't have time to say hello or to chatter; with the conversation he'd had with Quint...well, lets just say that if they started talking now, there was a good chance he would do or say something that would make her refuse to allow him to see his children. The children he was not ready for, the children he, in some part, didn't want...but also, in some part, wanted.

Tori had made a promise and she always did her best to keep her promises. She just wished Kay hadn't sounded so demanding about wanting to see them.

"Of course you can see them. I promised you that you could, but please first let me get them dried off and in warm clothes. It is nippy outside and I don't want them getting sick," she hoped that he would understand. "Please follow me," as if she wasn't going to give him a chance but to understand she turned and headed back up the stairs. "You can help me with the diapers and dressing them," she offered that much in hopes it would make it that much more easier to understand. She wasn't trying to keep them from him.

There was a reason, and no doubt she would also understand soon. Pressing his lips into a thin line for a moment, he submitted with a little sigh and more or less invited himself in. He had no shoes to remove of course, and didn't think twice about what kind of dust he could be bringing in to the home. No, his goal was there, and he was focused on it.

"Okay..." Still, he didn't say anything complex to her in fear of saying something he shouldn't. Yet. It was a mantra in his mind: See them first, don't actually talk to her until I've held at least one of them. Okay, so his mantra had changed, but since he was here, and since they were so close, merely looking wasn't going to cut it, either.

The counter in the bathroom was of considerable length and in the center of it had two sinks. The tub next to it was still full of water and bubble bath (that could be emptied later). She placed them both on the center of the counter on the towel she'd prepared earlier for when they were out of the bath.

"If you want Kay you can diaper and dress them both," Tori offered just before biting her lip. Just seeing him made her feel bad, made her feel guilty. "Just um... please be careful. They're really bright and mischievous."

"They'll need to be dried off first. We were in the middle of a bath." With that said she went about collecting two diapers and two sets of clothing.

He stepped into the bathroom shortly after she did, taking a moment to look around. Oh, it was bath time he'd interrupted. Well, okay then. It wasn't long before his attention was on the infants. The dark skinned babies...his dark skinned babies. He'd seen a picture of them, but that was nothing to seeing them with his own eyes for the first time. Seeing them wiggle where they rested, seeing them breathe...

The tears threatened to come back, but after clearing his throat he stepped over to them, starting to wrap the towel far enough around the little girl to dry her off; the boy was wrapped too, just so he wouldn't get a chill. He had experience with babies, but his expertise was more with the vengeful and angry type; compared to the single Tek, these two were pure angels. Even combined. They didn't leave scars on him.

"Hi there, pretty girl." He murmured with a slight coo to the wiggling little girl, sliding a thumb into her moving hand for a mock little handshake; her little fingers were barely able to the base of it. Clearing his throat again, he reached back to take the diapers and clothes from Tori, managing to dress the girl pretty quickly and with few mishaps; she didn't try to bite him or hit him with flailing limbs. "There we go." Kay murmured rather affectionately to her, sliding his large and scarred hands under her just so, lifting her up and drawing her in close. Ah...it was going to be hard to put them down and walk away after this, he could tell. Lifting her close to him, he leaned in to press a kiss against her forehead, then lightly and wordlessly passed her off to Victoria. Hands free, he turned to the boy.

"Your turn, handsome." He found himself continuing to talk to them; how could he not? As he toweled the boy off, he caught a glimpse of the little egg peeking out of the mass of curly hair. "Oh...you poor thing." He chuckled, reaching out to ever-so lightly ghost a finger over it. Poor boy...well, if that snake ever turned out to be like Nahual. Nahual himself was still tangled in his dreads, but eventually the serpent would notice. Like his sister, the boy was diapered, dressed with a far amount but little fuss, and scooped into his arms for a kiss to his forehead. Unlike his sister though, he didn't get passed off. No, the boy was held against his scarred chest, cradled gently in one arm, the other lifting to slide a finger into the boy's little hand.

"They're perfect." He said to Tori, though he wasn't looking at her at all. His gaze was on the boy in his arms, the skull mask he had, the little egg on his head. Minus the curly hair and the ivy tattoos, it was like looking into a time warped mirror.

Tori had to fight with herself not to cry as she watched Kay. He was incredibly good with them, perfect with them. They didn't even try to cause him trouble! If he was this good with kids then why had he not wanted kids... his own kids. Maybe Evari was right, maybe she did give him no choice. But, she still felt the door was two ways and that Kay could have spoken up.

She cradled the little girl when she had been passed of. She thought nothing of it as he had a little boy to fix up. But when suddenly he was holding the boy and it was all about the boy something in her stirred. Sure the boy looked almost exactly like Kay... But did he not like the little girl as much because of how much she resembled her mother despite having a good bit of her dad? She could stand to be hated but she couldn't stand for her little ones to be hated by him. Then she heard his comment about them being perfect and everything seemed right again, or as close to right as possible. "One hundred percent perfect," she smiled.

"There isn't a day that goes by that I am not thankful for them... for you. Without you they wouldn't be here. For what it's worth I'm sorry." She looked up from Ixcheillia and towards Kay. "I did what I thought was best... I didn't realize that I gave you no choice." She decided not to bring up the fact of the door going both ways. If Evari had heard her she would probably be somewhat proud of Tori and that something from their argument/fight had sunk in.

The only reason he held onto the boy was because the boy was the last one in his arms. He would be asking for the girl again later, but for now, he was content to hold the one. He wasn't going to let either of them get more attention from him than the other...at least, he would try.

While Tori spoke, Kay kept his gaze fixed on the boy - Sanqui, he assumed - and studied him. Every chubby little feature. Nahual had gotten curious it seemed; why was this infant not shrieking? Where was the flailing, the blind rage? Tongue flicking out between downy lips, the serpent slithered from it's hiding spot in Kay's hair, smelling and tasting the air around the boy, inspecting him with what could be curiousity; his feline like ears were perked, after all. That was definitely a rare occurance. The serpent seemed very interested in the egg on the boy's head, but Kay didn't seem worried. He could tell when the serpent was up to something, but now, Nahual was just doing what he was doing; inspecting, staring, somewhat admiring.

"I didn't want to discuss it here." He said flatly, 'here' of course meaning in front of the infants, though he knew they would likely never remember if an argument were to happen. "But no, you didn't...and it doesn't seem fair that not one, but two people, one of them my own Brother, knew about their birth long before I did." That was more of an upset grump on his part, not an outright accusation.

"Trade you." He said simply, batting Nahual away so he could shift the boy, hoping to trade him with his sister for a little bit. The explosive anger he had earlier had mellowed out; the babies were no doubt at fault. He couldn't bring himself to be outright angry with them around. At least not yet.

"You've got a calendar and a phone," Tori said as calmly as possible. It didn't mater that a calendar date wouldn't have helped as she hadn't went full term, but it was the principle of it. She sighed. She really, really didn't want to spoil what appeared be a decent moment between them. She was half wondering why she bothered apologizing.

"Nahual seems to aprove of your boy," she chuckled.

She was use to swapping kids and did it easily with Kay so that he could hold Ixcheillia. "She's got my strings..." she said in case he hadn't noticed previously. Nothing had come yet of touching the little girls strings but she was always cautious. She cradled Sanqui and made soft shushing noises until he settled back down.

"Sure, but I didn't know how far along you were, if they were on time...and besides, you have a phone too. You knew I wanted to see them, you could have easily given me a heads up." The argument was calmly reflected back, though he was frowning a little more than he should be, considering the present company. The frown subsided when Tori had said 'your boy'. Yes, Sanqui was his, there was no doubt or question about that one! The twins were traded and Kay settled the girl - his daughter - into a similar position the boy had been. The teen took a moment to pick at her outfit so it fell just so; he couldn't help it! Every Father looked at their Daughters like they were fragile princesses.

"Huh. So she does." He murmured after lightly touching her back, under her shirt. His attempts to look back up were foiled by the little hand tangling in his dreads, but after some very careful surgery, he managed to get her to hold his finger instead. That frown was definitly gone, for the time being.

Nahual inspected this little hatchling as well, his tongue flickering in and out of his mouth quickly. The serpent's nose buried in the girl's hair, but after finding no egg he gave his equivalent of a huff and wrapped around Kay's neck, suddenly bored of both hatchlings. So long as they didn't grab him, he was okay with them being there; but this one didn't have an egg, boo. Nahual was clearly a selfish creature: Kay could only roll his eyes.

"Hell, you could have just let it ring and hung up without a message, I still would have flown here."

"I told you that I wouldn't ask anything from you. I knew the moment I picked up the phone or saw you I would ask something of you. Not sure what but I was sure. So I avoided you. That is why I went to Quint... he told me that if I needed anything he would do his best," she sighed. "I love you and I never would do anything to intentionally..." she doubted he would believe it and thus decided to just stop there. "Calling anyone up the phone and hanging up immediately is considering prank calling and that is rude," she sighed.

She carried Sanqui to the bedroom and sat him in the play crib. He was adorable, somewhat lightweight, but after a while your arms just got tired. She picked up the few toys that had been thrown out and put them back in.

"Look I said I'm sorry. I can only say it to much..."

Kay frowned again, about to answer until he saw her start to head away. He followed her, setting Ixchellia into the play crib with her Brother. He'd completed his little inner mantra, he had at least gotten to hold them for a little bit. But it was hard to pull away from them. He had to, he knew he did; there was a second purpose to his visit, and it was just as important as the first part. Brushing a hand over each of their heads in turn (and being mindful of Sanqui's little egg), he stepped back from the crib to linger near the door.

"I know you said you were Sorry, I heard you. But I don't think you understand why you need to say it." He was talking low and gritting his teeth; his lingering near the room's door was for a reason, he didn't want to upset his children, but he wasn't going to let her hide behind them either.

"I'm well aware you told me you wouldn't ask for anything from me. That's why I avoided you. You backed me into a corner! You were so convinced you didn't need me that I believed you, and I stayed away. It nearly killed me." It did; these last few months had been hell for him, a lot of 'what ifs' running through his head that he felt he didn't have the right to seek an answer for.

"Mommy will be back in just a second so you two can have lunch," she said before pressing her index finger against her lips. She was walking towards Kay but only because that was the only way out of the room. "We can talk about this downstairs in the living room," she said as she pushed the button. "Alice will be up shortly so you don't need to worry about them being left attended."

"That makes two of us... It damn near killed me to be away from you. Joy freaked out day after day worrying that the stress was going to harm my pregnancy. She wanted me to go to you but I didn't think you wanted this life, to loose your day to day freedom, to grow up, or settle down. So I did it pretty much by myself." She was at the stairs before she already started talking. "I make my messes and I clean them up. I cross my bridges, I burn my bridges, and I build them again."

"You are a strong young man and no one convinces you or backs you into a corner or so that is what I believed. If you had just shut me or told me I was crazy... we wouldn't be where we are today. But you didn't do anything. So I did something. I work my two jobs, I go to school, I raise the kids... I told Evari the other day I'd love to be able to come home to you. I'd love for this to have never gone wrong. That I wouldn't ask you to work a day in your life... Just to have you here. But, at the same time I want you to hate me because I know how much I hurt you. I expect for you to hate me... I see it as if you hate me then you can live your life without regret about any of this and that you can go on about your way happily."

"Yes, I know why I am sorry. I am sorry for being a strong, prideful person who refuses help. I'm sorry for keeping myself and our children away from you..."
