Barring Black Lady, this was one the most difficult battles that Perseus had been in. And even then, the sailor had had backup, regardless of how much help Rosalind had been, the two of them had gotten through it together. In the back alley, however, it was just her versus the Negaverse lieutenant in front of her. Perseus had simply been on the way home when the sound of struggle had caught her attention, and the girl had felt compelled to suit up and attempt to save the stranger who was getting attacked. She'd already sustained several bruises and welts caused by the other girl and her damned wire pointer, including one straight across her cheek. Not to say that she hadn't gotten her fair share of punches, kicks, and jabs in either, though. Her self defense teacher probably would have been proud at her progress.
She'd not used her attack yet, simply because of lack of opportunity and the need for a possible hasty escape. Right now, it seemed however, that the battle was going in her direction. Perseus had managed to maneuver into the upper hand during some close quarters fighting, and jabbed her elbow up into the other girls ribcage as hard as she could manage. "Just...accept defeat!" It would make her life so much easier right now. All Perseus wanted was to go home and crawl into bed.
By this time, the fighting had moved beyond the standard love and justice. It was a test of will and stamina now, and Perseus was glad she picked up the extra fighting classes. She was in better shape now that she had been her entire life, and the Soldier of Illusion had a feeling that it would come in handy for this fight.

Selenite had not, in fact, really been in any other fights. It was rather unpleasant that her first one was going so badly. Not that badly, actually; it was just that she'd rather have not fought at all at this particular moment. She'd just about gotten a starseed when the senshi shoved her nose in. The bluenette had pointed out how rude it was to interrupt someone else's business, but that hadn't seemed to hold any water. Not that she'd expected it to.
And while Perseus was sporting what would be some fairly impressive bruises, Selenite wasn't entirely unscathed herself. There'd be a wicked bruise on her ribs later, though it was already making it noticeably harder for her to breathe. "You could run away," she offered after catching her breath. Damn that had hurt. Did Crystal ofter self-defense classes? Selenite made a note to look into it. She had a feeling that they'd come in handy. Especially since her captain was insisting on team training. And it would be so nice to be prepared.
Unfortunately, Selenite was not prepared for close combat and her answering swipe at Perseus' face with her pointer was a little lackluster. Could this get any worse?

The tip of the pointer still drew a stark line of blood against the serious senshi's face, which gave her pause. "Or you could give up." The way Perseus said those words had come off as dead serious, with a sharp edge to her tone. The senshi was sick of playing around, and sick of fighting. She'd backed off when the flash of the metal rod had arched through the air, but her caped swished behind her as she moved back in.
It was time for this fight to be over. Frustrating wracked in her brain as she dodged into the girl again, this time aiming for her face. A hand moved to grab the girls braid in the back. Perseus had found this control technique useful after the time she'd busted her lip in two when a feisty negaverser had head butted her. She aimed her kiss for the corner of Selenite's mouth and wished once again that her attack was not so close range. This was beginning to get dangerous, and she was having a harder and harder time explaining bruises.
Thank the moon they only lasted a few days, but she'd still had to go buy heavy duty stage makeup to hide the worst of it. Even still, just as Selenite had been wishing she'd taken self defense classes, Perseus was incredibly thankful she had.

"And what would that get me," Selenite gasped out. "Killed? No thank you," she continued, shaking her head lightly to clear it. It was rather satisfying to see the cut on the senshi's face, but it was unlikely she'd be able to do anything more serious. Unfortunate.
Much like Perseus moving back in and ow! "How mature," she snarled, trying to swing an elbow into her opponent in order to make her let go. Selenite hadn't had her hair pulled in forever, which made Perseus' grab a painful reminder of why she hated it. "What are you doing?" the Negaverser asked, eyes widening as the senshi moved in to --
"Are you seriously going to kiss me," Selenite asked flatly, trying to shift her head around to avoid it. "You have the worst ability ever."

Perseus kept a firm hold on the braid and finished the task, laying a light kiss on Selenite's cheek. She'd been aiming closer, but with all of the wiggling it was about as good as it was going to get. "Kiss of Illusion." The words echoed slightly, just as always as the magic took effect. "You have no idea...."
She frowned at the girl in front of her, releasing her braid and stepping back to see how her magic would take effect. "And unlike you officers, I don't kill. Pathetic." Perseus might've spit in disgust at this if she were less of a lady. But as it were, she stood silently in the alley a few paces away, breathing heavily.
As soon as Perseus was sure her magic had taken hold, she'd go in for a knockout punch and take back the stolen star seeds she was sure the lieutenant had in her possession. Lightly, a white glove brushed the painful mark on her cheek, the fingers coming back stained with blood.
Fantastic.
Just fantastic.

"That's even worse than this," she said, waving the pointer a bit. Negaverse weapons were a joke, at this stage. Selenite really wanted to earn her promotion to Captain, not least because of the better weapon she was likely to get. But this damn senshi was making her chances seem like they were slipping further and further away. Much like the senshi herself. Selenite frowned and attempted to take a step towards Perseus, who weirdly seemed to be getting further away while staying still.
Shaking her head hard enough to whip the braid around did nothing to clear her vision. "And I'm sure not killing helps you sleep at night," the lieutenant sneered, trying to cover her confusion. "Not removing a threat is so very effective, isn't it."

"Maybe I can beat some sense into you." It was cruel, but so was war. "Besides, I don't have to kill you to stop your collections." Perseus slipped behind the fuzzy lieutenant, posed behind her to offer a jab to the stomach. "Incapacitating you works just as well. Then I'm not sinking to your level." The words coming out of her mouth were frustrating to her. They were so cold and uncaring... she'd changed immensely as a senshi, and Perseus would have to take a long hard look at who she was becoming.
In her momentary pause, Perseus heard boot heels scuffing against pavement. Eyes narrowing, she was distracted from her attack as she looked down the alley, attempting to ascertain just who it was that was joining their little party. Judging by the energy signature, the Senshi of Illusion had a feeling that she wasn't going to like the outcome on her end.
Pausing a bit like a trapped animal, bright eyes darted to all of the possible exits; A fire escape stair, a tall fence and a couple of doors she might be able to bust in. No true escape though, she'd unwisely cornered herself in an alley.

"Is your dance card already full Perseus? Or will you allow someone to cut in?" The voice perhaps too familiar, their interactions to date curious and confusing. Fighting and talking could go hand in hand, a waltz could be a war. If they were literary figures, it might be a debate as to who between them was Sherlock and who was Moriarty, the debate stemming not from morality but from wit. "I think all you have here is the illusion of escape." Bright blue eyes glittered with interest as he glanced between his Lieutenant and her Prey, weighing options in his mind and the scales of course, tilted in favor of duty. The scuff of his boot heels had been a dead give away and he might have cursed himself soundly for it another time. But He'd been too interested in her little speech. Disable rather than destroy... "I'm afraid I can't let you disable her, at least not this time."

"But I'll heal," Selenite managed to point out while Perseus moved...through the wall? Oh that could not be possible, and the bluenette held herself very still, ready to react at the first touch from the senshi. Not that she'd be able to do much good, she admitted privately to herself, as messed up as she was at the moment.
But her opponent hesitated, and after a moment's hard listening, the lieutenant figured out why. Someone was coming, and the lifting of her hopes was quickly reversed as the new arrival spoke.
This was just, ugh. Entirely typical of her career as a Negaverse officer so far, really. "Captain," she said courteously. "Fancy meeting you here." She hadn't turned to face him; Selenite was by now convinced that this would be a bad idea.
