What are Quests?
For those who have never made a quest before, they are generally threads where you can lay out designs (image, personality, etc.) for pets that you would like to see in the Petshop. In the Petshop, Quests are also used to fulfill the owner description requirement that must be completed prior to receiving a teacup. Please note that creating a quest does NOT guarantee that you will get that specific pet it'll probably be very rare.
What are they used for?
Owner Quest
Not really a quest, but more a place to store information or entries on your pet's owner both if they do not have a pet and when they receive one. The creation of an "Owner Quest" is required to rp at the Wooden Door (must be 'Approved'). For customs and blank teacups, this is used to determine the pet's personality and special qualities. These can be as long/short as you want, but please include important info (brief Personality and History) - very detailed Owner Quests are only required for Pet Growth. Please make AT MOST TWO Owner Quests (unused owners should be dropped in the Approval/Drop Requests). NOTE: You should provide the link to your Owner Quest somewhere in your pet quest/journal.

Many people like to create quests to determine how balanced or appropriate their character sounds before it is created. Shadomu will never infrequently visit the quest threads to pick and choose certain characters that have the chance to become available pets in the shop. These pets will be offered to the quester at the standard flatsale price HOWEVER they will be required to complete an rp "test" (in PRP style) with one or multiple Tea Stall staff. Alternately, they may be needed for special Quest Events.
Never expect too much for these sorts of flatsales. The amount of resemblance of the pet to your quested creature is completely up to the discretion of the artist. You have the choice not to take the flatsale, and the pet will be offered to the public instead, but be aware that the same creature type will NEVER be sold in the Tea Stall again.
Fair warning: most pet quests will NOT be accepted on whim (since I am only one artist and have high expectations/hopes for our members). There are no guarantees that you will get that pet just because you made a quest for it.
Semi-Customs
It is required that semi-customs fulfill a quest for their requested animal. For a full list of available semi-custom options, please see the Back Alley for more details.
Things to include:
○ Atleast a short introductory paragraph of your character (may be longer)
○ Details related to the requested custom modification (see Back Alley for details)
Full Customs
For those ordering full customs, you musts completely fill the Full Custom Order Form on the Back Alley thread AND complete a full quest thread with enough information to potentially fill a journal.
That means, your quest should contain the same basic elements for a journal (see the Journal Thread), and be very detailed in regards to your pet.
Pet Quests
To be considered, all pet quests must have as a minimum:
○ Creature Type
- - Common name AND genus species name. Remember, only "real life" animals allowed.
○ Small blurb on the real animal
- - Abilities etc. that make that animal special. The better you understand the animal, the better it shows us that you will understand your pet's habits and behaviors!
○ Tea type
- - Be specific! Just 'Green tea' is not enough!
○ Element
- - Only one
○ Flavor
○ Personality
○ Completed Owner Quest link
○ Pet's purpose for existence
- - What desire do they fill in their owner's life?
○ Appearance Details / Must Haves (Optional)
**TIP: Shadomu draws guys 99.99999999% of the time, so it's best to quest for a MALE pet.
(I'll update this list later too...Again, resemblance to your quested pet if accepted is completely at the discretion of the artist)
How to Start One
All quests threads are created by members (not the staff), and should use the same Title Thread Format as below:

The type of animal you want your pet to be. You must be specific (for example: "Sika Deer" is better than "Deer"). You can leave it in genus species form if you prefer (for example: "Cervus nippon"). Petshop staff will leave you a comment to be more specific if you are not. For Owner Quests, you may just write "Human" in this spot
○ Gender
Please indicate:
- ♂ for Male
- ♀ for Female
○ Name
Name of either the owner or pet
○ Username
Your username
○ Status
Please use the following format:
[WIP] for "Work in Progress" when you are changing/setting up your quest
[OP] for "Open" when you are opening your quest to comments /critiques / approval
[C] for "Closed" if you no longer wish to receive comments/critiques
[AP] for "Approved" and is edited in by the Petshop staff. For Owner Quests, you are now free to Roleplay at the Wooden Door (for owners only). Ah, you can still comment on other peoples' quests after approval! Curse you character limit. For Pet Quests, your thread will be locked and the artist is currently creating your pet.
An example of a correctly created Pet Quest title:

For a Multi-Owner title (please limit to max 2 owners per pet):

But I want a....
The petshop will create ONLY ONE of each type of animal. That means you can not quest for an animal already created for and belonging to another owner. However, you can quest for the same animal that someone else is questing for as long as you are aware only ONE can be potentially chosen. Only "real life" animals are allowed for questing (this means no dragons, phoenixes or other mythological creatures) since these are only offered through very special events by the shop. The only exception is if you are preparing a thread for a custom pet (please see the The Back Alley thread for details.

Also note, even though it says max 2 owners per pet, both owners must be played by YOU. No shared ownership of pets with other users. Owners must also be somehow involved with each other - twins, married couple, etc.
