Tinctured with superstition The bonds began to scream This phantasmal illumination Revealing aweful things Sagacious and astonishing The fiend began to bite Intoxicated still comsuming I plucked his eye that night Caught in duplicity And egregious acts I feel not guilty My sins I've not kept track
Simple retaliation For the witch's deed A pen-knife mutilation The fiend began to bleed Morning returned reason Along with remorse I've committed no treason To take such a course
The scars soon repair The pain is fictional No screams fill the air Yet the manner is dismal The spirit of awkwardness Still lingers in the fog And soon the state did progress Until I did smog The beast that vexed me I slipped around its neck A rope tied to a tree The end of his trek
Hung because of the love It once shared for me Now like a black dove He haunts me eternally Forever to bear the guilt My soul in jeopardy My own grave I have built Out of agony I killed the only thing That was a friend of mine His spirit perpetually sings So frightful and divine
