FGM - Female Genital Mutilation
Well, in some developing countries... There has now been a confirmation of tribes who do an ancient practice called FGM.
FGM is a practice where a woman's genitals are cut open. Her clitoris is cut off so that she cannot feel sexual pleasure with herself or anyone else, and her vaginal opening is sown shut so that she cannot have multiple sexual relationships. (However, there is still a small opening usually left for urination and menstruation.)
This, is a terrifying form of sexual mutilation and sexual assault. Women in these tribes who try to run away from their fate are often caught again and their toes are either cut off or broken. That way, they cannot run anymore.
The worst part of this whole thing is... Women themselves have to perform this on other women and young girls. Some as young as five or six. This is mainly a custom in Middle Eastern countries and some African countries.
There are many sexual side-effects, as reduced sexual pleasure and a higher likelihood of sexual infection.
War Rape
Believe it or not, sometimes soldiers do more damage than good.
"War Rapes" are rapes that occur when a soldier comes into another country and rapes the native women.
In Vietnam, while American soldier were fighting, they had caught the native Vietnamese women and children there and had raped them systematically.
This brought a lot of attention to the people back in America at the time, and it was a very dark age for a soldier.
However, in Japan. They purposely had created special brothels where they would capture Japanese women and hold them hostage there for the Japanese soldiers to come back and rape them. These women were called "comfort women". They were only used when a man wanted some "comfort" from a woman while he was at war.
Because of the limited amount of women they had... Women in these brothels had to undergo FGM. So that they could appear to still be virgins. Their vaginas were sown shut so that a man could ram inside of her again and get the feeling that he is raping a virgin.
