Tonight found Maia meandering across the rooftop of Meadowview High, in an attempt to view the majority of the school ground with relative ease. She had realized as of late that if you were a senshi trouble was bound to find you where ever you were, so she was becoming a bit annoyed that they were basically required to go looking for it. It seemed extremely ludicrous in her opinion and yet she patrolled quite often like tonight.
Maia stopped and looked over the side clearly visible to the football feild and shuttered slightly thinking on the other reason she avoided the ground tonight.
No dirt, meant no mud youmas! Or at least that was what she hopped as her eyes scanned over the baseball and soccer fields before roaming up to the tennis courts.
Maia shivered slighty as a gust of wind swept by leaving her with goosebumps.

Spinel had, as a civilian, attended Meadowview High for the entirety of a year and a half. It had been directly after his father's death and the move down from a small town in Canada; being, suddenly, in an inner-city school with people who thought of his accent as cute or irritating was not exactly his idea of a good time. Still, he'd met a few good friends there--friends who now, unfortunately, were largely dead. It was for nostalgia that he visited the campus now; for nostalgia that, as a senshi, he was intending to take the starseed of anyone he met while there.
(He was, by anyone's reckoning, a monster.)
His first instinct upon seeing a fellow senshi was to jump her--attack physically, because he wasn't in the mood to play nice. He was pissed off, lonely; felt tormented by ghosts of the past. But he restrained it, brushed himself off after the jump. Spinel combed his bangs in front of the star mark, covered up the gaping hole in his chest--it wasn't any use if she was aware of his oppressive "evil" aura, but it might buy him a few seconds to herd her towards the edge of the building. Then, as put-together as he thought he could get, he called out to her. "Hello!" And then continued forward, hand drifting towards his sixth bell, expression genial. Hopefully she would start to walk, too--away from him, towards the lip of the building.

Maia felt that there seemed to be no threat about or civilian sneaking around that would undoubtedly draw a youma. She smiled and turned to leave when someone called out a greeting. She turned to see a senshi and an oddly dressed one at that. He had no white on him and even more so he had a bell in his hands. That was different wasn't it.
Maia frowned, "I have just finished my patrol here and the area is youma free. I am about to retire to another area," she called making no move to move toward or away from the other.
Maia turned and headed for the front of the building with every intention of jumping down onto the front awning. She knew she was more agile and stronger as a senshi, but unlike the other she did not often roof hop or jump from buildings. She had only actually see one person do so and it had been a dark senshi, who ended up teleporting to the ground half way.

God, could she talk any more like a dictionary? He ran the edge of his thumb around the inside of the bell, drawing a harsh tone from the clapper and then a faint chime. You didn't have to point or gesture or even necessarily really shake the bell to get the effect of his attack; you just had to ring the bell three times. And if you lived by the spirit of the letter, but not the law...
"Perhaps you'd appreciate company on your route," he asked, smiling still, but it had taken a slightly vicious turn at the corners; his brown eyes were narrow, so narrow, cold and calculating. Was he close enough to push her off yet? Not quite, he decided, and he drew another ring from his bell. "It will probably be quite short, Sailor..." His voice trailed off, and he hoped she'd fill in her name and sphere. Always best to know who you were handing over to the Queen, wasn't it?
Indeed it was. He widened the insincere smile, took another step closer.

Maia gave the boy a strange, his smils held no warmth. It was obvious to someone as friendly as Maia that his smile and offer both seemed off.
She frowned when he tried to gain her name and couldn't help but notice he seemed be doing something with his bells. The whole situation seemed terrible wrong and so Maia bottled her fear.
"No, I do think I would appreciate that," she said darting to the buildings egde and jumping off.
She hadno doubt he would follow, for some odd reason and when she landed she sprinted away from the school heading for the soccer field.

He knew something was up at her strange look; she looked like she was about to bolt, like a fawn in the headlights of a car. Looked like his game was about to get cut short, really, he'd have to straight-up fight her now. Which sucked, because the night had seemed to be shaping up. Had some of the aura slipped out of his control? Damnit!
She moved closer to the edge and he followed, a little quicker; but she didn't stay long enough for the attack to have effect. He shoved the bell back into its pouch. Alright, she could run, he acknowledged, but he was bigger; his longer legs afforded him a little more speed. There wasn't anyone else here, if she was to be believed, and he really could benefit from bringing a starseed to the Queen. He could always benefit from bringing a senshi's starseed to the Queen.
He dropped from the building, then, and gave chase. It was easy enough to catch up, especially from familiarity with the grounds. Soon enough, he reached out to attempt to grab her elbow, saying, "Let's see how dark your blood is!" Any attempt to seem calm and trustworthy was gone; all that was left in his brown eyes was savagery and hate.

Maia felt finger brush against the back of her fuku and looked back to see the other senshi looked ready to kill, and now she was sure her was like the other ... corrupted. Terror ran through her vains as her thoughts screamed at her. How had he caught up, she was fast. It was her saving grace as a senshi, her legs were very strong and she was fast.
She still had a distance to run, but the boy was far too close he would catch her. Maia span mid-run as quickly and as hard as she could lurching her leg out to kick him as hard as she could, hoping her would double over.

The kick caught him off-guard, but it also caught his hip only--and while that hurt, it wasn't the disabling damage she'd obviously been hoping for. He stumbled, but he used the loss of balance to his advantage in that he attempted to sweep her leg out from under her, both hands catching the ground hard. Still, there was a great deal of force in the kick he was employing, and then he also had only a little bit more effort to expend if he had to get away.
Which he doubted he would--this fight definitely seemed to be going his way.
"Nice try, little girl," he said when he had both feet under him again. "Stand and fight, why don't you?"

Maia didn't look to see if he had fallen, but instead attempted to take off once more only to get trip.
Maia went flying forward, with a lot of moment. She threw her hands out, which connected with the ground quickly. Tumble. She tucked her head and let the moment carry her a bit away. About three rolls and she came untucked in a crouch position looking at the once again standing dark senshi.
His taunt was not needed to make her stand. She jumped up, her heart beating wildly and took off once more.
Soccer field, soccer field, soccer field ... almost, almost she chanted in her head. The soccer field was by a wooded area which separated the school from sort of housing development. If she needed to hopefully she would be able to escape.

This little girl was just pissing him off, and it was a waste of time, too. She didn't seem concerned with dispatching a potential threat; a coward, he thought. All the same, he didn't want to ******** fuss with the brat anymore. There were at least a hundred other senshi, he was willing to bet, and--
Well. He stopped, watching the green-clad figure run.
He could let it go. Deep breath. Really, he was too annoyed to keep up with the patrol; all he could think of was how absolutely irritated he was. He turned on his heel, took a few steps forward, and teleported home.
