This is literally just the story behind the new MCR Video, Sing, but in Mikey's POV. I'm writing it off the top of my head, but I guess bursts of inspiration come to me like that. My best writing is raw, so let's take it from the top, shall we?
Mikey's POV: We're driving down the main road into Battery City as I speak, and the tension in the car is ridiculous. Ray and Frank are sat in the back, prepping themselves up for what's about to unfold, whilst Gerard is sat in the drivers seat, stone still, apart from the odd twitch of a hand to steer the car. I guess none of us are speaking, because we know full well what's about to happen. We know the risks, and we know we have to be on form if we want any chance of escape. It's going to be the four of us, against the hundreds of Vamps and Industry Directors inside the building, and our tactic? Well I'm not sure we really have one... We're going to have to act fast and react quickly to the movements of our startled enemies. We have one goal today, and that is to get the girl out of there.
We've just made it into the tunnel; Frank is pulling on his gloves, whilst Ray adjusts his hair eye patch, a new accessory he gained last time we came head to head with the Better Living a** holes. They both seem fine, pretty calm if I don't say so myself. It's only Gerard who I'm really worried about. I've never seen him like this. He hasn't slept since the girl was taken from us, nor has he blinked for the past five minutes. The only time he even averts his gaze from the gates coming up fast ahead of us, is to look down at her picture, on the dash board. I've seen him angry before, and I know when he means business, but this is just above anything I've ever seen before. I just hope he knows what he's doing.
He's just pushed down on the accelerator. I thought we were moving quickly before, but obviously I'd misjudged it. The engine is revving beyond fifth gear, and the speed dial is creeping into the hundreds zone. That gate is starting to look a little more sturdy then I first thought. I look over to Gerard in the hope that he'll give me some kind of hint as to what's going on, but he just smiles, his eye brows narrowing as he puts his foot right down, the force causing the rest of us to be sucked back into our seats the guards up ahead finally notice us, and start firing at the car. It's too late to turn back now...
SMASH!
We made it through! Phase one complete, with the sound of that vamp rolling over the bonnet inspiring a little more confidence in us all. Even Gerard let out a small smirk as he looked in the rear view mirror, and saw them land on the ruin which was their gate. I guess they're weren't expecting us, which gives us the element of surprise. At least we have an advantage to our name now...
Now we're out of the tunnel, we're going to have to do the rest on foot, Unfortunately, our car can't drive through concrete, as much as we'd like it to. As we get out of the car, I can see the vamps and guards shuffling around in a mild panic as they try to sort their weapons, ready to defend. I don't get time to stop though, because Gerard is on the war path. Frank and Ray are following, pacing themselves, as we all make our way to the bridge. Our guns are in their holsters, and we mean business. We're not here to piss about. This isn't a game anymore.
Two of the guards have popped up from behind the corners of the bridge, but we're prepared. Our arms out stretched out, triggers at our finger tips, and before the bastards get a chance to fire, we've burnt a hole through their armour, leaving them to rot on the floor. Like I said, we're not here to play games.
We keep moving, our fast pace maintained as we fire a few more shots into the guys at reception. Thankfully, this building is mostly made of glass, we can see where we have to go, and they can't hide from us. We fire a few more rounds into the vamps, before bursting into the room where she is. Our girl, sweet little Grace. Ray and myself take posts either side of the room, whilst Frank and Gerard make their way into the room.
When he grabbed her, I thought he was going to break down their and then. She had been the reason for his suffering these past few days. She had been the reason he'd been so focused, and now he had her. Things were finally looking up. But we couldn't stop just yet.
"C'mon" Frank ordered, beaconing to the two with his free hand, and one of his trademark smiles. Immediately, the two stood up, and turned back to continue on the last leg of our journey. Hopefully, the other killjoys in the area would be outside ready for us by now. That's right, we had back up. Believe it or not, we weren't as confident about this part of the plan as we were the first.
Our steps quickened as we started marching down the corridor to through the designated escape route. Grace was leading the way, whilst the rest of us kept on guard, and kept moving. It was only the breeze of the opening lift to my left that put us on red alert. We kept moving for a while, before turning on the spot, and firing, only to find that they'd surrounded us from both sides. We'd managed to run into an open room before reacted; more space to dodge, and all that.
That's when all hell broke lose. There were bullets and lasers flying all around us, and Grace just stood there, her hands over her ears, trying her best to be brave. We knew they wouldn't hurt her, so we leapt into action, Ray and Frank taking flank cover, whilst Gerard and myself went back to back, brothers fighting for the same cause.
I'd like to think we were an unbeatable team, as we gunned down about ten of them between us. It was all running as smoothly as it could, and the adrenaline rushing through my veins was intense. I just felt like this was right, and everything was going to be fine. We could take them!
It was only when I heard Grace screaming that I realised Gerard was no longer by my side. When I turned to look for him, it was too late. The director had him against the wall, gun to his lower jaw. Gerard didn't even flinch as he looked his enemy straight back in the eye, all the while I was fighting my way towards them, praying I'd get there before they got him... but I was too late.
The trigger was pulled, and Gerard's limp body fell to the floor, lifeless. It was a clean shot, and I couldn't do anything about it. I could only see red.
Raising my gun up so I had my sight in line, I fired, my aim true enough, until I felt the most horrendous burning sensation in my side...
I never found out if I got him... At least Gerard can rest easy now...
Disclaimer: Obviously, this is just my interpretation of the video. I claim no rights to the base storyline, I'm just elaborating with my poor grammar and spelling mistakes.
