A yawn rolled off the girl's tongue as she stretched her arms out over her head. The Senshi of Dragonflies had gotten a late start on patrolling, a habit she had forced herself into, and it was noticeable. But she pressed onward, after all she snuck out of her house for this, and found herself in the park. She found herself chuckling softly because she almost always found herself in the park.

Probably because it was the area she knew best and if s**t went down, well she'd have an easier time escaping when necessary. She shook her head and lightly slapped her cheeks in a futile attempt at making herself more alert. Maybe she shouldn't have gone out after all. Oops. Oh well it couldn't be helped now, she was already here and it'd take a good hour or two to get back to her house.

Might as well kill some time in the park while she was there.

She walked on the paved pathway, passing the swing set and merry-go-round, before stepping off it and continuing across the grass to her favorite spot in the park. Right near one of the bigger ponds.

Right near one of the ponds, one would see a male sleeping there. Well, he looked like he was sleeping. But upon closer inspection, the headphones softly blaring music indicated that the napper wasn't napping.

Euterpe didn't patrol. At least, he didn't not daily. Once in awhile, he did. But this wasn't one of those times. the only reason Euterpe was in senshi form was to protect himself if necessary from random youma. Including the fact, Euterpe wasn't really known for responsibility .. It was one of the concepts he literally and figuratively ran from. That and a whole lot of other things. (Like mad women and men.)

Euterpe thought his name should be in the dictionary next to the word "irresponsibility." But obviously, his good looks and great personality would put the poor book to shame. Oh, you shy dictionary, you.

His eyes rolled downwards, neck stretched and looking back from his current lying position, his dark olive green eyes registered someone coming towards him. Oh! A person. Who was it? It was a little hard to discern when one looked up at a person from the ground, seeing them upside down. But that wasn't enough to get him up.

As Denebola walked closer to the pond she felt a shift in the air, like static, that made the hair on her neck stand on end. She shivered and froze as her dual colored eyes slowly scanned the area around her. It was a sensation the girl wasn't used to, it was the feeling she got whenever something magical was in the area, whether it was a youma or another senshi or even someone from the negaverse. She still didn't quite understand what it mean, all she knew was that she needed to be more careful whenever she felt it.

Then she spotted Euterpe's silhouette next to the pond. Curious she jogged closer stopping a few feet away. She frowned at his position, why was he looking at her upside down?

"Who are you and what are you doing?" Denebola asked cocking a brow and placing a hand on her hip. Straight to the point was the easiest way to get her answers.

"Well. I'm lying upside down. Getting a not-so-revealing look up your skirt or trying to anyways." Euterpe commented, his olive green eyes rising to meet her mismatched ones. It was one of the first times he came across someone with that sort of condition.. Interesting.

Very.

"You know, there seems to be a lot of females running around as senshi nowdays. Are you guys an all-girls club or something? The male ratio seems like it's one to five or something." Euterpe noted, assuming that she was a senshi. What else could excuse the clothing style? Ignorantly, Euterpe chose not to be on his guard but he had accurately judged that this girl wasn't a threat.

... Or for now anyways.

Denebola certainly wasn't expecting Euterpe's reply and it showed in her slightly shocked expression, her furrowed brows and slight frown, and the way her hand fell from her lip like she didn't know how to respond. She recovered quickly with a small smirk appearing on her lips and the placement of both hands on her hips. She leaned forward slightly and shook her head. "Well you certainly aren't doing a good job of that are you?"

She stood straighter and shifted her weight on to her left food. "Perhaps, although I've certainly met more boys than girls," she replied with a small shrug. "I've met three boy senshi and only one girl," she stated in a matter-of-fact tone of voice.

"Frankly I feel like the minority," she sighed.

Euterpe liked her shocked expression-- but he also liked that expression too. She was smart and knew how to use her wits, he decided. Interesting. "I guess I'm not. Let me quess. Is it green, matching the color of your outfit? Perhaps it's blue or pink too. My curiosity increases, care to enlighten me?" Euterpe asked light-heartedly, hands tucked behind his head as he sprawled out onto the glass.

"Really? That's a surprise. No problem, you'll meet all the girls soon enough. All gorgeous, out to save the world and that other jazz." Euterpe focused his concentration to what was ahead of him, the pond shimmering with moonlight. One could see ripples where the fish was swimming and the deeper sections of the pond where the water was crystal clear.

Gorgeous view.

Denebola liked that he had no problem replying quickly with something witty. It just proved that not everyone was stupid. She shook her head at him, a playful smile on her lips as she spoke, "Well, that's for me to know and for you to find out." She was amused by this other senshi which was nice because her other meetings hadn't been so...playful. With Taranis it was all about training, with Gunn it had been about dusting a youma and with Chaonis it had been all about arguing. This was nice, it was better. "Where would the fun be if I just told you the answer?" She asked stepping forward. "That'd be too easy and easy is boring," she stated with a sharp nod.

When he told her that it was rather surprising that she had run into more boys than girls she frowned. How odd. "Hm, maybe I just attract boys," she shrugged tapping her chin with her left index finger. "Hah, I doubt that all of them are gorgeous," she told him shaking her head as she spoke. She didn't doubt that many were pretty but she had a hard time believing that all of them were pretty. Either way it didn't matter, Denebola knew that she was one of the most beautiful ones, if not the most beautiful. Of course that was simply just her opinion.

Her dual-colored gaze lingered on the other senshi for a minute, as if she was trying to figure out what he was thinking or what kind of person he was because really, she seeing a fraction of his personality right now. Slowly she let her gaze follow his. She stared at the moonlit pool and let herself smile at the sight of it. It was a softer smile, one that you'd see when you looked at your parents and could see how happy they were together(if they were happy together).

"Breathing taking isn't it?" She asked with a soft sigh. "This is my favorite pond in the park."

"Breathtaking for the toothfairy perhaps." Euterpe grinned, chuckling, his eyes focused ahead on the pond in front of the two. Apparently, the male didn't have much of a romantic bone in his body-- or parents to envision. Did Luke have a happy family? Nobody was quite sure since the male avoided topics that pertained too deeply to himself.

"It's like a date-o! Scenery, girl, guy and moonlight. It would be perfect if I wasn't reminded of youma, negaverse and all that great parts of life when I look at this outfit." Euterpe lifted up a gloved hand, fingers slowly closing in on his palm. "Heroes have no time for romance-- it's called saving the world and revealing your secret identity, never quite living in peace." he spoke in a exaggerated tone, like a tragic protaganist, his hand on his chest as if to act out the pain.

"Are you comparing me to a fairy then?" She laughed lightly at the thought. "If you want a date you just have to ask," she teased stepping closer to him. "Though you certainly haven't proved to be very romantic," she tsk-tsked. She was only a yard or two away from him now. Denebola most certainly was amused by Euterpe and the conversation that passed back and forth.

She couldn't help but roll her eyes at his dramatics but she also couldn't help but grin as she tried not to laugh at him. "Oh woe is you, the life of a senshi is so hard!" She exclaimed pressing the back of her hand to her forehead dramatically.

As he grasped his chest as though he was in pain she pretended to be ridiculously concerned. "Oh no!" She exclaimed darting forward to help him. "Good sir, is there anything I can do to--" Out of the blue she tripped over something and found herself falling, directly on top of him.

"Comfort you?" She finished pushing herself up slightly as she looked down at him a small blush on her cheeks.

When she fell on top of him, Euterpe was equally surprised, although that didn't hinder his wide grin from spreading. He took her hand, helping to pull her up to her feet, already standing on his own. He waved his hand in a motion of dismissal, his expression in a comedic act of depression, shook his head. "Alas, a hero must spurn the attentions and offers of assistance because he's destined to walk this tragic path alone. Unless you're offering a one-night of tavern fun, I'm afraid I must refuse your offer."

It was the truth. United as they might be now, or how the original scouts were in the past, each senshi was essentially alone. As a person, one was born alone. Parents, siblings, relatives-- all couldn't be there all the time with you. They were never ever completely there with you-- Or so Luke's beliefs went.

"It doesn't look like anything's happening tonight. I'm gonna duck out early. Do you need a ride home or anything?" Euterpe offered, hands crossing behind his head. He was always equipped with a second helmet these days.

The senshi of dragonflies was rather quiet as he helped her to her feet. It seemed like she was always falling on top of people! She had never been so clumsy before and her embarrassment was rather clear. Still she did her best to shake it off and act as if it hadn't phased her at all.

"Oh, good sir I cannot offer you that, not yet but perhaps another day," she sighed heavily continuing to play the part up. "Though you only have to walk alone if you so chose to," she commented tapping her chin thoughtfully. When he continued to speak she glanced around, he was correct, nothing was really happening. Maybe she shouldn't have gone out after all.

"Sure," she nodded. "That'd be nice," she told him.

They just reached his motorcycle in the parking lot, both senshi standing there as Euterpe pulled off a helmet to offer it to the other. The ride home was mostly silent save for a few sentences asking for directions of the general area to drop her off.

Perhaps one could blame it due to the late hour and lack of energy or simply because Euterpe was concentrating on the roads. At the sidewalk, it occurred to Euterpe when he was about to leave that he didnt introduce himself. (Hey, he had a hard time remembering other people's names but he wasn't about to let somebody dub him as 'Mr. Stranger.' )

"I'm Euterpe. I recommend falling on top of people, it's a great way to make people remember you. They just can't forget something so memorable, you know?" He slyly grinned, relaxing against his motorcycle seat, putting his arms behind his head, winking at Denebola.

Great great way.

Denebola didn't mind the silence much, it was rather nice and frankly she was more concerned with not falling off the motorcycle. For someone who was rather well off she had never had the experience and while she wasn't afraid she certainly didn't like the idea of falling off!

As she got off the bike she smoothed out her skirt then looked up at him when he introduced himself. Oh hey, they hadn't introduced themselves. Oops. They both had been distracted by witty banter. Pushing hair from her eyes she grinned. "I'll have to try it more often," she cracked with a wink of her own.

Hey it worked for her, why deny it or try to stop it. "Denebola, don't you forget it," she told him wagging finger at him. She pulled her phone out and waved it at him. "Trade info with me, if you ever get in a bind I'd be happy to help."
PostPosted: Thu Nov 18, 2010 1:56 pm

Euterpe flipped out his phone, trading numbers with the other senshi. He doubted he would call (hey, power rangers could take on monsters by themselves. So could transformers and all those other legendary heroes of time. You didn't see Optimus Prime calling for help ok.)

But in case of extremely extreme emergencies, it was good to be cautious. He slipped his phone back into his pocket, waving a wave of farewell towards Denebola. Thankfully, the streets were empty to ride home. Running into the police wasn't something he had on his list tonight and leaving his motorcycle to get stolen.

Of course, at some point later that night, he'd remember that he had the option of henshining down. BUT THAT WASNT COOL OK. But for today, a safe trip home was a safe trip home.

Denebola had him drop her off a couple of streets away from her actual one. Another thing she had learned from Taranis, don't give more information than you have to. Though he'd probably chastise her if he found out that she had let someone get so close to her house. Still she knew it was up to her to do what she thought was best and to make mistakes if she did.

You couldn't learn if you didn't mess up every now and then.

She watched him drive off for a minute before starting down the street, aiming for a darkened alley before she too henshined down and slipped back into her bedroom. While the night hadn't been a battlefield it had certainly been eventful.

It was nice to meet another senshi on a not so serious note. Comforting really.
