The rain was falling gently to the ground, creating a musical pitter patter on the leaves of the trees above her. Laughing Shadows had wandered from her usual area early that morning when no clouds had been in sight. WHen the cloud cover had become thick she had searched for a cave to hide in until the storm was over. As the clouds grew black and tall she found herself stuck without shelter. So when the first drops began to fall she stared sullenly out from under a set of leaves, trying hard to stay dry.

Eventually however Laughing Shadows grew bored of this and as the rain slowed she decided that instead of cowering from the rain she would, instead, play in it. Remembering her talk with Water's Grace she tipped her head back and let out a pleasant laugh. Slowly the youth closed her eyes and listened to the sounds around her. As a beat grew in her mind she allowed her body to move to it, creating a slow, almost sensual dance as she did so. She knew she'd stay till the rain stopped then. Dancing in the rain was just too much fun!

Does were weird. Peeper paused in his head-long bounce through the rain to study the doe dancing around in the rain. Weird. He had a heavy mouthful of seaweed for Crunch -- oh Crunch, the simultaneous bane and joy of his life -- and the rain was making it more slippery than usual.

And it made the taste truly terrible. Horrendous, in fact. Hopefully Crunch would still like it.

He started off again, but his grip on the seaweed was off; it slithered out of his mouth and landed on the ground with a loud, wet SHORLP that made him lay his ears back.

Laughing Shadows was entirely unaware of the Kimeti watching her as she danced in the rain like a fool. The young doe was too busy enjoying herself and the beat of the Swamp and the rain as it fell to really pay much mind to anything else. The conversation with Water's Grace had proven to be an inspiration to the youth, and she wanted to fully experience everything she came across. Or at least, experience as much as she could in this lifetime. That would be enough for her.

The sound of something falling against the wet earth snapped the doe out of her reverie and she glanced around curiously for what could have made such a wet slapping noise. With a c**k-eyed grin she glanced at the buck not far off and gave another laugh, this one a mix of embarrassment and amusement, before trotting over to him.

"Having trouble?" With another grin and a glance at the seaweed on the ground, she bent her neck so that she could nudge it with her nose, getting a full whiff of the stinky stuff as she did so, "Why are you carrying this through the rain...?" It was odd someone would carry such a slimy thing in the rain - she couldn't imagine how bad it would taste after she'd smelled it!

Peeper made a face. "For a turtle. My --um. Friend. Has a giant blue turtle and I help feed it because it was -- err. Sort of a gift." A turtle was the sort of gift that a kimeti gave another kimeti that they were maybe sort of seriously into. And promising upkeep was about the most transparent way to ensure that the kimeti in question stayed close to the other kimeti in question. If Peeper's 'friend' hadn't figured that out, no wonder he was hauling seaweed in the rain. Finding the right gift to top a turtle would be some serious work.

"It ate all the dead leaves, so I've been bringing it this now. It seems to do the trick; keeps it busy chewing so it doesn't go after anyone's tail or anything." He flicked his own in irritation.

Laughing Shadows pulled her body around so her full attention was focused on this new kimeti with the stinky stuff, a bemused grin on her face and a twinkle of curiousity and mischief in her eyes. Though she doubted he was being honest with her, she nodded along as if she did. "Well, I hope that your friend apprecites you helping them with this."

She bent her neck down so she could sniff the stuff one more time and wrinkled her nose in an exagerrated fashion, "It reeks! How can the turtle possibly like it...?"

With a small shake of her head, she shrugged her shoulders, curious and more than a bit bored, "And do you need any help?" At that, she had leaned forward to peer at him closely as if to judge his answer carefully to weigh what he said.
