Grrr.............. (though wahoo that it's finally out and wahoo e-books that let me download the thing at 7 in the morning)
Okay I wasn't expecting anything significant to come from this latest short story, as far as the main plot of the Dresden Files is concerned, but I had hoped for something. I mean other than finding out he fell into the waters, nothing! The little details about the void caused by the Red's death was nice but it wasn't what any of us cared about dang it!
The story was interesting though (all of Muprhy's Martian talk was awesome) and it is always nice to hear about Dresden from someone else (like in Tom's story). I really liked Murphy said Dresden was like an autustic person.

I can't wait to get this book, so far the only shorts I've read are the free ones on the site, Backup, Even Hand, and Something Borrowed. I wonder what other POVs we'll see in future stories.

I expected it to be delivered on the day it was released. Nope, got it three days later. Stupid Barnes and Noble. I doubt he'll be out with another anthology soon. Though his completion of the Codex Alera series should mean he has more time for the Dresden Files, he spent years writting the short stories that appeared in this one. (And damn if he didn't do a good job). It'll take him some time to make enough stories for a new one.

J. Dragonhater On a side note, "Day Off" just plain awesome. I'm hoping to read that one next, I've been checking out the short story collections until I can pick up Side Jobs from the library. I guess having one day to relax was just too much for Harry to hope for lol

I had a free download in an Audible demo, so I downloaded Side Jobs. I've listened to the first few stories (so about a 1/4 to 1/3 of the way though). However, the penultimate Wheel of Time book came out today, so, ah, as much as I love Dresden, I have like 15-20 years of my life invested in Rand-land, so I need to read this one first. NEED.
Does anyone know if the short story from the RPG (AAAA Wizardry) is in Side jobs? I own the RPG book and all, but it'd be nice to have it in the anthology as well.

I did not see AAAA in Side Jobs sadly. It seems to be an exclusive to the RPG book.

I love reading about Dresden from the other character's perspective, especially because it helps me understand how his character looks to other people, something I need to know if I'm ever going to do that Harry cosplay I want to do so badly!
