Story

Very slightly before, or almost at the same time as the MHC facility was built, an England based agency was created. Being able to hold around 100 different species, they are the first port of call for storing and capturing the creatures to be studied.

They are a low security containment facility, where many dangerous creatures were on the verge of a break out. They had made many advances in technology, but still underestimated certain species of creatures.

Then, the MHC was created after about 1/2 years of this facility being in business. The dangerous monsters had to be removed for the safety of the staff, and the tamer creatures. So, creatures such as Tsukiko were transferred to MHC in the desert, and Takara, who is my character in the MHC RP, was sent straight to the MHC rather than going to the English facility first, because she had been accused of killing but no-body from this facility understood her. She was sent there in the hopes that someone may be able to test on her and research her.

RP Plotline

This RP will be based in a high-tec capture and contain facility in England - to be exact hidden in the Pennine mountains. You can play a hunter, a beast, a researcher/staff member or an animal activist of sorts.

Hunter;
As hunter, your role is to silently capture and transport your target creature to the facility in the mountains. You must keep it low key, and try not to injure the creature. You can play any variation so, you could be someone who enjoys hurting the creatures before they capture them, or someone who just darts them (but where's the fun in that ;D)

Beast;
As a beast you play a so-called mythical creature. You can begin in the facility, or you can begin in the wilderness. You can be deadly, or you can be misunderstood, or even cute and cuddly, yet still being tested on. I was hoping if you play a beast, maybe you could play something a bit different, broaden your horizons so to speak. But if not it's not a problem ^^.

Researcher/Staff member:
This field allows for a lot of freedom. You could play a researcher that orders or carries out tests on the creatures. Or you could be a staff member that is involved in taking care of each animal.

Animal Activist;
Taking on this role, you take on a HUGE responsibility. You play an ordinary person who stumbles across the facility, and is determined to help the creatures no matter what may come your way, no matter how dangerous they are. It is of course, up to you how you take on this role, you can be flexible, creative, spontaneous.

Through the thick layer of low cloud that hung around this morning, the only part of Falixus' white stature that could be seen was his gleaming orange fangs. They darted forwards, and then disappeared beneath the vulnerable flesh of a brown bear. People thought that bears were a threat in the forests of england...hah! Falixus was uber compared to them.

With a sharp jerking motion, the wyvern snapped the bear's neck in seconds, ceasing it's grumbling and wriggling. 5 minutes then passed before the whole body - bones and all - had been devoured by the white beast. Falixus' sensitive ears pricked as he heard a twig cracking behind him. He swung his massive head around to get a look, and let his bright eyes pierce the darkness to look.

A blue haired female swung her bag under a rather cluttered desk. Angela then flung her hat onto her spinny chair, and removed her suede outdoor jacket. With a sigh, the intellectual head researcher slipped her favoured white lab coat over her frame, and buttoned the one button that sat at her stomach. The woman then tied her hair back, and pushed her glasses higher up on her nose. Angela kissed the tip of her finger, then pressed it to the picture that sat on her desk, blessing her daughter's soul for the first time this morning.

Angela then moved to the fax machine. Several pieces of printed on paper sat at the machine, but one of them stood out the most. It was a report of a centaur creature lurking around. Equine beasts were of high importance to Angela, being her favourite and therefore the one she had most knowledge of. The woman ran a finger of the creature's picture with a gleaming smile, studying the beasts impressive structure. With a slightly excited giggle, Angela shoved some stray papers and pens to clear a gap on the desk, and then placed down the report to study it before the rest of the day shift researchers arrived. Usually, Angela would stay the night, but her service man husband had been home from duty, and today was being shipped off to Iran, so, the woman would be taking both shifts for a long time. Thinking about Derek made Angela look at the other photo on her desk. This silver framed picture was of both her husband and her lost child. Her heart plummeted with the sad memories of that tragic day.

~*~*~

"Mummy! Can we go to THAT shop over there?" Mandy asked excitedly. "Hmm? Oh that toy one? Yeah sure," came the happy reply. Angela held her daughter's hand tightly, and walked a little further to the traffic lights. Many had reached her dainty little hand out to press the bright button that made the traffic lights change, and started to bounce around with impatience. "Mandy be careful, Mummy doesn't want you to get hurt now does she?"
"Sorry Mumma," the 5 year old had said.
The green man had flickered up, and Angela started to lead Mandy across the road. It was wierd since no cars were even around as they had started to cross, but Mandy had an obsession with making the green man appear first. She had always told her mother "Safety is the green man Mumma!"

Angela started to ask Mandy why she wanted to go the toy shop, laughing slightly as she did. It was so obvious she wanted yet ANOTHER Barbie doll to go with her horses. But, as she dropped her bag and let go of Mandy's hand to pick it up, squealing tires diverted her attention. A burnt orange colour car had rounded the corner and was careering towards the pair, frozen with fear in the middle of the road. Angela snapped out of this fear, and started to reach for the little girl who was about 3 feet away. Unfortunately, the driver of the car had hit the accelerator rather than the brake, and the speeding vehicle lurched towards Mandy.

Mandy had the split second to turn her head to face her mother, her eyes watering and wide eyed with fear, before the car collided with her tiny frame and a sickening thud and woosh of escaping air attracted many people's attention, causing gasps and cries of help. Angela could do nothing but watch, her eyes glued to the girl, as she hurtled through the air. About 12 feet away from where she was hit, the young girl lay twisted in the road. For Angela, time had stopped. The image of her girl flying through the air was fixed in her mind, and it wasn't until the driver stepped from the car that anything changed. At least he'd stopped right?

Wrong.

Angela screamed at the driver, and ran towards him. The driver was sobbing already, feeling guilty for panicking and hitting the wrong pedal. However, Angela threw her weight at the man, still yelling obscenities at him, and started to pummel her fists into his face. Two other males - probably police but Angela's blind rage stopped her from focusing on anything else but the driver - yanked her off and tried to soothe her. But seeing people crowd around her daughter made her blind rage turn to panic and despair. Scrambling away from the policemen, Angela scooped her daughter's head up into her arms, wincing at the sound of cracking bones. Blood had already pooled around the raven haired 5 year old, and Angela knew instantly that this was it. Reaching forwards Angela slid her daughter's eyes closed, not able to see her terrified expression any more, and then let the paramedics take over. There was nothing she could do now.

Before the girl was even placed in the ambulance, Mandy was pronounced dead. Angela was told by the most gentle female she had ever met, but that didn't stop her whole body going into shock. She slumped to the floor and wrapped her arms around herself where she sobbed uncontrollably, her face becoming instantly tear stained.

~*~*~

Angela started to sob in her office, the whole scene played out in her head. She had still not gotten over the whole situation, and the deep wounds were still fresh. Sliding the intriguing centaur report aside, the usually strong woman let her head fall onto her arms which lay on the desk, and once again sobs of sheer sorrow escaped her lips.

What a start to the day...

Rather suddenly, and quite unecessarily the researcher's office door burst open, the smashing sound of the door colliding into the wall echoed around the room, and preceding corridor, bringing an immediate sense of surprise to all who heard it. Even the man who had provided the sound seemed a little exasperated at causing such a ruckus. Guido, however, had no intention of apologising for his brisk interruption, and took a confident stride into the confined walls labelled as the head researcher's office, an insincere grin plastered upon the man's features, the most visible part of a face shadowed by a fedora and shades. However, this slightly cocky expression was erased, as the sound of crying, which belonged to the person he presumed was now his superior, was now audiable. It was a little sobering, but was inhumanly intriguing. Such emotion, with, given the neat state of the room, likely little provocation, was rare to come across... not that Guido was entirely unfamiliar with such things. Perhaps that was where the interest lied. Despite these rather immoral thoughts, Guido decided to shun his devious curiousity for a moment. This woman clearly needed emotional assistance.

"Sorry, to, uh, force my wan into here Miss, um..." Guido referred to a document, grasped within his left hand. "Porter." Seeing that the last thing she needed was an apology, he laid to rest the cane, which had been supported by his other hand, against the frame of the door, and quickly manouvered behind the crying woman's desk. Weaving around the holstered gun, which hung limply at Guido's waist, his hand snaked into a pocket before quickly recoiling out. This arm then was offered to the other scientist, as form of solace. It opened, like the petals of a flower, delicately and meanigfully, to reveal a plain white handkerchief. "Here, miss."

Adrastos weaved gracefully around the trees of the forest, his fierce red eyes the most visible part of his silhouetted form. Twigs cracked under his mismatched steps, his talons sliced into the ground leaving deep gouges and smaller cuts were left by the claws of his paws.

As he entered a clearing he lifted his head to stare at the sky above before spreading his massive, golden brown wings. He crouched down then after a moment sprang up plunging his magnificebt wings as he did so then lifted them and beat them down again to gain altitude. Adrastos angled his body up and swept his wings through the air to rise above the tree tops. Opening his sharp beak he let out a loud shriek causing birds to flee into the sky and land animals, large and small, to stare up in fright and dash for cover.

A figure swept through a darkened country lane, using the low light of the early hours of the morning to conseal his movements.
The man was no fool, he knew that they would be tracking him, a squad of highly trained killers, each of them armed to the teeth and itching to see what their weapons would do to him.
The bright headlights of a flatbed truck illuminated the area around him, as he ducked into a roadside hedge and removed his faded blue cloak, before tossing it onto the back of the truck.

A short while had passed before the man emerged in a small village, he knew they were closing in, so he went for the first hiding place he could find...
They'll never look in here...

Little did he know, that the village he had chosen to seek refuge in was actually built to house many workers of the Angelus corperation around the entrance to a large underground facility owned by the corperation, the perfect disguise in rulral England.

With his strong, heavy hooves making a loud clicking sound on the floor of the facility, Bhaltair made his way from the many creature containment cells. He'd been checking up on his most recent capture, ensuring they were in good health & not too badly affected by the ordeal of being sedated. The centaur ran a hand through his mane of hair, turning his head to look at his surroundings. Even though he had been transferred a lot, the horse-man had never really adjusted to the clinical settings of these facilities. He wondered whether or not he'd be questioned by researchers again today - they always wanted to know more about him; where he came from, how many others there were like him, what skills he had etc. Truth be told, he hadn't seen another of his kind for a few hundred years, but they may just be better at hiding than himself.

Bhaltair reflected for a moment on the reason he was here in the first place. After being saved from almost certain death by a white-haired man he had chosen to serve him, capturing creatures to be placed in these facilities & making sure they were treated well wherever possible. It saddened him that many of the places he'd been often treated their subjects badly, but he had made a difference in places. Still, he quite liked England, it was a place full of ancient mysteries that many of it's residents failed to recognise. Plus, there was even a chance he may meet his ancient friend here.

((By the way, I may be making a creature character too =o But he/she will be coming along a little later if that's ok? ^^))

((Of course X3 It will be fun, i'm so proud of my first post btw, i think it's my longest ever!))

Falixus swung his heavy head to follow the red eyed figure - ah, it was the local Gryphon. Falixus has seen the best before, so it's shrill cry did nothing but impress the beast and make him wince slightly as it pierced his sensetive ears. Falixus pulled his head back and craned it high, looking all around him. Nothing. It had been cleared by the Gryphon's sounds so Falixus had nothing to worry about as he loped off back into the thick line of trees. He bounded over fallen trees that he himself had knocked down, past the stray rabbit or fox, and just ran for a long time, working every large, thick muscle in his sleek body.

Angela's sobs momentarily shielded her from any sounds, but the sharp smash of the door hitting the wall startled her, and as she jumped out of her skin, her hand flew to rest on the hollow at the base of her throat. "Oh! Oh my...I am so sorry Sir. You should not have to see me like this, i'm in such a state...please, take a seat and give me a moment" the woman apologised, setting aside her glasses and signalling to the chair. She then took the hankie delicately. "Oh...why thank you," she then told him.

Angela walked a few steps away from the man whom she hoped took her offering of a seat, cleared her throat and dapped the hankie across her eyes and then wiped it along her chin and cheeks gently, mopping up her tears. The sobbing woman's chest was heaving as she sat back down and spun her chair to face the male. "Forgive me, who might you be?" she asked, now having managed to calm herself with a few deep breaths. Taking the sheet gently from the man's hand, she dropped her hankie on the desk muttering something about giving it back once she had cleaned it.

Thane sat on his little desk in the corner of his room sorting out the paperwork of his most recent captures. He put his head in his hands and sighed, he tried to focus on the work but all he could do was think of his next mission.Thane stood up and left the room while putting on his coat, a corridor light flickered as he lit a cigarette and took a deep breath.

Thane walked into the barracks and smiled at the girl behind the bullet proof glass, she handed him a large sliver case with 'Thane's guns' scribbled on the back with magic marker.
Thane Took several parts of a disassembled sniper rifle from the case and started to reassemble the weapon as he pressed the button to send out an target.Thane had finished the gun shaped puzzle and began firing round after round into a the head of a thin piece of paper, each bullet exploding from the barrel. The sound of each shot is music to his ears.

Bhaltair continued to move through the various corridors in the facility - luckily for him they were wide enough to accomodate his large frame. A few moments later, however, he was halted by a member of staff & crossed his arms, looking down at the man; the person in question seemed a little sheepish & kept diverting eye contact, but he nevertheless delived his message.
It has been requested sir, that you investigate the sightings of Subject Zero, who has been seen entering the surface accomodation area..."
Nothing betrayed whatever emotions the centaur may have felt towards this request & he was silent for a moment. When he did answer, his deep voice addressed the messenger respectfully.
"Thankyou for the message. I will depart immediately to investigate this matter."

With that the horse-man turned & cantered back towards his quarters to retrieve his bow & one of his smaller swords. Once they were fastened Bhaltair took off towards the facility's exit, weaving past any people that might be in his way. Upon reaching the exit he had to leap over a woman stood in the way, easily sailing over her & landing heavily, but neatly, on the other side of her. Rearing up briefly, the centaur galloped off towards the area that the subject had been sighted at, a small smile on his scarred face.

The man held his breath and waited as the heavily armed unit started searching the nearby area.
His hiding-place was perfect, the unit were under the impression that he was not the sort of man to lower himself to hiding in bins, but they were so very wrong.

The wheely-bin that the great and infamous 'Subject Zero', otherwise known as Aleksander, had hidden within was a rather typical bin, thankfully it was empty, save for himself and a couple of empty binbags inside of it.

He silently struggled to maintain the awkward posture that he had found himself in after closing the lid.

Adrastos flew in in lazy cirles, his legs tucked up to his breast his hind paws only slightly bent, paws sometimes brushing the tops of he trees. He looked down as he heard a large creature moving into the trees, his sharp eyes saw easily through the low cloud and he identified the creature as the Pseuodowyvern he had seen a few times. Beating his powerful wings he soared higher reveling in the feel of the air rushing through his feathers and fur. A moment later the Gryphon leveled out and once more flew in large circles. He turned his ruby gaze to the ground far below him, still able to make out the details perfectly, and watched as animals started to creep out of their hiding places. Adrastos let out another shriek though it was no where near as loud as the first and the creatures that heard it only looked around, fearfully, and stiffen slightly.

It didn't take long for Bhaltair to reach the accomodation area & notice the armed group searching it. He slowed his gait to a trot & approached them, noting a wheelie bin nearby. As he passed it, he said, in a very calm manner,
"Hello Alek."
He neared the unit now & nodded slightly at them, placing himself so that his horse body obstructed the bin, but not in such a way that he appeared suspicious. The men seemed glad that he was present, perhaps because he had proven to be such a good hunter - little did they know that he was affiliated with the very man they were seeking. After a few minutes of exchanging greetings & being given the details of the situation, the centaur watched the group of men move away.

Aleksander lifted the lid of his hiding place slightly after hearing a familiar voice accompanied with an equally fimiliar trotting noise.
Ah Bhaltair, my old buddy... I hope he's not still mad at me for setting his tail on fire...
A small grin played it's way across his face as he lowered the lid and waited for some kind of signal from his old friend.

It was a few moment later that Bhaltair turned to the wheelie bin & opened the lid properly, looking down at the man inside. The centaur's face was deadpan as he reached inside & grabbed the man by his collar, lifting him up.
"Hello there Alek. I hope you have no more plans to set me on fire."
Then a smile broke out across the horseman's features & he laughed; a booming laugh that, though loud, was very heart-warming. He placed his friend onto the ground & patted him on the shoulder, one of his hooves pawing the ground slightly.
"I'd almost given up hope of seeing you again this century! Getting yourself into more trouble I see."
