"This is lenience?"

Huang bowed his head away from her, yes this was her lenience from him. To think he would give her a chance with her being a noble. To let her go was against his own imposed code to himself. If he didn't feel something for her, she would be dead right now. Lying the pool of blood he had wrought upon her. She was lucky.

"You dare to call this lenience?"

Why did she still press? Why does she look and yell at me like that? Huang could only take his first step away from her. It was hard, how he wanted to comfort her but still hated her allegiance. Why was it that with her, he couldn't get past his hate? He needed to be stronger. Don't give into her words of anger.

"Heartless coward!"

And that was the last comment Huang truly heard from her. His eyes lost all emotion as he turned on his heel, his stride ate the ground up in a furious gait as he came up on her, pushing her back into the ally until her back hit the hard brick of a building.

His fist slammed into the wall just mere inches of Shin's face as his eyes filled with heat, anger and something more.

"Coward? You call me a coward, a woman such as yourself has no room to speak, even begin to compare." Huang faced remained stoic even though his words were angry, his tone harsh. "You wouldn't even know the first thing about a Coward, or even bravery in that matter, Little Princess Shin. One who is well loved by her family, One who has never seen the light of war or the darkness of death and pain." He reached his other hand up to circle around her throat as he squeezed it gently, letting her feel the loss of some air circulation. Death, so sweet it called to him to kill her, to show her that cowardness inside him was nothing.

"Don't forget Shin, Just who was the one who made this mess. You, and your damn Nobles. If you hadn't played me for a fool, toying with my emotions, Lying to me about what you really were, then maybe we would have a stood a chance." Huang voice turned smooth as silk now as his anger returned to mounting, "Your just a pampered spoiled harlot of the Nobles, learn your place and your tongue woman, and remember who it is that you call a coward in his presence." Huang flicked his hand off her throat.

Her last words seemed to echo in the silence between them for the space of a heart beat before he turned on her. Stalking back with rage filled eyes to drive her back into the alley and up against the coarse brick of the wall. Shoulders scraping against the sandpapered texture. There was no fear reflected in her angry eyes though, had not cower away from him like some scared little mouse. No, she didn't want him to touch her, and her feet moved automatically to keep him at arms length until all space was stolen away. Flinching only as his fist slammed a hair's breadth from her cheek, and even then she glared up at him, pretty lips curled in sorrow fueled fury.

Fury that only grew with each biting comment. All the more painful for the cruel irony of his words. He didn't know of what he spoke, didn't know how very wrong he was. The indignation made her bold, and she smacked her hand into his chest, pushed him away from her, or attempting to. "Only a fool speaks of what they do not know, Huang Fu." Her voice was an angry hiss. "This princess, as you so name me, is loved by naught but the dead that raised me. A tool for my father's cause, but not loved." She pushed him again, stepping forward. "The pride of my mother, but not loved."

Her voice was raising again, infuriated by his hate fueled blindness. How could he be so foolish, so ignorant? It annoyed her even as her heart ached and anger raged within her. "What fabricated world have you constructed for you self that's made you so blind to the truth of things. If I'm guilty of fooling you, lying you, then you're guilty of the same, for you never declared your allegiance to me either." She was shaking, shaking in her fury at him. "Hypocrite!"

She'd never been so angry before in her life. Not when Jun had defiled her, and not when Zhong had cracked her skull. All past irritants paled in comparison to the present. She'd held no hate hate of the legion, no ill will. Even after she'd felt the kiss of their blind hate she'd not hated them. But now, it was just too much. They were beyond forgiveness if their entire populous was this deluded in their self righteous bias.

Why didn't she cower at him. he was a Legion attacking her. Yet all she did was give him a pretty scowl, her face even in anger was beautiful. Huang had always known how attractive Shin was but even in his rage, she seemed to shine. she was strong, there was no doubt in that. And to him that worried him. If he couldn't break her with his reasoning, he truly would become a coward. He would constantly be running from her for an excuse that he now thought was pathetic.

Her hand smacked into his chest bringing him from his internal musings and helping him remember what he had chosen to do. Even if it was the wrong choice, even if it meant hurting somebody he truly cared for, he would stand by his choice. Cowardly? Not anymore.

"I told you!" Huang couldn't remember if he told her excatly what his alliance was, but he did remember telling her things...around it. That counted, if she couldn't get his ramblings of him being on the Legion side, well that was her problem not his. He had told her.

"I didn't make you do anything, all I did was give you kindness for tripping over my books!" Huang shouted, "All I ever did was kindness for you, All I was set into treating you so that you would smile at only me!" Huang banged his fist into the wall again, his eyes were lit with pain.

His head bent down as he forced himself on her, his mouth to hers. even anger, even the past awkwardness, he let himself have this one moment. And his mind begin to reel into the same repetition.

She was taunting him, teasing him. Women's tricks, Noble Lies. He would have none of it. He pulled back just as quickly as he had gone in and backed away.

"Stay away from me." Huang was so confused now, His own head and heart at war with each other. What did he do? How could he ease this conflict growing so badly in him. He wanted to run far far away now. he was done with all these emotions churning inside him.

Damn you Jianyu, and damn you Shin. Ever since his meetings with these two, things inside him started to surface and he wasn't ready for it. he refused to feel so much when his world was once so empty in feeling. Gah, It was making him angry, sad, emotional, His body hurt just from the overwhelming pain of it.

The Noble had gone past fury to cold rage, and she was almost calm in her anger. Standing still against that wall, hands balled into molten fists at her sides, but she didn't move again to push him, not even as she reassured himself of his honestly. Liar..

She held her tongue though, pretty scowl only growing darker with each word. And then the coldness changed, and it was so unexpected the poor girl startled. Kindness, he'd given her kindness so she would smile only for him, and she had done that. It softened her features, parted dark lips to respond, but the sudden press of his lips against her's stole her words. She froze under that one small touch, the first kiss he'd even given that didn't smack of awkwardness, and she could do little but uncurl her fingers.

And just as quickly he was gone, reeling away from her, blaming her. She couldn't help her next actions, they were simply beyond her control. She simply acted. Striding forward to lay the open flat of her palm against his moon kissed cheek with force enough to rock his head back.

How dare he accuse her, blame her. This was not her fault. "My smile had only even been for you Huang. And you could have kept it, always, if your accursed hatred did not blind you."

She didn't give him time to recover, to react, she simple kept walking forward, and if he did not retreat, she would walk right into him. "Bit if hate is all you have for me, then it will be all I have for you." She was calm as she spoke, deadly calm as her hand snaked back to the dark wood of the flute that was tucked into the metallic band that cinched her narrow waist. "Teach me this hate, Huang-fu. Make me hate you so my heart no longer weeps for lack of your touch!"

Spring tipped fingers curled round cool bamboo, clutching the dizi, but not yet drawing it free.

Huang could feel his body tremble with the effort of keeping himself in check. Why was it with her that he lost control of himself? He had always been calm and collected, shy and unsociable, yet meeting with Shin had changed him. meetings with Jianyu had changed him. He was done, his heart had been opened and all he could feel was the pain that he was causing to himself. It hurt so much.

Their kiss that they shared, his anger and frustration had felt right. He was awkward and unsure of his feeling in that moment. He had seen her soften and he had taken advantage while he still could. Just that one moment. Just one moment before he crumbled their world that they had started creating.

"Lies, more Lies from the noble's mouth."
Huang refused to listen any longer, "You smiled for more, for more than me." Huang looked away. "And forever will my hatred burn, forever more will this be our bond. Hating each other." Why had it come to this? Could he not come to a peaceful understanding? Forgiveness? Forgive him? No. Huang had enough. This one time of hatred, it would be his first mistake into growing. it was time for him to experience the same hatred he felt and backlashes on to him.

"I said to stay away from me Shin-Mu." Huang spat as he stepped away from him. Yet she followed his movements, and if he was to stop, he wouldn't escape her, he wouldn't be able to just run. It was time to show her then, show her why he would never let them be. Reaching into his belt he pulled out his needles, clenching them in his fist as he turned and face her, his hand outstretched till they stopped a hair's breath from piercing her neck.

"I will warn you again, and then there will be no more warnings." Huang eye's seem to die, blank as he looked at her, tone was just as empty. What faced Shin was not Huang himself, just a shell of a former self. In this way, he was detached from her, from his feelings. His body would be the one to show her just how much hate would be needed. "Take a step closer Noble scum, and I will show you what a Legion b*****d does to his enemies."

Her words simply couldn't reach him anymore. Couldn't get past the veil of hate he had spread between them, hidden behind. It made pretty little lips curl in their rage, fingers clenching so fiercely she could hear and feel the creak of the bamboo body within her grip. It gave her pause, a fleeting moments halt so she would not destroy the beloved keepsake. Loosening molten fingers, the darkling noble pulled the bamboo flute from her behind her back.

The needles trained on the untouched line of hr throat made her pause, but the glare she turned up to him had force enough to scald. He would turn weapons on her? He who claimed caring, maybe love? "Now who is the liar," she hissed, bring the dizi to her lips. If she had had any doubts about lashing out at him, they were ripped away by the p***k of the needles against her thin neck as she moved.

"Show me my sweet Huang, my love. What do Legion bastards do to their noble sweethearts?" The scorn in her voice was thick enough to choke on.

She didn't give him time to respond, to move. She touched her weapon to her lips and drew a deep breath. Centering her energies, focusing her power, then letting out with her breath as she began to play. Soft for the first handful of notes, enough to bring a fog up around their ankles, cold mist lapping at their legs, even if only a grand illusion. Her powers lay in messing with the mind, but she could do more..

The melody changed abruptly, turning harsh and grating, notes frantic and angry, like the cries of frightened birds. Attacking the ear, tearing at the tiny hairs within the inner ear to cause stabbing pain. And through it all she stared up at him, spring green eyes narrowed with sorrow fueled rage.

His hand held steady, the needles pricking against her sweet unmarred neck. Until this day, Huang had never raised his weapon to a girl, to a woman. He had more respect. But as he had seen today with them, his hand never faltered with his resolve. To become stronger, he would face her and her lies and move on.

He didn't flinch as she spat words at him. He didn't let himself respond to her hate with his own. He could feel her scorn like she could feel the needles that drew a thing p***k of blood. Her hand went to her Dizi, the once sweet melody she played for him, was she going to play it now to remind him?

It started out soft and calming, at first he thought it was a joke, was she going to try to sway his resolve with a little flute? Fog tickled his ankles and brought his gaze down as it swirled around them, covering their legs in the thick white mist. Her tune changed though, it started with a bringing in his ears before it became a ringing and then a shrill scream in his head.

His hands instantly came up to cover his ears in reaction to the pain, causing him to pull his hand away from her throat. He didn't drop his needles as he made a small sound of distress turning his gaze down to her, meeting her rage with his pain eyes.

"I see." Was all he could say as he took one hand off his ears and grabbed her hand holding the dizi up. He ripped her hand and Dizi away from her mouth, one hand still holding his ringing head, "You are a conduit. One who plays with the mind instead of the body." He winced every word he spoke as the ringing continued in his ears. While the Dizi had been removed, its melody had done enough.

"Then I will have to show you no mercy." He said as he made a grab for the Dizi, once that was taken, she would be powerless to battle and he would be free to walk away.

She watched with a sick sort of satisfaction as the erratic melody reached him, twisted within the paths of his ears and sent him reeling in pain. The needles drawn away from her neck as he sought to block the sounds with hands pressed over the fins of his ears. She'd never before been the sadistic sort, causing pain had brought her nothing, but now.. For him, she watched his suffering, memorized every agonizing detail, and took immense joy from it.

Until he collected himself enough to react, jerking forward to tear her weapon from her mouth and ceasing the chaotic music instantly. Drawing from her a startled growl as she stared up at him, then up at her own hand as he attempted to pull the flute from her grip.

No. She wouldn't make that an easy task. Jerking and twisting in his grip to keep that precious keepsake from his hand, fingers tightening until dark knuckles were molten white. "Get it over with then!" She screamed it at him, making a last desperate yank on her arm as his hand closed around the dizi and pulled it from her grip. Spring green gaze widening as he disarmed her, effortlessly.

It was in a raising panic that she pulled her fist back to swing at that handsome face. Anything to get him to release her, anything to get the flute away from him. She could feel Liu materializing, feel the confusion radiating from him at the sight of someone else holding the object he was bond to. She had to get it back!

In her struggling the necklace he'd given her came from from her top, silver charms glittering against the swell of her bust. Those beautiful, hand crafted little tokens of affection that no meant absolutely nothing.

It wasn't easy as he struggled with her over the flute. Her grip was strong and desperate such as his would be if his only weapon was being taken away. But he prevailed with his overwhelming amount of strength and once he had it from her lips, the ringing and pain faded into a dull memory. So quick to come and so quick to go. Her hand swung out, solidly connecting with his jaw which shocked him more then hurt. Don't get him wrong though, the little woman packed quite a punch but it was the shock of a girl getting a hit in the first place.

He stumbled a little back from her as his eyes caught something that glittered in the night. The necklace he melded from love and passion for her, just a token of how he wanted her. It shined in the light of the night, illuminated by the moon as it swung around her neck. As if Huang recovered from a dream of himself in the past, his eyes changed as did his body.

"This is finished Shin." Huang reached out and gripped the necklace in lightening quick motions before pulling it hard. the small strand split instantly in half at the force of his pull and sent little beads and charms to the ground. In one hand he held her flute, her only weapon and in the other, the remains of the necklace he wrought her with so much care. "Your disarmed Shin-Mu." Huang lifted his head to meet her eyes, "I have won this battle Noble, and with that, I have dismissed our interactions. I will forget that you ever were Shin-Mu." Huang said. He held her at distance, slowly backing away from her with her weapon and his broken gift. "It is over." He repeated at her before setting the flute and broken necklace on the ground. "Our love was not meant to be Noble, perhaps, it will never be." He grounded the words before jumping farther back. "Our last farewell sweet Shin-Mu, I will leave you with a reminder of the two of us that is stronger. Do not follow me Noble." He said as he moved to shadows of the buildings, staring at her intently in case of another attack before melting away into the darkness and disappearing. All that remained of their encounter and battle was Shin-Mu, her flute and the broken necklace as if Huang swept through, a storm of rage and left only the victims behind. His heart and mind heavy, he watched her from farther shadows, not with hate but with pain and confusion. and most of all sadness. But it was over and Huang would get over it. No matter what it took.

She was surprised herself when her fist connected solidly with the line of his jaw, and she actually recoiled from it, cradling her fist to her chest as she flinched away from a blow that never fell. She expected him to retaliate, to strike her back, and when he didn't she blinked up at him with wide eyes.

She'd been angry before, was still seething from what he'd done to her, but with her dizi in his hand, arm caught in his grip, she was afraid.

When his hand came forward she jerked, struggling anew to free herself from his grip, only to freeze as the strand around her neck snapped. Beads and charms falling like rain on street, scattering like the pieces of her heart. Everything they'd had together, everything was broken, shattered, beyond repair.

This was his doing. All of it. All this hurt and anger was his fault. He'd wanted her to fear him, and for a moment she did, but her hate for him would last. "This is no victory, coward." She hissed at him, jerking her wrist free of him as he released her, terribly tempted to lash out once again. This was no battle, this solved nothing! "Run away Huang! From the truth, from your feelings. You keep running!"

As he slipped away into the shadows she dropped to her knees, collecting the taken dizi and cradling it to her chest. Her breath catching in her throat as Liu's presence approached at her back. She felt him there, watching her, but said nothing. Ashamed that he'd seem this failure of a battle, ashamed that she'd let herself be disarmed so damned easily.

There were fresh tears on her face when she finally turned her attention to the discarded necklace, and the rage within flared anew, curling her lip before she plucked the blossom from the collection of beads. The leaf was nowhere to be found. She stared at the silver flower in her palm, anger receding slowly until there was nothing left but a dull ache and she closed her fingers around those hand wrought petals, squeezing them into her skin. "You leave me with nothing."

Huang simply left after Shin dropped to her knee's. He didn't want to see her pain, didn't want to let him touch him again. and he did excatly what she said and ran. It wasn't till he far far away that he realized he was gripping something in his hand, it dug into his palm deeply to the point of breaking skin. Sighing and holding his palm out, he unclenched his fist to see the silver leaf that he had partnered with Shin's blossom. It was symbolic in a way that he held the leaf he had thought of himself and Shin most likely had the blossom, he stared at it. Unsure of what to do he kissed the leaf and tucked into his satchel at his waist. It was going to be a reminder for him, of his wrongs and convictions and if they ever met again, Huang thought bitterly but sadly, he would see what would happen. For the leaf to leave its blossom was hard and dangerous, but it would make him stronger and less foolish. Huang could only hope.
