Red tipped claws, which looked like they had been dipped in lacquer pierced the ground but only enough to cause a small crumbling of the summers dry and parched soil he walked upon, black tipped toes replaced the claws, followed swiftly by white paws, all except one of his hind legs. The action was repeated many a time as the lone wolf made his swift progression forwards. Forwards, now that could be construed as a contradiction, Abekobe made his up into the Northern territories not for advancement but simply to get away from something, he was receding into confinement. Confinement offered the solace he desired, away from the world, more particularly away from his own kind he could hopefully discover his true self and find understanding. Abekobe was a Two-spirit, however the title was still unknown to him, currently all he displayed was the qualities of such a soul and as he had discovered it was of some distaste to those around him.
Abekobe was not always masculine in character at times preferring to take on the tasks usually associated with the females of the pack and often it had been said that he displayed inappropriate affections towards the male members of the pack. However the reverse was also true, in different company and having been appointed to other tasks that was required of him, he displayed a great deal of masculinity. Though it was this rapid change between these two personalities which unnerved those around him, they could not fathom him and found the behaviour peculiar. Abe himself however found it a natural thing, it made sense to him but events occurred with a male friend that had hurt him more than he cared remember, he blotted all thoughts of this out of his mind now and headed intentionally into isolation.
Abe however was still a relatively young wolf and though mature for his age in some ways in others he was still very much a naïve young pup. He had never had any purpose to leave the boundaries of his former pack and was unaware of the geography of Telk and also the locations of the other wolf packs that inhabited the land, thus as he headed northwards into supposed isolation he was rather surprised to come across scent markers, which indicated the boundaries of a wolf packs territory. Upon discovering one he paused, rather stumped as to procedure and the etiquette that was needed. Thus he simply waited, to be discovered, to be greeted and to be welcomed or allowed access to pass through this part of the world into deeper isolation which in turn would hopefully promote deeper meditation and thought allowing him to discover who he was and why others found him so disturbing.

Something had pulled him all the way out here and he didn't know what - he simply felt 'tugged upon'. More and more recently he was beginning to feel such odd little notions and whims - some stronger, some weaker - since he'd made peace with himself and found his totem animal. The crow. It was as though, sometimes, he was looking down on the world from above, as the great black bird did, and a colour or motion or sensation of some queer sort drew his eyes to a particular place.
Either way, he'd never ignored it yet and always found something fruitful to do - even if it did only turn out to be a chat with one of the pack members. It was as if such encounters were building to something but he wasn't even going to try second-guessing what that was.
It wasn't entirely a surprise, then, for him to spy the black and white wolf sitting by the very edge of the Aves land. It used to be that his heart would have beat fast, his eyes strained to see the patterning of such a wolf - to make sure it wasn't some relative come to finally take him home! But that was behind him now, a past which he was happy to leave as such. He was happy here.
As he got close enough, Quin greeted the new wolf with a smile. "Can I help you, friend?" Such a friendly, open greeting would have been something he'd have found hard only months ago - a sense of insularity and protectiveness having blinded him to the fact that those he now lived with preferred a more open context with visitors. He had learned that being part of them meant being more open and less distrustful.
There was also the fact he couldn't really feel any threat about this stranger - just a calmness which seemed to radiate out. He was beginning to trust on his judgement about that sort of thing as it'd become unerringly prescient about that sort of thing...

Abe looked up when a voice reached his ears, he'd lost himself to his thoughts and never noticed the approaching wolf. He smiled meekly in reply, the others voice held no threatening undercurrent, no, surprisingly the voice was welcoming and friendly but Abe was a bruised and damaged creature which ultimately meant he now buried himself away deep within himself, protectively. He wavered a little joke to the other, 'I doubt it.' His smile broadened a little but his eyes held a flickered of his story, the rest came a little gingerly, 'I'm not from around here, might of guessed that huh but I simply wanted to get away, I never thought I'd stumble across a pack.' He looked at the strange male and then past him into the wilderness and beyond. His voice was quieter now and sorrow tainted it's edges, 'I simply wish to past through, quietly and disappear the other side.'

Quin didn't have to be able to feel the emotions of the other to tell he was no threat - his words were enough. He picked his way a little closer, slowly so as not to appear threatening, and talked as he did.
"Well, I can only offer what the Aves always do - freedom to hunt and pass into our lands as you wish so long as you offer no threat to us or our lands" his smile showed that this was a formal greeting, not meant to suggest he thought the wolf his pale blue eyes looked over would offer such a threat. His words, though smooth now, still held the hint of an accent in them which wasn't quite familiar, a way of speaking which sounded faintly exotic, different.
"We are a little out of the way up here" he continued "it can be a harsh land, in the winter, but it's a haven nonetheless. Unfortunately it's also a dead end, I'm afraid - our lands lead only into mountains to steep for a wolf to pass by so going past the other side would need to go by another path".
