 Who is this handsome dwarf with godly chest hair, you ask? Why, it is none other than Varric Tethras! Nobledwarf, spymaster, narrator, companion, and unconfirmed love interest extraordinaire. He comes from a family of very talented merchants (who were once of the noble caste in Orzammar, before leaving/being cast out under uncertain circumstances), and makes his home in the lovely city of Kirkwall with the rest of his family. He spends his days telling tales, talking people into buying him drinks, and intercepting people with ill-intentions towards his family (and older brother, who happens to be head of said family).
Most importantly: He is one of the ones who tells Hawke's tale.

It's cool...Voiced by morgan freeman, the result should be nice (Better than Patrick Stewart for Castlevania LoS I hope. lol)
I would have prefered by far Leliana to act as a bard to tell the tale tho...
But then again...morgan freeman. lol

The Esper Terra It's cool...Voiced by morgan freeman, the result should be nice (Better than Patrick Stewart for Castlevania LoS I hope. lol) I would have prefered by far Leliana to act as a bard to tell the tale tho... But then again...morgan freeman. lol
But mainly curious. o_o
And Leliana narrating--though I do adore that girl--really wouldn't make much sense. The action in DA2 begins with Lothering being overrun (waaay back around the first year or so of Origins), and Hawke escaping with his/her mother and sister, Bethany. It then runs over the following ten years, with Varric and one other recounting the events that took place over the years (they, of course, telling it from the end of the ten-year span). Leliana would be traveling with the Gray Warden for about two or three years during that time--and we don't really know where she goes after that, but I'm betting it's not the Free Marches--and really wouldn't be anywhere near the game's HQ of Kirkwall, so it doesn't make much sense for her to tell the tale. Varric, as a squadmate, will be a first-hand witness to what Hawke does, so he is one of the narrators.
... Plus, he's more likely to embellish the tale than Leli is. And apparently, it even changes the gameplay depending on what he decides to lie about. And that's half the fun in my opinion. ;D

I had no liking for Varric when I first heard about him (before the game was released) but now that I've played and finished the game I must say.... I love him. He was a fantastic character, he was hilarious. He sure did have some great dialogue. 3nodding And he was such a sweetie!

Varric, the most badass storyteller ever. snarky, cunning, and all around awesome.
not to mention he becomes the big brother figure to Merril..touching
in my book he's up there with Shale and Oghren

That... is some fantastic art. XD He looks so badass, like he should have minions or something.
But anyway, Varric is awesome. I didn't like him at first, but he's the comic relief that this game desperately needs. And his conversations with your other companions is brilliant, regardless of who you bring with.

1:he was funny as hell
2:he was a great character tp hav on yo team
