It seems that there is a hatred for black republicans within the black community. Can someone tell me why?

[Honestly, I have no idea why anyone would hate someone else because of political affiliation. rolleyes Maybe it's because for a lot of people, "Bush" and "Republican" are synonymous. Some people don't like Bush, so they don't like Republicans. Some people think conservative (?) Republicans only look out for the rich and the white, while Democrats seem to have more liberal tendancies, and seem to be more open to helping minorities. A lot of black people might think black Republicans are "sellouts" because of this. neutral ]

Neither have become equal over the last century and I'm doubtful that they ever will. So passon if you even took time to read my original request into this guild, it will state that I'm losing my pride in being an african american. Well ever since I joined this guild, it not only has made me become more ashamed of being black, but regret my conception into this damned race. You have no idea about how much s**t I have to go through each and everyday of my life not only because of the already present racial stereotypes in america but because of the silly s**t some of us make in our lives. So passon not only have you failed me but you've failed black people altogether.

I don't remember taking on such a responsibility. stare You asked a broad question like, "Why is there hatred for black Rep.'s in the black community?" and I gave you possible answers. I recall typing "some black people" this and "a lot of black people" that, but I don't remember saying "I think black Republicans should be spat on because they represent evil Bush" or anything of that nature. xd
As for your request to join, Lupin, a dozen people may have joined since then. You don't scrutinize everything I write and I don't remember every detail of everything you've ever written.
I hate to sound rude or uncaring, but it's not particularly my problem if you don't feel any pride in being black. wink I went through that in my life as well. Being the race you are is one of the things you have to do in life, along with taking responsibility for your actions and dying some day (as I'm sure I've said before). You'll live a healthier life if you accept that and move on to changing the things in this world you DO have the power to change. 3nodding
It's up to you to make the most of your life, hun. It's not up to the rest of us to hand it to you on a silver platter. Life is rough. Life sucks. Life's a b***h...
...But life is life. I can't apologize for the s**t you say you go through. I can't make excuses for the stereotypes we all have to live with. We all have to deal with this, not just you. If this guild makes you ashamed of being black, then take steps to change that. Let us know why you feel this way and give us some suggestions. But don't blame us for the unfortunate events that have made your existance tough for you to deal with. confused ]
