Remember stay friendly in this topic, no attacking anyone and such. You don't have to read this whole post, and you can post anything you want. "Attacking" is basically flaming, you're directing something unfriendly towards a person.
I do think wolfdogs are okay, but some people do get wolfdogs when they know nothing about them and are just not ready for them. Like my mom got two wolfdogs and was going to breed them, she had me, an eight year old kid, who knew nothing about wolf body language, and I did get bit like three times. One time I was on my back and he gave me a funny look so I laughed, that made me look like a threat so he bit my face and I bled from my nose. He was only like 6 months at this time, but I still thought I would mention it. It scared the crap out of me but I was perfectly fine. That was mistake number one, don't have a kid and a wolfdog. He did also attack our chihuahua because of his prey drive and almost attacked one of our other dogs for challenging the alpha female, which is another mistake, don't have other animals and have a wolfdog. He was great with our cats though. He did get out once, but we had a super enclosure, and after he got out we made a ditch under the fence and cemented it so it was impossible for him to get out, and he never got out again. I don't think you should be in the city with a wolfdog like we were either.
Having that wolfdog I did have a new found respect for wolves, but I still love them, and still would like a wolfdog, but just not be as naive as my mom was. lol Have a proper enclosure, in the rural area, no kids, and no animals.
That wolfdog who's name was Centurion, was very laid back and just the sweetest guy. We never had to put him on his back, grab his muzzle, or anything, he was just naturally submissive and didn't really care about what we did, like an old timer. He slept in my moms bed and was an inside wolfdog. I have however, met one very neurotic wolfdog. This woman on the internet was moving or something and couldn't have a wolfdog where she was at, and she asked my mom to rescue him which she accepted. He constantly snarled at my mom, kept trying to mate with one of our female dogs who WASN'T in heat, and would stalk me. That, was just in like two hours, and my mom immediately sent him back, which the woman then snapped and called her a terrible person yada yada.
Unfortunately Centurion had been traumatized because at that time my mom was struggling to keep us in a house and she was constantly moving in with guys so we had a place to live, but we had to leave centurion at the house, and he was used to being with mom. He had some seperation anxiety I think, cause usually whenever we left the house he'd do this howl/bark that sounded like "I want my mama!" and we always laughed when he did it. But after everything had happened he just wasn't the same, I think she broke his spirit. He seemed more aggressive and withdrawn, but I was actually afraid of him. I think mom knew it because before we moved to where we are now she put him down knowing that no one else could handle him. Our other wolfdog had died of brain cancer.
Our other wolfdog Waya acted so... withdrawn I guess would be the word, that you didn't even know she was there XD She was low-content, and centurion was medium to high content. Waya was a big teddy bear who you could cuddle, and she sat like a human, and also went "scuba diving" where she didn't know how to drink from a water dish as a puppy and would blow bubbles when she drank XDD Centurion I just preferred to pet his lion mane, I loved that. I also loved putting my head on his back and smelling his musky smell. Oh the memories ;A;
Anywhos, centurion was wolf, white shepard, and malamute. Waya was great pyrenees and wolf.
