Samhain Activity
Make a Shrine
Samhain is the time when we celebrate death as a part of the life cycle, and honor our dead. If you don’t have a permanent family altar, this is an opportune time to make a shrine to honor those who have gone before us. Put up a table or clear off a shelf and put pictures and mementoes that belonged to those you knew and loved. If you don’t have a photo of someone, simply write their name on a card and display it. Decorate it by laying a nice cloth down and putting candles, flowers or little crafts. Put out a plate for offerings you may wish to place in honor of the dead.

Beltane Activity
Make a Wish
Make a wish at the hawthorn tree, a tree associated with faeries. Place strips of cloth symbolizing your wish in the tree (the color should be appropriate to the nature of your wish, i.e. blue for health, pink or red for love, green or gold for prosperity). Take some time to attune to the tree. When you feel you have contacted its spirit, visualize your wish coming true as you hook the cloth on one of the tree's thorns, chanting your wish. When you have finished, leave a gift for the tree.
