So our Area competition was yesterday (Saturday) and well... emo We tied with a band from El Paso (Hanks) but 3 judges ranked them one point above us so they automatically advanced. We placed 6th since 5 went to State...all that hard work to be slapped in the face like that.

They switched the judges (on what they judged) from Prelims to Finals. Judge 5 gave us 21st for Marching and then 3rd for Music...

Our band was there last year. You guys did AMAZING last year, I'm from the Midland High School band :3

And it's cool, we'll get over it in 2 years.

Dude that sucks... that happened to a band here in washington. They technically got enough points to move on to finals but because of a major screw up with the judges one of their sections got a score lower then possible and by the time they got it all fixed finals were about to start so the school never got to go.

i never saw the show because my ex was in the band and i wasnt in marching band last year because i just started this year in marching but i started band last year on beritone which im still on :] :] i started the girl beritone revoultion at clovis ha ha

Dude, I know how that feels. But in the situation I was in, we were happy about it cause we were happy to get so close.
The way I look at it is always "Next Year", it'll happen.

Oh man I know how that feels.
For the champs in the circuit I compete in, we scored a tie for 3rd but the judges decided to use the music score to break the tie. We got 4th.

We took High Guard and High Visual that night too.
