Settling into the pack hadn't been as rough as she figured it would be. After their first litter things just fell into place and she stuck to the shadows, except for the gathering, but even then she'd kept to herself. Usually Aitou wasn't self-conscious or nervous around others, but while she was surrounded by others similar to herself--hostile, rabid, dangerous and possibly having intentions of killing those even within the pack, she had to be weary.

That's one thing she hated, though. She was only weary in the end because of her pups, who she'd defend with her life if she had to. Some things about Freki still confused her, however. He was still mysterious to her, and though she liked that, she was still confused. She'd be blunt about it one day, questioning him about why he chose to have her stay here, to be her mate. So many things that just confused her.

But, right now she was busy. Kaikon had gone off on his own a while back and though she didn't care whether he left or stayed, she would have at least liked to have been told why the hell he was leaving. With their new pups running around she had her paws full, so she'd think of that later. She'd managed to catch a few birds close by, dropping them inside the den and sitting at the front so their pups could practice mauling something that was alive, for once. Albeit their wings were broken and they were probably close to death, it was still practice. "You have to show our King how strong you are, you all know. So you'd better get to work, weaklings dont go far in life."

Yuukan was a decently large pup--apparently he'd taken from genes far back in his mother's line. He also wasn't the most pleasant pup in the brood, tending to snap and snarl at his siblings, even his parents every once in a while. Though he was feisty, he respected his parents, to a point, and wanted to please his King.

The second those birds were down he was all over one. Standing a bristling at the bird, he growled and swatted at it, making it topple and chirp out in distress. He didn't want to go right in for the kill--he wanted to play. God forbid one of his siblings go after it, he'd rip one of their ears off.

Freki lay upon the edge of the den he had taken with Aitou. The female made for good enough company, she was nearly as mad and as blood thirsty as his brother but she had intelligence as well but even with her merits it was not enough to content the male. He was frustrated, Haemon was a Lord within the pack, favoured by the alpha male even after having attacked him verbally at the last pack meeting but he got away with it and was still trusted with a respected position, his mate Raelin was proving herself useful as well all in all he was jealous though of course he would never admit to it. Freki had spent his life training as a tactician in battle, politics was a game he could play though he didn't enjoy it as well, this pack wasn't allowing him to display his strengths, no it was playing to his sons.

He growled in frustration, the sound deep and promising misfortune. That damn helmed alpha male wanted a pack to reign terror upon others, but what was he doing with his warriors, he was keeping them pent up and unused, collecting dust. Some would wallow, rot and grow fat however Freki was not that sort, no he needed to vent his frustrations upon someone or something. He stared out with emerald eyes as Aitou came into view she came carry two birds in her maw, she dropped them then collected another two from somewhere outside of his intimidate view and dropped them onto the ground close to the pups as well. She had wounded all four that they were either unable to fly or unable to focus enough to gain any sort of lift, they flapped and hopped about helplessly, taunting his spawn. Aitou announced to their pups what they were to do and he snarled.

Rising fluidly he took two paces forwards staring with disdain at his mate and then quickly plucked up one of the birds, snapped his head to one side the action breaking the neck of the bird and he tossed it to one side, he snarled venomously staring at Aitou but he dismissed the thought of laying his frustrations out on her, no; he knew better than that. He penetrated her with dangerously sparkling emerald eyes then simply walked by her and disappeared into the dense woodland.

Munin sat perched above upon the branch of the tree that grew upon the ground that covered the roof of the wolves den, his beady black eyes watched with mild interest as the adult female, the one which lay with Freki carried a mouthful towards her pups, she spewed forth two wounded medium sized birds and then went to retrieve another two. He tilted his head to one side now a little more interested in a potential meal. He watched as the first pup lay into one of the helpless creatures, playing with it needlessly, you shouldn't play with your food he thought. Freki struck out of his den then, grabbed one of the birds purposely and flung it to one side. Munin knew his companion well enough to know he was in a foul mood, however it was not Freki who had his attention now.

He launched off of his perched and glided down to the lifeless form upon the ground and began to tear her purposely designed beak into a half descent meal.

Ondott was absently gnawing upon a hapless stick, chewing bits off it slowly and then spitting them out. However her sky blue eyes focused upon her mothers form as she walked into view carry something in her maw. She watched then as she dropped the first two birds, somehow wishing the target for today's practice was a little less droll; the birds had already been wounded and staggered about as if drunk. She yawned absently, raising her head and looking upwards before staring back at her mother with an almost dejected expression on her face, give me something else, something that would challenge me she thought. She wasn't as interested in killing off wounded birds as one of her brothers and was a little tardy in starting the task, enough that her attentions where taken in by her father who now came out of his slumber. Those emerald eyes of his caused a small shiver to run up her spin and she watched as he simply ended the life of one of the birds in one smooth action and stalk off as displeased.

Ondott stared at her mother who didn't say anything at first but then she caught sight of her fathers raven, the large black bird landed upon the smaller lifeless bird and began to eat it. Now this was a little more interesting. She flipped her stick to one side, rose and stalked several paces towards the feeding raven and then once close enough she charged snapping at the scavenging creature. However the old raven was wiser and quicker than her, she managed to snatch a tail feather however that was all. She snarled in vexation and stared up at the fleeing bird.

Munin felt eyes upon him, he was old enough to sense those sort of things, plus carcasses always attracted other such opportunist creatures as himself as he was used to having to vacate the kill in such instances. He snatched two more chunks of flesh before he knew it was time to leave, however the pup was quicker than he had expected and he cawed out in alarm as the fanged pup plucked out one of his tail feathers. He concluded then he'd leave the ambitious youth behind and seek out Freki, his companion.

Erika was neither as large as her brother nor, perhaps, as easily sidetracked as her sister had been. The bird she plucked up was wounded, true, and not exactly exciting prey. However, there was still some merit, she thought, in taking her time over dispatching prey slowly. Her father had gone for a quick kill, but Erika had often wondered why one would do so - surely if you wanted your enemies dead then you also wanted them to suffer some beforehand.

Besides, it was kind of funny to watch the birds hobble around maimed. She grasped a leg between her teeth, crunched and chewed on the stringy, bony morsel whilst watching her prey try to struggle away from her. The foot came loose, it staggered back, and she laughed. How would it do with no feet, she wondered as she dragged it back by a torn wing...

Most children might have been told not to play with their food but Erika truly enjoyed it. She had, it seemed, taken the bloodlust that ran in the family but combined it with a keen and lively intelligence. Not for her, bloodbaths and sudden sharp deaths - no, she preferred to enjoy her prey.
