Tarli Bartlett The blue-haired child looked up at Alome, listening to her before looking down to her crystal ball. "You've been hurt deeply, and something has been torn from you." she said, her tone soft and faraway. "You've had a brush with the otherside...." The girl's voice took on a hint of sadness; she still couldn't comprehend what could make one feel so sad that.... She shook her head. The air seemed to thicken a bit around the two as brown eyes rested on Alome. "Whether you remember them or not, one of those who have gone before you come to you to prevent history from repeating once again." she said, holding eye contact with the pale-eyed girl before looking down back to her crystal ball. Prompt It's one of those quiet, dark October nights. While alone and left to her thoughts, Alome finds herself confronted with a ghost who has something to say about her previous actions involving ethyl acetate. They fell victim to the same actions, and want to prevent someone from suffering their fate. What kind of conversation do the two have, if the little butterfly stays to chat and doesn't go running to call Ghostbusters? It had been quite some time since Alome had last come through this part of town.. Most of the time, she simply walked through the bark upon heading home from school, finding it quick and convenient for her.. Losing her wings seemed to not only darken her mood even more so than before, but forced her to take her time, slowly moving from place to place. She hated it. She hated watching the world move around her, because she knew, no matter what she did, no matter what she wanted to say, no one would listen.
That was the problem with the world. There was no listening, there was no time. There was simply me me me. People focused so heavily on what they wanted, and nothing about others. It was just that that caused Alome to did what she did. She hated the fact that no matter how hard she tried.. No matter how hard she sang, how hard she cried, she could not help the ones that meant the most to her. When it all boiled down to it, it was her weakness she hated, and the fact that her weakness caused other's to suffer..
At this point in time, the sun had set long ago, and she had found herself simply wandering around the park, seeing a large, full moon peeking down at her from above the trees. It was pitch dark in her area, only the sky lighting her way. She looked to her left.. Nothing but trees.. She looked to her right, nothing but more trees... Her pale blue gaze set out before her, and what lied in wait was a clearing, covered in a soft mist.
Normally, one would think it would be a foolish idea to go wandering around at night. One could get kidnapped, or killed.. But to Alome, it didn't matter... It didn't matter at all.. She would be better off dead anyway..

"No, you wouldn't be," came a voice. Soft and firm, stern and kind, the voice itself was full of paradoxes. "You could make a difference," it added, a cloudy form taking shape in front of her. The shape solified (slightly) into the form of a young boy. A teenager, he couldn't have been much older than sixteen. His wings were that of a lunar moth, and though he was dressed quite like that of an everyday teenager, a sword hung at his side.
He had the face of someone who was always smiling, though a frown tugged at his naturally upward lips. His eyes had a hollow look about them, as if they were usually sparkling, but were now serious. "Do you really believe the world would be a better place without you?" he asked. "You realize that ridding yourself of the world would be--" he hesitated, realizing he sounded much like the people Alome wanted to get away from.
"Do not let those people win," he rephrased what he had been able to say. "They are selfish and only care for themselves, yes. You can show them another way. Open their hearts, teach them to care for others again." He would not place the blame of his death upon her; he had commited suicide once he thought his purpose in live was gone; once he had believed Alome herself had died. He would not tell her. He would correct her mistakes. Lovingly, he would protect her even in death.

The voice that called out caused Alome to go ridged, looking around herself quickly. She wasn't so stupid as to let someone sneak up behind her, nor was she so blind not to notice someone who would be around this late at night. Though as her eyes moved around.. She saw nothing... Nothing at all.
Once her vision set out before her again, there before her stood a boy, one that seemed familiar, but she could not place her hand on it.
"Don't suddenly appear and start to lecture me. Who are you to talk about how I feel anyway. You know nothing." She said, each word laced with bitterness. "Move aside, I have somewhere to be." Sure, it was a lie, but she couldn't exactly fly away from her troubles like she once did. And she wouldn't say it, but.. She was scared... This guy.. He seemed to be just like her.. And older too.. If that was the case, there was no way she could beat him in a fight.. But.. then again, she wouldn't fight back.. Maybe he could kill her. Then it would be a way to escape this world without having to have her own hands dirtied...

Enre sighed. "As you wish, princess," he said. His words were almost identical to what he had said when they had met the first time. He moved aside, and for a moment, he was completely transparent. "I have very little time," he said.
"Very little time. You seem to think I have come to attack you," he rose a transparent eyebrow at her. "Do you not recognize me? Princess, you may be correct in saying that I do not know how you are feeling. I know something, however, of what I felt when I commited the same crime you wish to."
The ghost moth knight sighed, and a cold breeze, ever so slight, followed. "I will not fight you," he added, showing her his sword. It too, was transparent. He put it on the ground, and it disappeared. "I am Enre," he said. "Your knight." A knight who had been in love with the princess.
A knight who had lost his purpose the moment he had believed she commited suicide.

Princess...? How did he know- WAIT! She knew.. Oh God she knew who it was.. That voice, and.. Those wings... A flash back to when they were just children reached his mind, and tears began to form in the corner of her eyes.. Alome began to remember the times that they had shared together.. He had been by her side for such a long time, until they had to be parted..
"E-enre... It's you.. F-from the palace... How did this happen..." Her voice trailed off, listening to what he said.. Her hand reached to gently touch his cheek... But it slipped right through. There was nothing there, nothing except the cold chill from the realization that he had.. Passed on. Could he have meant that his death... It was all her fault.. Because she had become weak.. Because she had wanted to die..
"Oh God... W-what have I done...?" She whispered, falling to her knees, shaking. "I'm so sorry.. I'm so so so sorry.. You should just kill me now! I deserve to die! I killed you!!"

Enre's frown deepened as his hollow eyes studied Alome. "No," he said firmly, almost angrily. "Princess, it was my choice." He paused, and kneeled down to her level. "Princess, listen to me, please. It was my choice. It is not your fault; I felt I no longer held a purpose in the world. The world even there, is full of what one might call corruption. Power hungry people, people who don't notice each other anymore. People who don't care."
He paused again, and stared at her. "I was mistaken," he said, ruefully. "I had a purpose, and one I plan to fullfil even in death. I will protect you, and together, we can make this world in which you reside, a more appealing place. Will you help me in this task?" He inquired, picking his sword up out of the grass.
"Stop these suicidal tendencies, princess. Do you not hear the world crying out to you for help? Do you not see it? The evil happening that we can prevent together. The world needs us. Not even death can cure the ailments life has given us."

Someone finally understood.. Someone saw what she saw.. Alome had always thought she would be alone in her beliefs, that no one else would even try to understand how she was feeling, what she saw as wrong.. But.. here he was, wanting to help... Wanting to still be loyal to her, even though she had left him behind so long ago..
"Enre... I tried helping the world before.." She spoke softly, moving to her knees so that she sat even with him. "I tried to help one.. One who was innocent, one who saw no evil in this world.. But there was nothing.. Nothing at all I could do..."
She sat up straighter, her hands tightly closed around one another in her lap. "How can I help the world when I can't even help an infant who has never done wrong? How can I help the world when I couldn't help myself..? That's what I don't understand.. And.. And Until I can understand this... I can't help you.."

Enre gave a soft smile, an expression that seemed to fit his face far better than the frown he had held there before. "I have seen this," he said. "Your healing capabilities did not work, because they only work on what is natural. Man-made--" he hesitated, searching for the right word so as not to offend his princess, "people, are not the same. It wasn't your fault, love."
He seemed to become slightly more solid, more than a ghost, but less than a shadow. He put his hand to her cheek, and smiled gently. One could see the emotion in his eyes now; he was no longer shielding it. This ghost was in love with the princess. "To understand yourself, you need to be able to understand others," he said. "If you first do that, then you will discover that they are not so different. Discover yourself within others. Make friends. Spend time with them. I will always be with you." He moved closer and touched his cold lips to hers.
Pulling away, he seemed to be watching for her reaction. "I would have preferred being about to do that while I was alive," he admitted, lunar-wings fluttering just slightly in his apparent nervousness. One could almost read his thoughts. What if she rejected him? What if she sent him away?

"Why can't they work on him...? He is warm.. he has blood running through him too! Why couldn't I heal the flesh the was broken.. The bones that had snapped... I couldn't make him better.. Please.. Help me understand everything.. I don't want.. I don't want to feel this way again.. It hurts.. It hurts so much.." This was the first time Alome had admitted that she was in pain. All other times, she simply shrugged off how she felt and pointed her fingers at others.
Nothing but warm, awkward feelings filled Alome as she felt her knight press his lips to hers. It was strange.. There was nothing but coldness coming from his form, but she felts so warm.. So intensely warm.. When he pulled from her, she reached out, to grab his arm. She seemed surprised, still, at the fact that she could touch him.. Pull him back against her, wrap her arms around him tightly.
"Why...? Why didn't you come sooner...?" She didn't sound angry that her knight had taken so long to return to her side.. Rather, she seemed upset at herself.. For missing out on the chance to know her knight.. To have the same relationship with her knight as Noel Did with his own, Domi.. It was a yearning sound.. And empty sound..

Enre hesitated. He seemed reluctant to correct his princess. "Your powers didn't work on him," he said with a sigh, "because he was man made. He is what those of this world might consider a robot. Some go so far as to believe his pain and emotions do not matter; simply because he is not real. I know better, you do too. He has a soul, yes. Our abilities cannot heal him because of his making."
He paused as she reached out, and stared when she took his arm. His eyes became icy once more, as if he was closing himself up, as if he was putting up a wall between them. "I was not permitted to do so," he stated cooly. She had left him! Not the other way around. Why hadn't she come back for him? Why hadn't she? She had expected him to come to her? If he had been allowed to, he would have, though he wouldn't have made his presence known to her.
He loved her, and still, he was bitter. She had left their world. She had left him.

"Ah..." was all she could say.. It made sense.. It was hard to deal with things one could not understand... And this was definitely a case of such... It was a horrible thought to consider, that Irae wasn't a person.. That he didn't matter.. And yet, that is just what his own mother thought.. She thought he was just merchandise to be sold for her own pocket change...
"You weren't allowed to come..? I thought.. That when my father took me away from the kingdom so long ago, it was just for a little while.. That's why.. That's why I said I would see you soon.. I was so little back then.. I knew nothing about politics, or how the world ran itself.. All I knew was that.. I had a friend, and I wanted to see him more than anything else... All this time, I've kept that thought to myself, not saying a word, knowing that one day, you'd come find me.. You were.. no, you are my knight, so I couldn't help but think it was you who would come.. I'm so sorry Enre... I never wanted to leave you.. Never at all.. "
