It has indeed happened to ALL of us; We have been worshipping our fave J-Rocker when someone is all like: Hey, it's a girl! stare
So, this is where you can share your funny (or mentally scarring) stories about the idiots who believe that our Musical Gods are indeed women...
Once, I gave my friend a picture of Mana and we showed it to her mother. She got this horrified look on her face and just kind of started mumbling incoherret words until she finally said "Do... uh.. do you think she's... pretty?" At which point we started cracking up and shouted "That's a MAN!"
If possible, she got even more terrified and just walked away from us. Later that say she asked me if I would ever kiss a guy like that. I didn't exactly want to tell her the blunt truth (that I would indeed love to drag Mana into bed with me if I had the chance >.>) because I worried about what she would tell my parents, the men in white jackets, ect. So I just nodded and walked away quickly.

Back in my last Gackt faze mom actually liked Gackt. For his voice she says. She did say that the only thing masculine about him was his voice and asked if I was sure he wasn't "a transie." I remember I was watching Moon Child and mom came in. I told her Gackt was in it. She asked if he -played- (she stressed that part) a straight male. -.-
I laughed, and she was like: "No, I'm serious."
But yeah, many people I know often mistake my favorite JRockers as girls....boys can be pretty too ya know! xD

Psh. Silly people and their one-sided view of masculinity. Just because a man is pretty doesn't mean he's not masculine and it doesn't mean he's gay, either.
I mean, come on. It takes balls to wear dresses and look that pretty.
Ask any guy to wear a dress and make-up, and usually the response is something like "HELL NO!". Why is this? I think it's because they're scared to. ;D
J-Rockers, on the other hand... they aren't afraid to be pretty. They know they look good, and they know the fans love it. <3 (And oh how we love it...)

Well, I'll let you all know how a class of people calling me a liar goes tomorrow or Tuesday. That's when I have to present my JRock project... And I know they're going to tell me that the people in the pictures are girls. I can't wait to start to put up with everyone's comments. Oh, and their reaction when I have to keep saying "that's a guy". XD

Good luck Yami!
What is your project about? I mean, I know it's about J-Rock, but is it about J-Rock in general, or about the visual aspect, or what? ^-^

Yami no Moonlight Well, I'll let you all know how a class of people calling me a liar goes tomorrow or Tuesday. That's when I have to present my JRock project... Oh, and their reaction when I have to keep saying "that's a guy". XD Sweet. I did that once. Or, something similar to that. It was more like I brought a picture of Mana to my school, said he was my female cousin, and asked guys if they would date her. When some said yes I glared at them, called them perverts, and started murmuring about how Mana was mine. sweatdrop
Yeah... I got sent tpo the counciling office... eek

Well, my project was on the history of J-Rock and then bands. I incorrorated (in order) Bordems, X Japan, hide, Dir en Grey, Psycho le Cemu, Phantasmagoria, Malice Mizer, Panic Channel, Kagrra, Guniw Tools, Daigo Stardust, Orange Range, Miyavi. I'm gonna start out with them listening to [KR]Cube and then give the history. As I talk about each band I'll pass around pictures to go with the bands. After, I'm going to gave them use their "Engrish" skillz to pick out the English from one of Daigo's songs.
Sooo yeah... I haven't gone yet. They let us out of school early on Monday, because there was a lot of snow. Today we didn't finish the presentations. I am definitely going first thing tomorrow morning. I'll let you all know how it goes when I get home tomorrow. Madi, Morgan, and Chris were already sympathizing with me, because I am gonna have to deal with A LOT of narrow-minded people tomorrow.

Woot, good luck with the project. 3nodding
As for a story, I think my Shinya one works. I printed a picture of him out at my friends house, one where he was wearing a dress, lipstick, and pearls. Then I showed it to a friend and her little brother, who both said he was female. I laughed and told them he was male, and thus my friend had a fit and began yelling at me "THAT'S A GIRL DAMNIT!" That was at least 8 months ago and she still hasn't given up on it. surprised

That project was the funniest thing!! It was going pretty good with everyone until Morgan raised her hand and was like "They're all guys, right?"... I think she was trying to help me, because I had forgotten to mention that. Everyone's face expressions were priceless!! Even, Mrs. C (the teacher) couldn't help laughing at their reactions. Tyler was like "There is no way that's a guy" and Lee was like "That isn't a guy. I refuse to believe that. It's definitely a girl". So, of course every picture I showed them after that those particular too had similar comments. After school though I was talking to Lee about my project and he said that he actually liked it... "But there's not way those are guys" kept popping up in the conversation. I loved how he kept saying that, because he's the smartest freshman and can't tell the difference between a male and female. XD
