About a month or so ago I would have random images flash into my mind when I closed my eyes right as I was settling down to sleep. At first I dismissed them as nothing but once realizing I always felt like nervous and fearful afterward I gave it more thought. The only one I can clearly remember is a black horse on a road. Horses being sacred to Poseidon and Roads to Hermes I thought it might be from one of them...but something just seems to be saying "Nah its not them." So doing some research on Gods and Goddesses associated with Roads and Horses I came across this Japanese God and everything I am seeing about it him relates to me in some way. Still doing research but are any of you familiar with him or know a good source for looking up either Gods and Goddesses or him?

A Kami? I don't know much about Shinto myself I must admit, but I'd recommend going for a Shinto source rather than a "misc deities" source, because the Shintoists come at it in sort of a different way, and a misc deities source is more likely to treat them as a "take your pick" irresponsible polytheism sort of deal. Like, you'll want more of the cultural info in there as well.

I actually follow the Shinto path myself. Here are some good places for info:

This is a piece out of the Kojiki, the oldest text on Shinto:

This one is from ask.com, but it has some good general information:

My advice is to read the Kojiki, and learn what information you can from it. This is the truth as written by the Japanese on their dieties. From there, any information you may find can be brought back to the Kojiki for examination. If you don't think it fits in line with it, it's probably wrong.
